Leaving my honest review below: I specifically booked a "haircut - curly," with the reasonable expectation that the stylist assigned would be experienced and trained in cutting curly hair. Unfortunately, the experience fell significantly below that expectation and caused my daughter considerable distress. Upon arrival, an assistant (or someone other than the primary stylist) began combing my daughter's dry, curly hair with a fine-tooth comb. This immediately caused pulling, tangling, and excessive frizz, and appeared to damage her hair. We asked that this stop, after which my daughter was taken for her wash. The wash itself lasted approximately 25 minutes, during which I am unclear what occurred, but it resulted in my daughter returning to the chair with her shirt completely soaked through. Following this, the haircut began, again using a fine-tooth comb on her curly hair. This continued to pull, snag, and create frizz. At one point, the comb was pulled so forcefully that my daughter cried out and began sobbing in the salon. At no point did the stylist communicate any discomfort or lack of experience working with curly hair. Had this been expressed, we would have preferred to stop the service altogether. I chose not to intervene further in the moment, as the salon was busy and I did not want to create a scene in front of my five-year-old child. I was extremely disappointed to then be charged over $80 for a "curly" haircut that resulted in significant frizz, distress, and an overall negative experience. This was not only upsetting for me as a parent, but painful and frightening for my child.

The booking process couldn't have been easier although you do need to download an app. There were plenty of appointments even when I looked the day before I wanted to schedule my blowout. There are several options that you can choose from from a basic blow out to an up-do. I chose the 45 minute blowout with iron work since I wanted loose beachy waves and I have a ton of hair. I booked my appointment with Desiree after reading previous yelp reviews and I couldn't have been happier with my hair! One of the best blow outs I've ever gotten. Had a really difficult experience with a stylist here. Another stylist had to come over to help, and I was ready to go along with what she recommended. Then the original stylist came back to my chair and twisted the entire conversation around -- insisting she had told me the exact same thing the other stylist just said, when she had not. She was loud and combative, and embarrassed me like I was the problem. Another client who didn't know the full context started verbally attacking me because the stylist's tone made it seem like I was the issue. The whole environment became so uncomfortable that in that moment I felt unsafe, and I just left. Two stars only because the stylist who actually tried to help me was kind and professional. Won't be back.
