My last 2 vehicles were bought new from Lee Dodge. For the most part I've been satisfied or I would not continue to return. That said, my satisfaction with the service department is entirely tied to 'my guy' there. My DISsatisfaction is derived from my feeling that the actual service is not great. It's that tired old sensation of knowing your vehicle is not performing as it has been and then being told there's nothing wrong with it. I KNOW there's something different, you can't fool me! In the 'my guy' pulls it out for me by making sure I don't pay more than my time for a service I'm not thrilled with. read more

I will NEVER EVER go back to have my Jeep worked on at the Westbrook location. By far the worst I've ever had to deal with. These so called "jeep mechanics" don't have any clue what they are doing and had my jeep 4 months after my accident and still could not fix it right to this day! I had a bent control arm, shifted driveshaft, my alignment didn't line up at the collision center so I bring it to them, i needed a whole new axle. Then was told everything was fine, except my 4wd wasn't even linked up... I, a female, was the one finding all the problems and I don't work on Jeeps but I knew more about my jeep than they did. I bought my Jeep Wrangler at Lee Automall in Westbrook in August 2013. A brand new Jeep and over the years maintained it according to recommended guidelines. This past August I brought my Jeep back for a tire rotation and oil change, the Jeep had 39,000 miles on it. When I drove the car out and got on 95 the car wouldn't accelerate and I could smell something burning. I immediately returned the car to Lee and it smelled so hot that sales people came into the garage to determine where the smell was coming from. The techs looked at the car and said my brakes were locked up and the car couldn't be driven. This was on a Friday and they stated they couldn't work on it until the following week, so I was left w no car. When I talked to the service agent that first checked me in, he said they weren't responsible for the damage, it was my responsibility. I explained that when I drove the car in, it was fine and when I drive it out the brakes are bad. He continued to deny they were responsible for the needed repair. I asked to speak to the service manager, Josh McDermott and he again said that Lee had no responsibility for the brakes (brakes that were fine when I drove the car in!). They put new brakes on the car that I HAD to pay for because they continued stating it wasn't them. I drove the car for a month and every time I accelerated to 50 mph and higher the car shook so bad I had to pull off the road. Since I no longer had faith in Lee I took my Jeep to a different Jeep dealer, MacDonalds in Bridgeton. When MacDonalds checked the car over they found the front end wasn't aligned correctly. So they began to re-align the car and found the lug-nut tool wasn't in the car, Lee had never returned it to the car. So now MacDonalds will have to break the lug-nut lock on all 4 wheels and replace with unlockable lug-nuts! I'm taking the time to inform any Jeep owners to by-pass Lee Auto Mall for sales and service, since the service I received was carelessly dangerous and they took no responsibility for their mistakes. Stay Clear of these guys in Westbrook!!! read more

Do research before stopping by, it could save you a lot of issues and don't go in alone if you don't want to get taken advantage of especially in the service center. I will not recommend this dealership to anyone because of the treatment I received from the beginning to the end. They lie, do shady things to your vehicle, harass you, ignore you, place blame by assumptions if they feel you don't have a backbone and don't understand your consumer rights. WORST sales team EVER!!! I called and made a deal for a truck @ 2:30 this past Friday afternoon, I was preapproved for $70,000 dollars BEFORE I called to make the deal. I told the salesman this and that my credit score was in the 700's. I even offered to put $$ down to hold it until I could get there today (04222017). The salesman left a voice mail on my cell phone at 7:30 PM (After they had closed for the evening) telling me that the truck had been sold. VERY POOR business model. I thought that the sales person that sold me my car, and the maintenance people were generally very nice. But, there are some major issues here. This is just one person's anecdote, so take it for what it is. I bought a new Jeep in 2012, and was able to pay it off in 3 years, but then ended up putting in about $6K in repairs that weren't covered by the warranty. Perhaps this is more a problem with Jeep than Lee Auto Mall. Unfortunately, I've had several unfortunate experiences bringing my car for maintenance. The estimated time the maintenance will take has always been an underestimate, and I've spent way too many hours of my life in the waiting room listening to Fox and Friends or some other inane talk show. I'm particularly salty today after working an overnight shift when what should have been a 45 minute visit is going on 2.5 hours. And, I'm not really surprised. Also, I was made a bogus offer to buy my car in exchange for an upgrade. The offer was ~$6K below the Kelly Blue Book Value, then the sales person I interacted with that day was all huffy like I had wasted their time considering it. I don't think there are any intentional shenanigans here, I've just had a particularly bad experience. I would not come back here, and I will not buy another Jeep. read more

I am very particular over the care of my 2011 Dodge Charger, I need an engine mount replaced and after comparing reviews of service departments at various Dodge dealerships, Lee had the best feedback so I gave them a call. Whomever I spoke to wasn't taking my word that my engine mount was bad and insisted that I come in and authorize one hour of diagnostic work to verify the engine mount. I was told that the shop rate is $118.00 per hour, that's a lot of money to give them just to verify what I already know. At the minimum, that one hour of time should be credited towards the actual repair while the vehicle is in the service bay, if I chose not to have Lee service perform the work then the one hour diagnostics fee would be justified. If I went to Lee's service and wanted new tires, do they charge one hour of diagnostic time to verify my tires need to be replaced? They lost work because of a bad policy towards verifying required service (especially when the customer already knows what needs to be done). I have no problem paying dealership rates for quality care but I am not looking to be taken advantage of either, I still need the work done but I will keep looking for a responsible shop interested in the care of my vehicle not just what's in my wallet. read more

If I could I would rate them less than 1 star. Recently discovered they have been ripping me off for several years for repairs, that I either didn't really need or that they vastly over charged for. They quoted me almost $900 to replace bushings and sway bar on my Jeep, and in talking with other mechanics found out you almost never need to replace a sway bar unless you've been in an accident (I had not, nor had I asked for them to check for any issues related to vibration or shaking while driving it). I took it to another mechanic for an estimate and they said not only is the sway bar fine but the bushings aren't the least bit worn down and this new mechanic found while balancing my tires that whoever had done it before had not put one of the weights back in one of the tires, Lee was the only ones that ever touched my tires previously. Lee also quoted me $450 to replace the plastic tail light assembly. Which you can buy online for $56 and it literally pops off the vehicle in 2 minutes flat. They replaced a tail light bulb for me and then it still didn't work and they said it must be electrical and they'd have to go through the cars whole system. I didn't have time, so took it home and found the problem myself in about 10 min, and it now works fine. Glad I never followed through on these repairs with them, but am now thinking the many others over the years that have cost me thousands were all bullshit. I will never set foot in this place again. How many other honest hardworking people have they ripped off? People barely making ends meet who scrape together to repair things that are probably made up. read more

I've had nothing but superior service from Lee Dodge in Westbrook. Chet Tetreault has been an excellent resource to work with. He goes above and beyond and has treated me exceptionally well. He worked tirelessly with my protection plan insurer when my motor went and got every dime he could from them, leaving me with very little out of pocket expenses. I'm so appreciative and thankful to have had him on my side with this. When I'm ready to trade up, I'll definitely be going back to Lee Dodge! You guys are awesome! read more

Lee Auto tried the bait and switch on me twice. Once on the trade in, so I sold my car private party instead. Their online trade in quote is a scam to get you in the store. Online they offered me 14K (or more), but when I got there the story changed and they would only do 9K. After I sold my car myself, my wife went in to give them a try on a straight purchase. They wanted to sell me a Rav4, but the price and fees were just too high. They called me a week later about two cars my wife saw. They kept presenting an abnoxious blue one along with the silver one we were interested in. Five days after her visit, they said they would meet her price of 20,500 on her choice silver car or an extra 500 off the ugly blue one. I said ok to the silver one if they would reduce their overpriced doc fees. I made it clear we had no interest in the blue. They agreed so I drove in to sign papers. When our family got there, the salesman told me the deal was only for the blue one we didn't want. This was after he told me he was discounting the silver one 1500 plus reducing the doc fee $200. Classic bait and switch. He tried to tell me the silver car was as low as they could go at the original price they gave on the first visit, less the 200 on the doc fees. The sales manager apologized for the miscommunication. There was no miscommunication, only misrepresentation. I won't waste another trip to Lee Auto Mall in Westbrook. I was about to purchase two cars, but they have lost my business and my companies business for life. Nice work, Lee. read more

Disgusted! I've purchased other vehicles from Lee in the past. Last year I purchased a used Jeep Cherokee with no trade in and I put $3000 down. Now I go to trade in the Jeep on a different vehicle and it's worth over $7000 less than what I owe on it. Conclusion: I paid way too much for the vehicle! I confronted them on this and they stammered and tried to apologize. They rooked me, a repeat customer. Go someplace else where you can get an honest deal (assuming that's possible.) read more

We went to Lee Auto Sales in Saco 3 years ago and tried to buy a Grand Prix. They called the next day and said that it wasn't any longer available. They gave us a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. Certainly not what we wanted but we were desperate for a vehicle as our other one stopped working. We have put under 20,000 miles on this car and now it will take almost $1000 to get it to pass inspection. It was a lemon when we got it and still is to this day. We took the car to Lee Auto in Westbrook to get it inspected. Before we were told it wouldn't pass inspection we were whisked into someone's office to try and sell us a new car. We asked if there was a problem with the inspection and was told they didn't know they needed to touch base with the Service Department. Before they did that another salesman came into the office and the first person informed him that our car wouldn't pass inspection. This was the first we had heard even though we had asked before if there was a problem. Again we were whisked off to the other salesman's office to again try and sell us a car (probably prudent given that our car would cost so much to fix). We went through the process and found out that we owe more on our car than they could give us. Fair enough but instead of trying to figure an option for us, they pretty much kicked us to the curb. Worst feeling I've ever experienced buying a car. I will never buy another vehicle from this company! read more

My Chrysler developed an intermittent misfire while far from home. I made the mistake of trusting this dealership repair shop. After leaving the minivan with them, I received two calls stating obvious wrong claims, first, that my valve covers leaked badly. No, my Town & Country uses one pint of oil every 1000 miles and the valve covers were fine, not bad after 198,000 miles on it. Secondly, that I needed a new intake manifold and both heads replaced, and a fuel injector. I declined, so they reassembled the motor, charged me $1592, and returned the van in the same condition as when I took it to them. I sputtered my way to a different shop, where I was told I was merely describing a bare or broken wire problem. Exactly! The broken wire was spliced and I am on my way again, minus a lot of money and trust. read more

I never really review things, and the mere fact that I am should be considered when you try to determine how much weight to offer this review. I don't really understand. I bought a used car from Lee in January of 2015. I was told to bring the car back the following week in order to get the inspection sticker, so I set up an appointment for the very next week. I was told I had to wait 2 hours when I arrived even though I had an appointment. When my car was finally returned to me, the parking brake light seemed to stay on, and the brake didn't hold. It would seem to me, that a car without a functioning parking brake should not have just passed the state inspection. The inspection took so long that I was told I would have to call and schedule another appointment in order to have my parking brake checked out. Following another visit (and several hour wait), I was informed that I would have to wait for the brake handle to be ordered. I have never received any calls about the part or repair. I have called twice to inquire about it and both times I was told that they didn't think that I wanted the part ordered, but they would order it. It is now June, it has been 6 months since I had the car inspected and I still have not heard anything. I don't know what is going on over there, but I definitely would not recommend Lee's service department to anyone for anything. It is too bad too, because I was recently involved in an accident that wasn't my fault and I am trying to find a good, reliable repair shop. I really wish that I thought these guys could handle it. read more

The customer service begins to fade after they make the sale. Questions I had after purchase were brushed aside. My sales person has not seemed to want to assist any longer after making the sale. The delivery was rushed. And my salesman attempted to influence the survey by telling me it affects his pay, and repeatedly telling me how much money they lost on the sale. Overall, happy with the vehicle so far but I would absolutely not do business with them again. I had the complete opposite experience with service. I travel cross country in a dodge sprinter chassis motorhome, and I've been in plenty of dealerships while traveling and in my home town of reno, nv. I have never walked out with a tab of less than $150 even if just an oil change. These guys were efficient, helpful and just told me to put my credit card away. In all honesty, I did have a pre-paid coupon for the oil change, but was prepared to hear they wouldn't honor it or some huge charge for something else. Not a dime!! I found them to be great and would strongly recommend their service dept. Not many dealerships will even service my rig, so kudos. read more

The service people are nice, and the sales people are nice. Because they're the ones that take your money. As for the mechanics, I think they don't give a crap. Had work done to the truck I bought from there, then brought it in again because what they fixed failed. Then brought it in again, because another thing they fixed failed. I would've done it myself if I had the time, it was the only time I actually paid for service, and I definitely paid for it. This has happened to me for both vehicles I've purchased from them. I received a recall notice regarding my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Lee auto kept calling and so I called to set up an appointment I had bee told to ask for Erica. Erica seemed less than thrilled to be speaking with me, there was an undeniable sound of annoyance in her voice while scheduling an appointment. I was left feeling hesitant to bring my vehicle in. Wanting my car to be safe, I brought the vehicle in to have the two recalls taken care of. One repair was related to the the ignition. I was there the first week in September I was told it would be an hour & a half. I sat for 3 hours and was told their computers were down. I receive no documentation on what was done to my car so I called the next day to request they mail me documentation as to what was done for work. The employee I spoke to was clearly irritated by my request I stated he could email it or mail it, whichever would be easier for him. He stated he had no problem mailing it, so I confirmed my address & never received anything. Five days following the "repair" I was leaving soccer practice with my 5 & 7 year olds and my car won't start. I finally got it started after 15 minutes and called Lee again the next day, made an appointment for the next Tuesday morning- the car the had no issues so I called the morning of the appointment to see if I should still bring it in. I was told if it starting and there are no warning lights on there is nothing they can do for me. Fast forward to today and my car is not starting! I again call Lee and they tell me to have it towed or try "wiggling the terminal because Jeeps are known for corrosion." My car was inspected in August and has never had an issue until Lee got its hands on it! This has been an incredibly disappointing experience and I don't trust this auto repair shop. The lack of professional customer service and what I believe to be faulty mechanical work leaves me to advise others to find somewhere else to have their cars repaired. My car has been towed to the local mechanic I have trusted for years. Thanks for nothing Lee Auto. read more

Beware of this dealership! I made an appointment to look at a used vehicle with the intent of trading in my current vehicle should I decide to purchase. The saleswoman was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly but when it came down to the numbers she didn't hesitate to attempt to pull a fast one on me. I offered to pay a certain amount out the door with the payoff of my current vehicle as part of the deal (I should note that I did not lowball the dealership or offer an innapropriate amount - I have done my research and come from a family of vehicle enthusiasts. My vehicle is valued at more than what I owe on it and while I am aware that a trade in is lower than what you would get for the vehicle through a private sale, what was offered was 1/3 of my vehicles current value based on NADA, Kelly Blue Book, and my banking institution). They then came back to me with a final price that included the "trade in" discount but then further down the paperwork contained the added figure of the payoff amount for my vehicle worked into that final number - essentially they would be getting my vehicle for free while attaching the "payoff" amount into MY new loan. It didn't sit right with myself nor with both my husband and my bank (who were both on the phone with me during this exchange) and they privately questioned the pricing practice in regards to this purchase. After I continually questioned the saleswoman as to why my payoff price was being included in the purchase price, the negotiations deteriorated pretty rapidly (had they truly been paying off my vehicle, it would have been a separate transaction entirely - they would pay my lien holder directly. By working that amount into the new sales price/loan I would still be paying that owed amount on top of the purchase price, thus negating any and all trade in/pay off value). The saleswoman then went and got a manager by the name of Adam who then proceeded to attempt to take control of the situation i.e. condescendingly speak to me and question as to where I was getting my numbers from as it very obviously didn't match up with their sales formula. When I pushed back and refused to accept the blatant attempts of diffusion/intentional misdirection, Adam accused me of being rude and proceeded to snatch the paperwork while stating that I would not be buying a vehicle there. Let me just say to Adam, a manger of the Westbrook location - THANK YOU! I found a vehicle in better condition with more options, less mileage, and most importantly straightforward pricing at a competitors dealership. I have to say my banking representative was flabbergasted at not only the way that you treated me but also by your intentionally misleading business tactics (she was listening to our conversations throughout the entire process, there was no "eternal hold time" as you called it). Should you be considering purchasing from this dealership, simply DON'T! I have visited many dealerships in the course of my search for a vehicle and can whole heartedly state this was the worst consumer experience I have EVER had. As a second time buyer from Lee auto, I expected to have the same Customer Service/car satisfaction that I had experienced in the past. This certainly has not been the case. I bought a 2003 Hyundai XG350 and since the first month have had nothing but issues with it. From my front/rear bumpers having to be bungee corded to remain intact, to replacing my transmission now to an electrical issue that has yet to be determined. A total of six repairs in house with many outside in the last 24 months. According to Lee, this is on the 'low end' for a used vehicle and is completely acceptable and not surprising to them. This is not the quality/service I expected when purchasing a used vehicle nor would many others. Needless to say, I have spent more money repairing this vehicle than it is even worth. Now, after only having the vehicle for 24 months, I am left with an unreliable, unsafe, worthless vehicle and a huge loan. I will never do business with Lee Auto again. read more

Yesterday, I was having trouble with my nearly new 2014 Jeep Cherokee which we had purchased from Lee with confidence. The car would not accelerate past 25 MPH. This had happened multiple times in the past, but I was told by Lee that the issue was simply because my oil was low. Considering that I have been into Lee for this issue almost every two or three months, that did not seem right. Little did I know that the car, the Jeep Cherokee, that I and many others had purchased can only go about one-thousand miles with getting an oil change due to a safety mechanism within the car. Lee told me that I could go at least 6,000 miles without changing oil. No wonder my car was breaking down every few months. This car is a 2014 that I bought brand new. Does that sound like the kind of car you would want to drive, or better yet, the kind of car you would want your children driving? No. The worst part is, when I called Lee to confront them about this major mechanical flaw in my vehicle not a single person would take my call. I was told they would call me back and they never did. I called multiple times and I either got excuses or no answer. At this point I was frustrated and fed up. I have purchased more than a few cars from Lee and have always been very satisfied with my service until yesterday. The lack of professional behavior and the absence of how to run a business is what put me over the edge. I showed up to Lee to pick up my car and speak to a manager, even after I told him how disappointed I was with my service they claimed that it was not their fault. It was no their fault they sold my a car they knew needed oil changes as often as a car made in the 1990s. It is also apparently not their fault none of the workers could answer my calls and tell me directly that my car has the oil life of a clunker I could have purchased for a quarter of what I paid for my Cherokee. They set a very bad example of how business is run in front of my children and that is probably the one thing that bothers me the most. I am thoroughly disappointed in my service and will not be returning to Lee or buying another jeep again. read more
