Luckily I happened to be talking to my daughter who mentioned that her former coworkers who had eye issues went here and were pleased with the treatment they received. I called to see if they had any appts for the afternoon (it was a Friday). They asked what my issue was and after telling them, they told me to come right over. Now getting there was interesting. I was coming from the south and Waze told me at the Sample Road exit, to take the 2 left lanes and make a left. Well, when you do that, you've passed the place because the entrance is further east. I had to do a U-turn. It was still a little confusing because there isn't any signage that tells you that the first entrance once you make the U-turn is where you need to enter. They're doing construction at the hospital which makes it even more confusing. I finally made it and entered the building. Their office is on the 2nd floor. I got checked in and filled out the required paperwork. They were concerned that my retina detached but after viewing the images that were taken, that didn't happen. Dillon, who did the images of my eyes, was very personable with a great sense of humor. The female doctor whom I saw (I don't remember her name) was also fantastic. She got an eyeball to show and explain what was happening with my eye. I was there for about 3 hours which seems like the average time that I've spent at my regular eye doctor's office.

As I first walked in, someone by the desk greeted me and directed me to the floor I needed to be. I gave my name and that's all it took. A very efficient office. Each floor had a nice waiting area. It was a large area. It was nicely decorated. They had a water fountain and coffee machine on each floor. They also had multiple TVs. The waiting to be seen was not long for me; however, the exam took a few hours. I was taken from room to room to floor. The staff was great. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I got a full explanation from a doctor and options. I recommend this place. I got to meet the famous Dr. Rand by the elevator and that was so cool.

It tore my cornea and had I not gone to Dr. Mao who sent me for emergency surgery, I would be blind in that eye today. Dr. Mao is a sweet. She is caring and has such a pleasant personality. Over the years my whole family now goes to her. She takes care of all of us! I also like the Acker Kasten Group that she is affiliated with. The are Christians and pray for their patients. You can't believe how wonderful this is. It settles their minds prior to surgery and shows their compassion. There have been times when I waited longer than I had time for. I was just pushed from room to room with no explanations about anything. I was hesitant to go ahead but went in for my cataract preop, where I was informed that my copay for basic lenses with no Lazer was $1900 per eye. I was unable look this up as there is no internet in his office. I agreed to pay for one ( my bad left) eye, and wait on the other. As soon as I left the office I opened my Humana app and found that I was completely covered for a basic lens. I called Humana to double check and they affirmed and said they would be calling Dr Bellote. I then opened my surgery folder and saw that he was planning to do my good eye which would have left me in a real bind. I'm writing this in hope that I can save other seniors from getting any where near this doctor. He may have been good in the past. But I assure you that his big smile and fluffy little dog are just means of scamming old people out of their savings ( no better than the scammers on line these days)

I was looking for a top rated ophthalmologist to perform my Cataract Surgery here in Boca Raton. I…read morefound Dr. Bellotte as the highest and most rated ophthalmologist in Boca Raton on both Google and Yelp and decided to look into it. After visiting his website and reading all his achievements, I was very impressed and decided to give his West Boca Eye Center a call. They immediately scheduled me to see him and I was happy with his immediate availability. While visiting his office, I was impressed by the well designed office, the ample size of the office as well as the amount of friendly and knowledgeable staff. When I finally met Dr. Bellotte, he was very friendly with lots of expertise. He didn't push me into any particular lens or operating procedure but simply gave me options and prices accordingly for me to decide. After choosing the best lens and procedure available, with lots of pay options to choose from (went with the Care Credit Card), I booked the operation a week later and put it on the card. When it came to the operation itself, it went very smoothly, about 30mins to fill out forms, 10-15 mins for eye drops and ivy fluids, about 10-15mins for the entire operation, and then an hour or so for recovery before pickup to go home. Initial recovery after the operation was literally 24 hours, with better eye sight right away and full recovery about a week later. Each day after the operation, my eye sight would improve, and at follow up the center said no complications were present. I of course expected the best of recovery since Dr. Bellotte has been awarded a 99% safety award with his procedures. I ended up doing both eyes, and now I'm at 20/20 vision at my senior age and no need to wear glasses for both close up or distance vision, after decades of wearing glasses. I can't thank Dr. Bellotte enough for my new eyes and am recommending my son to do his Laser Vitreolysis (Laser Floater Removal) with Dr. Bellotte as well. In conclusion, after reading all the 5-star reviews, I now find myself writing one as well and it's well deserved. A+ for Dr. Bellotte and his staff from a very grateful and satisfied patient.

But if you actually care about receiving competent medical advice and basic human decency, stay far away from this clinic. I was not the patient, but I accompanied them. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Kirschenbaum had no interest in listening. When the patient tried to ask about amblyopia, Kirschenbaum cut them off mid-sentence--repeatedly--insisting their concerns were nonsense and brushing off everything as "just dry eyes." Not only was this dismissive and unhelpful, but it was factually incorrect. Since then, we've consulted two other specialists--both of whom treated us with far more respect and actually addressed the issue. To make matters worse, Kirschenbaum spewed outright falsehoods, claiming that standard therapy doesn't work for adults. That is blatantly untrue, as even the NIH confirms (see link below). How someone this uninformed and arrogant is still practicing is beyond me. Kirschenbaum, your bedside manner is appalling, your knowledge is outdated, and your attitude is disgraceful. Seeing the patient reduced to frustrated tears because of your incompetence was infuriating.
