But if you actually care about receiving competent medical advice and basic human decency, stay far away from this clinic. I was not the patient, but I accompanied them. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Kirschenbaum had no interest in listening. When the patient tried to ask about amblyopia, Kirschenbaum cut them off mid-sentence--repeatedly--insisting their concerns were nonsense and brushing off everything as "just dry eyes." Not only was this dismissive and unhelpful, but it was factually incorrect. Since then, we've consulted two other specialists--both of whom treated us with far more respect and actually addressed the issue. To make matters worse, Kirschenbaum spewed outright falsehoods, claiming that standard therapy doesn't work for adults. That is blatantly untrue, as even the NIH confirms (see link below). How someone this uninformed and arrogant is still practicing is beyond me. Kirschenbaum, your bedside manner is appalling, your knowledge is outdated, and your attitude is disgraceful. Seeing the patient reduced to frustrated tears because of your incompetence was infuriating. Luckily I happened to be talking to my daughter who mentioned that her former coworkers who had eye issues went here and were pleased with the treatment they received. I called to see if they had any appts for the afternoon (it was a Friday). They asked what my issue was and after telling them, they told me to come right over. Now getting there was interesting. I was coming from the south and Waze told me at the Sample Road exit, to take the 2 left lanes and make a left. Well, when you do that, you've passed the place because the entrance is further east. I had to do a U-turn. It was still a little confusing because there isn't any signage that tells you that the first entrance once you make the U-turn is where you need to enter. They're doing construction at the hospital which makes it even more confusing. I finally made it and entered the building. Their office is on the 2nd floor. I got checked in and filled out the required paperwork. They were concerned that my retina detached but after viewing the images that were taken, that didn't happen. Dillon, who did the images of my eyes, was very personable with a great sense of humor. The female doctor whom I saw (I don't remember her name) was also fantastic. She got an eyeball to show and explain what was happening with my eye. I was there for about 3 hours which seems like the average time that I've spent at my regular eye doctor's office.

It was a large area. It was nicely decorated. They had a water fountain and coffee machine on each floor. They also had multiple TVs. The waiting to be seen was not long for me; however, the exam took a few hours. I was taken from room to room to floor. The staff was great. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I got a full explanation from a doctor and options. I recommend this place. I got to meet the famous Dr. Rand by the elevator and that was so cool.

I never got to see dr Nolan because after having my eyes dialated and treated like that I walked out. Prior to walking out I told the tech just how bad she treated me. She didn't care. With such an important part of the body the eyes- she was terrible. I drove home eyes dialated and could hardly see. Don't know if dr Nolan is any good but if the office staff is a chip off the old Block and you don't like being uncomfortable and treated so poorly stay far away from this practice. BTW I was referred to this practice from my concierge primary dr. Whom I will be contacting to explain this awful experience and request a new eye dr. Stay away and find a better ophthalmologist. He is also, besides being tops in his profession, a downright nice guy and a perfect gentleman in the most classic sense of the word. It has been Dr, Rand who has been saving my vision. He performed both cataract and Desek cornea surgery on me with outstanding success. Further with his associates at his Rand Eye Institute managed to arrest the progression of my right eye dry macular degeneration. I hardly have words of high enough praise for Dr. Rand or thanks for all he has done for me. Five Stars for a Five Star doctor!

Elgut who, besides himself being an ophthalmologist also has a specialty in retinology. Though he ended up in turn having to refer me to another physician specializing in matters having to do with the macula, he did manage to rule out a lot of problems that might have been with my retina. During my visits, being several, I was most impressed with Dr. Elgut's mannerly professionalism and, though his office was packed with patients, thoroughness of his exams, willingness to listen and take time with me. Best off, when he was unable to make a determination of the situation, he said so, then when on to make a referral and event set up an appointment for me with a person who thought might be able to help, which I thought was really great. Too often I've sort of been confronted with unknowing medical guesswork, but there was none of that with Dr. Elgut. The only downside is that Dr. Elgut is very popular as a physician, hence highly sought after. So, the lines, wait times and matters dealing with an overburdened office staff can become somewhat trying.
