I had always gotten my hair done in Manhattan and was wary of getting it done in the suburbs (was having nightmares of a chunky highlighted blond bob) but decided to give this place a try. I'm so so so glad I did! The space is immaculate and they have the proper procedures in place to safely get your hair done. There are 2 stylists and everyone had on a mask / I watched the spaces get cleaned in between clients. It's got great lighting and design and right next to the train station. She is extremely knowledgeable in all things hair and is super confident when she is speaking with you. She even started her own line of products. I really liked that she took the time to explain what she was going to do and my options. I needed some color correction and wanted something more bright. She got right to work! When I first walked through those doors, I was greeted with smiles and friendliness from the staff. Everyone says hello and asks "how are you"?. I was brought to the seating area, to wait for my stylist to come and bring me to her chair (throne more like because she is a goddess). Next, she had me undo my hair so she could get a good look at the color (previously dyed from another salon) and texture of my hair. She proceeded to ask a few questions like, do you have an idea in mind your looking to achieve or what were you looking to do with your hair? I had some pictures and ideas in mind which I showed her. She gave me the legalistic's of everything that I needed to be aware of transferring from blonde to red. She was able to answer my questions thoroughly and provide me with the step by step breakdown if I wanted to know further details. She brought out the booklet of colors and we chose from there. She explained to me before doing anything to my hair, what she was going to do, who was going to wash it, how many minutes I need the color in for, and what to expect after it is blown out (yes she did blow dry my hair). After everything was all set and done, she asked me if she could take pictures of my hair color and post it on social media (obv. I said of course). My hair looked awesome. It just keeps getting better and better every time I see her. I'm always satisfied when I leave there. I am never going to another salon again. This will be my place forever. Laura is a straight up artist -not exaggerating- and has completely transformed my hair. By my third appointment, she totally "gets" me, and I'd trust her to do anything to it. Since Laura started cutting my hair and doing Brazilian blowouts, I've received multiple compliments and have even had two different people ask to take a photo of my hair for reference. I wasn't sure how I'd like that setup since I'm so used to going to a salon where there are several other people and general commotion. I figured even if I didn't like it, it was worth it for the finished product (great hair!). I REALLY like her new spot though. I was surprised by how relaxing it was having that quiet time to unwind in her small space. She gives a killer head massage while shampooing, warm towels, Nespresso coffee, snacks... really goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are comfortable in whatever way suits them.
