This bozo then asks me to EXIT the Quiet Room AGAIN because she and her colleagues are UNABLE TO USE LIBRARY APPROPRIATE VOICES! I wish I could upload a recording of how loud and OBNOXIOUS they are so that those of you who see this could understand how insanely loud these Public Library working HAGS are! So again, if you actually need a quiet space to get some legitimate reading or studying done DO NOT COME TO TENAFLY PUBLIC LIBRARY! especially if you are a person of color because I am absolutely positive that if I was Caucasian that the response to me respectfully asking them to lower their voices so that I may study for an exam IN PEACE would have been received very differently. The library has undergone recent renovations, however still showing it's 60's architectural design. DVD's are available for (free?) rental, most recent titles as well as silent films.. I have only exercised the system once where i had a friendly libertarian order me a book from another. Remember to return you books on time, as I'm pretty sure they'll even take it on a CC now.. ;)

There are several seating areas, some with desks for working, some small rooms for group study, and club chairs to relax in. Fully half of the library is dedicated for children's books, which seems appropriate for the neighborhood. Free wifi is a nice perk. However, I was pretty upset that they didn't have the Economist in the periodical section. Plenty of other mags to enjoy, though. Happy reading!

The current location was opened in 1983. The library is on two floors and I a few hours at a desk upstairs where it was quiet and peaceful. Power outlets for charging, free wifi for surfing and working, and no interruptions other than a couple of kids who got shushed by the librarian. A more than pleasant time. Non-residents can use the library and the wifi. You only need to be a resident if you're wanting to borrow materials from the library. And they have more than books!
