Close to the ship port which is very convenient the food here was pretty good. The shrimp and grits were ok the shrimp was tasty but maybe a bit more flavor on the grits. I ordered a Long Island(not pictured) but wow was it strong and for $16 I'd hope so. The vibe was very nice and establishment very clean. Keep in mind that you have to go to the bar to put in your order but the food came out fairly quickly. Staff were very attentive. I'd return again!

We came here accidentally while looking for Gypsy Joynt, but we were happily surprised. The interior is upscale and beautiful but there isn't an expected dress code. The BLT with an added egg was definitely the best meal. We were obsessed with it and left nothing on the plate. The biscuits and gravy was also super scrumptious and had an excellent seasoned gravy with tons of flavor.

New hidden gem in Galveston!! Came to Leeland House tonight with a large party of about 25, and the staff was extremely accommodating and made the experience smooth despite the group size. We ordered our food and drinks at the bar, and everything moved efficiently. I ordered the seafood pasta, steak with risotto, and truffle fries, and every dish hit the spot. The seafood pasta was flavorful and fresh. The steak and risotto was amazing -- the mushrooms complemented the risotto perfectly and really elevated the dish. The truffle fries were a great side and tied everything together nicely. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the night. Overall, a great experience and definitely a new hidden gem in Galveston. Would absolutely come back.

Obviously a hamburger! A big ass hamburger at that!

I'm not gonna lie... This hamburger was delicious! They told me how they grind their own beef from three different cuts and you can tell! Super wonderful! The cheese is rich, so just know that... But I loved it! Perfect fries as well! The ambience of the place was really welcoming as well as the staff. I can't recommend this enough if you're looking for a good burger on the island!

Came here two years ago and it was absolutely amazing. However, after coming back after two years, the food was honestly disappointing and severely lacking. The fried cauliflower was delicious! Great for sharing and still tastes as great as it used to. The rest of the food, however, was just lacking in flavor. The sweet potato bowl had huge chunks of unripe tomatoes and the cheese wasn't melted. I had to use copious amounts of salt and chalula just to eat half of it before giving up. The ambiance itself is loud and uninviting. What used to be a charming brunch spot is now almost like a morning club. The music is very loud so that everyone has to raise their voices. No comment on the service since you have to go up and order yourself (which is completely fine). It was disappointing to say the least. I'm hoping this was just a one time experience and hope others have a better shot.

We came in for brunch on a Saturday and the crowd was not too crazy which was nice. They have a few outdoor seating in the front as well as a spacious dining area inside. You can grab a menu and seat yourself. When you're ready to order, you walk up to the bar to put in your order. Don't forget to take note of your table number to let them know where you're sitting. We ordered the honey chicken biscuit, brisket hash, and eggs benedict. The brisket hash dish was rich and filling. It had a good amount of meat and was flavorful. The honey chicken biscuit was also nice. The biscuit was moist and the chicken was fried perfectly. We didn't like that the syrup ran into the fried potatoes though. The star dish was the eggs benedict. The perfectly poached eggs were plated on top of big pieces of ham that sat on top of avocado toasts. They have a variety of drinks as well. I opted for a banana cold foam matcha and it was so good. I personally wasn't too fond of the coffee drinks that I got to sample from my family members. I found the coffee too acidic, but I would definitely get the matcha latte again. Cool place to grab a nice breakfast/brunch before heading off to our cruise!

Leeland house is a chic and welcoming place nestled in the neighborhood. Everyone was friendly and welcoming upon our entry and the decor was crisp and inviting. They have an open seating and bar ordering system which some people balk at but, it was easy and more efficient than waiting for someone to come take your order. Our family of six was easily accommodated and instantly serviced with drinks. We ordered a variety of dishes and everyone left completely clean plates which anyone with kids knows is a miracle alone! The gravy for the biscuits and gravy is one of the most unique and tasty ones I have had with its andouille sausage twist. Be sure to add brisket for the true chef's kiss experience. Overall, very tasty and cool vibe place. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Galveston.

There's plenty of free parking out on the street and the location is very close to a lot of nice places on the west side of the strand. We came in to get a quick bite to eat before going to our Red Light District tour and the staff was friendly and quick to have our food out. When you come in, it does feel like a nicer spot but with casual feels! As for the food, I will say that the pizza was very delicious! Crunchy on the outside with fresh ingredients! Definitely recommend this to people just want to try something different.

The food is incredible. I highly recommend the Brie app or the bacon wrapped dates. Delish! The drinks are amazing too, but they are pricey. It's bar service which I wasn't expecting for the prices or ambiance. It definitely gives bar vibes. If you haven't been, def check it out.

Waffles were fabulous? Chicken was tender, waffle had a good flavor. The whipped butter/cream was the cherry on top. The fruit on my friend's waffle was quite sweet. Potatoes and scrambled eggs were on point.

We are admittedly food snobs. our meal from start to finish was nothing short of spectacular. We highly recommend starting with the CRAB STUFFED SHRIMP, (yum). The WEDGE (get a half!) is so good and fresh (I had no blue cheese, substituted with ranch). The WHITE (loaded chowder) and the JOBBER (loaded gumbo) were totally delectable. They both came with crispy garlic bread. THEN, even though we didn't need it, we shared the CRUISER LINGUINI (linguini with clams, bacon, white wine sauce, tomatoes, leeks) seriously totally to die for. We counted at least 30 little neck clams. We could have rolled out the door by now, but nooo... we had to have dessert. We chose the Crème Brûlée Trio. The selections are seasonal. Tonight was coconut, tres leches, and pecan. Of course we added cappuccino and Baileys. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Our server, Misty was a delight. We WILL be back!!

We made an 8:00 reservation and then we're running late and called to let them know. They had no issues when we arrived even though it was 20 minutes late. The restaurant was smaller than I expected but very nice and when we arrived we were among the last tables to be seated for the evening. The servers were fantastic, and especially our server, Haley, who took care of all of our needs. She kept our water glasses full, kept checking on us and took care of all of our dinner needs. My mother and I started with the chowder and house salad. We then ordered our meal and my mother had the Cedar Plank Salmon and I had the Blvd seafood sampler with Redfish, shrimp and scallops and both of our meals were outstanding. The seafood chowder, even just a cup was huge with tons of seafood, so much so I was wondering if I'd be able to eat my meal. It was filling but I devoured the seafood and found that I love Redfish! Yvonne came over mid meal to check on us. I presume she was a manager. Blvd is an outstanding and reasonable restaurant and I highly recommend that you check it out if you are in the area or coming to Galveston for a cruise. I look forward to returning in the future.

That being said, it had been some time since I've gotten some proper fish-n-chips. I had to remedy that. Especially since the BBQ fiasco the other day, I was going to go on a hunger strike, but once I made the sign, I got potato chip fingers on it and started to eat it. So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and figured I would eat myself happy again. Which I'm never mad about. Sometimes I make myself angry just so I can eat myself happy. And now, the rest of the story. I have learned that I enjoy Cod fish for my fish-n-chips. And I think also Haddock. I am not a fisher nor a fish. So it's hard for me to say. But I know Cod is one for sure. I also sometimes have baby mouth and am afraid of new things. I do know I love my fish battered and deep fried. I also know that Shark Shack had good reviews for their fish, so, that was all I needed to hear. Plus, it was a perfect little eatery with bar seating, table seating, and gifts! So you can bet your bottom dollar tomorrow I ordered the English fish-n-chips. Boy oh boy. Just like how Britain colonized all those countries back when it was the cool thing to do, these fish and chips colonized my taste buds. Respectfully. This plate came with FIVE logs of fish. FIVE! Maybe they were tubes of fish? Honestly, I don't care what shape they came in, they looked perfectly crunchy and perfectly brown and perfectly fish. The super cool extra bonus? These fish came with CRISPIES! I've only ever seen crisps with fish from Long John Silvers, whose fish is probably as far from Cod or Haddock as legally possible. I actually think one of my pieces of fish from there had shoelaces. Didn't matter. Still ate it. Respectfully. (If you aren't privileged enough to know what fish crispies are, there little batter pieces that fry or fall off the fish as they cook. Basically little crumblies. If you make a wish over a fork of them and get the forkful in your mouth without dropping any, your wish will come true). Homemade tartar sauce was good, but there was a certain flavor profile that I wasn't a fan of. It was still good to use on the fish rods, it just tasted a little too much out of the tartar sauce field for me. The meal was wrapped up nice and tight with lovely square-cut fries. Perfect doneness. Perfect Ketchup vessel. I could just stare at a pile of them all night. Mostly because I'm weird. Accompanying us were our good friends from home. After a long wait on the ferry to get over to the island, we worked up quite an appetite. Build a bridge already, TXDOT. I digress.. We were in search of a new lunch spot on the island. After polling the audience, pizza is what the fam wanted. After a little searching, we decided on Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza. Many moons ago they had a location on the Bolivar side, but I never had a chance to try it before Ike. After a small journey to find a parking spot, myself and my party of 10 strolled right in. The atmosphere walking in was pleasant and had the old pizza parlor feel to it. Luckily they had a big round table that accommodated comfortably. Greeted by a waiter with menus and a smile, we ordered our drinks and perused the menu. Lots of very yummy looking dishes. In good time our drinks arrived and appetizers were ordered. For my troops, we ordered the garlic bread with cheese for the table, a large pepperoni and black olive pizza for the wife and me; baked ziti for kiddo #1; fettuccine Alfredo, sans ham for kiddo #2; and spaghetti with garlic and oil for the kiddo's friend who joined. I didn't hear what the other family ordered. The appetizer took just a minute, but it arrived. Simple bread with simple cheese. Simple, but delicious. The basket was obliterated and went quick. The one piece I had was delicious. If you have a small family, one basket will suffice. Anything more than four people, I think you will need a second basket. Now with the bread gone, we were left to chat and enjoy each other's company. While waiting, we saw why the name for the place. One would think it was just a cheeky name for a pizza joint, but they actually throw the dough here. The folks back in the kitchen were making the dough fly. Literally. We all found it very entertaining. Our food arrived and we got to work. The pizza was delicious. The perfect balance of gooey cheese, yummy red sauce, crispy pizza, and perfectly cooked pepperoni. Kiddo #1 said her baked ziti was delicious, but would not offer up a sample. Boo! Kiddo #2 offered a taste of the fettuccine Alfredo and it was dreamy. A tad different tasting from your typical Alfredo sauce, but it was amazingly excellent. The kiddo's friend inhaled the spaghetti. I am not sure she even tasted it. We paid our bill and were on our way! I highly recommend Mama Teresa's Flying pizza. The service (considering our party of 10) was amazing, the food was excellent, and our overall experience was outstanding. From now on when the fam and I come to the island, this will be a mandatory stop. Give this place a try. You will be glad you did! Enjoy!

The interior of the restaurant is small, but interesting. The pizza making portion of their kitchen is visible from the tables, so you can watch them as they make the pizzas. Our waiter was super friendly, and the service was excellent. We started off our meal with the fried mushroom appetizer. Usually, when you order fried mushrooms, you get an entire mushroom dipped in breading and fried. Here the mushrooms are chopped into chunks before breading and frying. It came with both marinara and ranch for dipping sauces. We loved having the smaller chunks, because if you've ever eaten fried mushrooms, you know that when you bite into them , the juice can sear your mouth. By using smaller chunks, it was much easier to eat, especially when piping hot. We were surprised that they didn't carry banana peppers as a topping for pizzas, but other than that, our pizza was fabulous! We deliberately bought a larger pizza than we needed, because we were looking for leftovers. The pizza heated up well the next day! We would highly recommend visiting Mama Teresa's!
