Most of his staff has been there for 30 or more years, so obviously they like working with him as well. After my daughter had two ankylosed teeth pulled by a local children's dentist, and it hurt her a lot, I switched her to Dr. Bettis. Yes, he's not an official children's dentist, but he was so gentle with the next two ankylosed teeth she needed pulled that she didn't even realize he had pulled them yet! His office interior is outdated and not necessarily color-coordinated like a lot of the newer offices. But that doesn't matter to me, because his dental work is excellent. I've encouraged many people who were terrified of the dentist, including my husband, to see him, and they are convinced that he's the gentlest, best dentist in town.

I got rid of my Medicare B which cost $318 a month for supposedly 80% coverage. I replaced it with 100% coverage including dental for both my wife and self costing $60 a month. That alone pays the $220 rent on my two bedroom/two bath house, plus the utilities. Then both my wife's older sister and her husband are physicians living 600 meters away, an aunt is an orthodontist living less than a kilometer away. Gee how my life changed. beyond that my wife's nephew is head of security at the airport, an uncle is governor of the province. Something I do find confusing is after a total of some 25 years fighting periodontal disease and cleaning 3 times yearly, the condition had finally shown some slight improvement on my last visit with Dr Soder. And since moving here it has corrected itself entirely. I had high blood pressure, tachycardia and depression in the US. All those are now gone. I had broken a knee cap at age 15 and prior to leaving the US used to limp up hill from the mail box. That too is gone. My BP is now 104/55, resting pulse 56. I work out at the gym 2 hours a day and bench press 110 kilos (242 pounds) for sets of 10 repetitions, in spite of carrying two AK-47 bullets in my torso for the past 49 years, plus a load of surgical hardware in my arm , the result of 8 bone surgeries for 45 years. I take no medications of any kind.Maybe not so much a miracle than simply being far away from VA Miscare. The changes began even before leaving the US when I quit treatment and medications from the Roseburg VA. I would really like to identify just why all my previous health problems corrected. My diet has definitely changed. I eat much like people here, fresh items grown without chemicals.and not processed. Perhaps just the freedom and happiness I now have. By 2010 relatives and friends in the US had died. So it was time to move on and as I did, acquire a new family. My wife is a professor of language at University of Costa Rica (Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and French) So, Dr Soder with a bit of showing for the gratitude over the years, you can expect to see a bag of coffee to arrive from Costa Rica. And I understand Starbucks is using an inferior coffee from here as the highest priced on their menu. The brand is Dota but for export most frequently labeled as Britt. Absolutely no one practicing dental procedures is more caring than Dr Soder. And he works with patients to give proper treatment with affordability.

Due to a head injury decades ago, I've been to cosmetic implantologists, oral surgeons, periodontists, several dental specialists of one ilk or another. Sone were very good, some not so much. Dr. Driver rises above the pack. She is incredibly skilled, abreast of all the new procedures, but most importantly, she listens, is gentle, and understands the anxieties that a woman with mouth complications might be experiencing. That compassion and excellence seem to exist in all if the hygienists, too. And the front desk staff are also pretty great. I was worried about a "small town" dental practice. But no more. I got scalped for at least $800.00 overpayment BECAUSE they didn't understand how my standard Medicare Supplement Dental rider works. I tried to explain when they scheduled me but the office lady knew more than me. I'm a licensed healthcare insurance broker and I make my living understanding that. She just couldn't be bothered to listen and wound up charging me $1,600 for what should be $800.

I'm terrified of all things dental…read more I was told I needed a root canal and I chose to come over from Coquille and see what roseburg had to offer. I met Dr Allen and instantly felt at ease. He has a great bedside manner and his staff was warm and friendly. I got my root canal. I have to say it was about as painless as could be. I also chose to have a sedative due to my anxiety and that helped a lot. Overall I am pleasantly surprised. I had minimal pain and I loved to tell the tale :) My only wish is that Dr Allen did regular dental stuff too because if he did, I'd make the journey from the coast to be a regular dental patient. I went to my dentist and he was very impressed with the root canal. One of the best he's every seen. If you need one, don't panic. If I can suck it up and do this, you can too and you'll like this doc a lot.
