The filtration system for my pool sprung a leak, I could tell it needed a new filter housing. The total came out to around $1000 which made sense ($700 parts, $200-300 labor) and they conveniently took a card payment by phone. Eric was knowledgeable, friendly, and cleaned up after better than I would've. I'll certainly use Flamingo the next time my pool breaks.

Our luck continued when Eric punctually showed up at our house to work on our skimmer and suction side flow that wasn't working. In less than 5 minutes, not only did Eric have the issue correctly diagnosed, but he was also able to keep his customer's cost in check by not recommending needless parts and labor. What completely amazed me was that Eric was sincerely interested in pleasing us and making us smile. He did this by taking some extra steps quickly that sped up the clearing of our pool, as well as sharing tips of knowledge that he has gained over many years of satisfying customers.. some of these tips were big and some were small.. let me just tell you to ask for the wite-out tip! This was one of the most satisfying and enjoyable meetings with a service provider that we have ever had. We highly recommend contacting and using this wonderful Company for your Pool Maintenance and Service needs as we will as future needs arise.

While I would rather give 5 star rating since this is veteran owned, three factors prevent doing…read moreso. Off the top, I would like to say that they're knowledgeable. 1) All the staff push chlorine every week. I've stated to them my wish to avoid over chlorinating for obvious & health reasons and wanted to know what the level was when I took in the sample. "Just make it a habit to put in 2.5 gallons a week." Went to Pool Masters to find out no need and haven't needed for two weeks now. Pool is sparkling still and my eyes finally stopped burning over the weekend. 2) The $100 "Pool School" was not as comprehensive as projected thus anticipated. I asked loads of questions and was told I'd get all the answers during pool school. Unfortunately not, but I will say that calling and asking additional questions afterward was met with responsiveness and direct answers. I did get the impression that "Pool School" would have been better if I'd previously maintained a pool and knew all the terminology. Didn't recall anything after 15 years of not owning a pool. 3) One of the containers I bought with the house leaked when I transported it back from their store full of chlorine. Thankfully it was in a box or it would have ruined the black interior. One of the owners (the one that conducted the "Pool School") response was: "Well, didn't you get it for free from the previous owner?" Nope, I bought it. That was the final nail in the coffin. Overall: The prices are fair and competitive. There have been times where responses have been less than positive (one example above). There's room for improvement. IMHO: three stars is being generous. I'm hoping they'll read this and consider it an opportunity. 27May20 (8 days on): I have dropped the rating to a two star. I went in to check on a rebate due to me for a pool vacuum. There were no customers and thought it a good time to speak with the above mentioned owner this review. The owner stood his ground that shocking a pool each week is necessary and recommended even by the state of Florida and that he could prove it. I encouraged him and would have loved to have seen proof. He went to his computer, but I never saw anything. He only mentioned Lesley Pools (have no clue what Lesley pools has to do with proving anything). He didn't even read anything. I asked why the other pool professionals I spoke with at two different pool companies said it's not necessary to dump 2.5 gallons of chlorine each week, that testing was the key to what's needed before adding anything. HIS response was that they are probably not pool professionals and misleading me to make them look bad. Since returning home, I've not found any basis or proof of his claim that 2.5 gallons dumped in the pool each week was necessary or required. In fact, I've found the opposite. My pool hasn't required anything other than a chlorine tablet each week, a small amount of muriatic acid and it is sparking clean and thankfully no burning eyes. Please do your research! Do not trust anyone who will burn you - Literally and figuratively

fyi…read more.. i called last week and dropped a local pool company after 5 years and called you guys when i had a problem with my pool pump.  i spoke with kurtis which truly sold me your company and made me feel it was the right decision to make the switch to pinch-a-penny.  after explaining everything to him, he set an appointment up with a field tech for monday and he has me set up every tuesday with his brother kevin for service.   just met mike your field guy. i am in all caps intentionally because i am extremely happy with the service i just recieved.  mike gave me a call 10 minutes before he arrived.  (i don't know if this is a policy of yours but i requested it... i am disabled, a veretan, us navy... i don't get around as quickly as most and i often am caught taking a "nap" due to serious pain medications i'm on) so this phone call is something that i am not used to getting with my old service.  100% professional.  just got a good feeling about this guy as soon as i met him.  i explained i was with another company for the last 5 years and was not happy.  i told him what my issues were today & he looked right into it. a few minutes later he not only informed me that my concerns were not as bad as i'd had thought.... but showed me i had some other areas of concern that i had better take care of asap.  i authorized him to do what he needed to do plus he did a few other things as well as show me how to operate our pool system (which the other company never did)  mike went above and beyond for me today.  especially not really knowing me.  i know i'm his customer, but he really stepped up today & i wanted his people to know that. thank you. chris, dawn & mitch parker
