It's like something you see on the tv for a burger commercial. It's was nicely seasoned with fresh in house ingredients. The only downside I found was the bun was old and falling apart. Bacon cheeseburger with onion rings was the same except not so fresh ingredients that day and old bun, the onion rings were great, golden and crispy. Poutine Classic was fantastic, a good sized portion of crispy fries gravy and curds. Crispy Cod and fries were good and fairly messy because the fillet was bigger than the bun. Double order of fries and ketchup is probably my favorite. Fries are always crispy, golden and fresh. Lastly I had pizza. These slices are huge and they change flavors daily which is nice. It's a very popular item with hospital staff and surgeons. The crust is nice and crispy with thick soft slice edges and fresh ingredients. I had a slice of butter chicken which was spicy because of all the chopped jalapeños and a slice of cheese pizza. A definite buy again item. All in all this is a great kitchen to buy a meal from and I recommend it.

Told there were no beds, as I am bleeding profusely all over myself, the floor and garage cans near by. This is the worst so called hospital in the area. Anytime it would get worse, again I would be told there are no beds available, yet 2 people who came in after me; who were not in severe distress like I was. Were called in before me!!! My boyfriend had to come pick me up and take me to the Misericordia Hospital on the west end of Edmonton, AB. I was immediately put through triage and IMMEDIATELY put into the open ENT room. I was covered in blood, spitting into puke bags and this Hospital was so helpful. Westview health centre SHOULD NOT be considered or used as an Emergency hospital. I have had problems getting care here before many different times and had to leave and go to a different hospital that is actually a real hospital. If I ever need to call an ambulance again in the near future, I will demand to be taken into edmonton. I will refuse to go to Westview Health. If I was not poor, I would sue Westview health for whatever not giving proper emergency care would be. I will also tell anyone who asks me which hospital to go to, to NEVER go to the one in Stony Plain, AB. That you will basically be COMPLETELY IGNORED.

The OB/GYNs, MDs, anesthesiologists, nurses, front desk staff and volunteers were patient, compassionate, respectful and went above and beyond to keep me comfortable. I really appreciate the help and support I received from the Emergency doctors and nurses during my first trimester in pregnancy and made sure my baby is safe. Thank you Dr.Lawrence Lim and the nurses in the diabetic centre for all the follow-ups and check-ups to keep me and my baby safe. Thank you so very much Dr. Dana Rivet (OB/GYN) for close supervision and monitoring my pregnancy until delivery and Dr. Gupta (OB/GYN), she was masterful during the delivery and provided so much reassurance, encouragement and took great care of me and my baby. All the staff members at Misericordia Hospital were incredible. We would like to thank the special staff on in the Maternity ward. I want to give a huge, heartfelt thanks you to the nurses, they were kind, caring, compassionate, and honest about what my birthing experience was going to be like. There were difficult times during labor but you guys went above and beyond and aways responded with a smile. I truly appreciate that. Both Maternity ward and the postpartum care was amazing. The nurses and staff were incredibly helpful with our firstborn. The rooms were clean, modern, and quiet, making recovery so much easier. Also I would like to thank Dr. Mark Davidson (Paediatrician) for taking such good care of the baby. Misericordia Hospital staff including all the doctors, surgeons, nurses made my time memorable and the thought of this moment brings tears to my eyes. My husband and I were excited because with close supervision, my pregnancy went smoothly, and I was able to deliver our baby safe and sound at Misericordia Hospital. Previously Covenant Health removed a bench at the glass enclosure to prevent patients sitting to enjoy an outdoor break. They hired a Fork Lift to move 3 concrete flower pots to occupy standing space near the main entrance. They have gravel next to the sidewalk rather than grass to prevent those either walkers, or wheelchairs from stopping for a rest.

The palliative care team was excellent but I was extremely dismayed and disappointed by Dr. Rajoo's lack of cooperation to incorporate the palliative Doctor's recommendations for my husband's care . I was also somewhat disappointed that Dr. Rajoo did not make any effort to meet me in person even though my husband was in his care for more than a week and I was there every day except for one . Dr. Rajoo did call me once and he was not very kind , caring or diplomatic . My husband's wish was not to pass away in hospital but to remain at home if possible and when it became apparent that this was not possible due to the extent of the ravages of the cancer which was belaboring his brain function , lungs and liver then we were hoping that he would be able to at least go into the hospice but then that required a lessening of his care and we did not want him to decline faster than he already was as it was his wish to live as long as possible . The doctor however was determined to only give him hydromorphone which my husband did not respond to very well .we begged for other medications to be tried and the palliative care team said that he should have been allowed to have it as he was in end stage care and they said that he was to have anything that he needed . My husband has been a chronic user of marijuana for the better part of his adult life . It was one of the things that helped him to keep his appetite and to sleep and to stay calmer while he was being treated for the terminal cancer . They have a tablet that is made from the THC and would have made him feel much better also barring that I had asked for a different form of the opioid they were giving him which was the hydromorphone but they were adamant that the hydromorphone was the best that they could do . I found it very hard to deal with their idea of " care " and " compassion". This entire experience has been nothing short of brutal ! I would also like to mention the fact that the food is dreadful ! It is not even edible and it is so bad that it " stinks " and makes the patients that are already having issues with their appetite have even less of an appetite . The food is provided by an outside Institutional Service Provider . Nothing is fresh or even remotely nutritious except for perhaps some of the cooked frozen vegetables . Potatoes are box powder mix and so is the gravy . The soups are about the only thing that is palatable . I think that if they did an investigation into how much of that food is actually consumed they would find that most of it winds up in the garbage ! I find it deplorable that those who are dying are being fed such unappealing and unpalatable slop !

It's hard to write a review for a hospital, specifically for an emergency department, if you don't…read morevisit one very often as you don't really know what to expect and what SHOULD happen. But what I can tell you is that my experience left me a little ... wanting. I spent about 8 hours in the ER at Grey Nuns on Tuesday, January 23rd. I was brought there by ambulance from home due to severe pain. It was my first time in an ambulance and I was sort of surprised at the lack of care (initially) by the ambulance attendants. I can't say for sure, but I got the impression that they didn't believe me at first. At least, not until I started throwing up. Then they started giving me medication and asking more questions. (Did they think I was just trying to get drugs?) I did discover that taking an ambulance to the ER is better than walking in on your own. You still have to wait if you aren't an emergency, but YOU don't have to do much other than lie there in pain. The ambulance attendants have already taken all your info and pass that along to the hospital when you get there. Plus, they don't leave you until you've been officially admitted to the ER, so they're able to help you while you wait -- something I'm sure doesn't happen in the waiting room. Unfortunately, the 4 doses of pain meds while waiting didn't do anything to help the pain, but at least they tried! Once I was 'admitted' to the ER, I was initially given a cubicle and a bed. After maybe 30-45 minutes I was taken to get a CT scan and when I came back my cubicle and bed had been given to someone else and I was relegated to a chair (not even a reclining chair). I was actually more comfortable in the ER BEFORE I was admitted. I talked to about 4 different nurses who were all nice, but obviously very busy. I also talked to one doctor (before and after my CT scan) who never seemed to finish his sentences and who seemed really distracted. It was determined that I had a kidney stone and I was given some pretty strong pain meds. So strong that they made me almost completely incoherent. I couldn't keep my eyes open, let alone listen to instructions from anyone. While my pain was gone, and I had a diagnosis, that was pretty much all I had. I was there alone, so I had no one really helping me except the nurses, and there were super busy. Plus, once I had been diagnosed, they really wanted me out of there. I didn't mind this per se, I really wanted to be in my own bed, but I seriously do not believe I was in any condition to be released on my own with no assistance. The nurse provided me with a prescription to fill, but since I was unable to do that Tuesday night, she was able to provide me with some meds to hold me over until the next day (thank god). BUT, no one explained WHAT the meds were or what I should do next. No one mentioned if I was supposed to follow-up with a doctor or how long the pain would last and what I should do if it didn't go away. It wasn't really until the next day that I realize I had no real idea what happened while I was in the ER, other than the fact that I was diagnosed with a kidney stone. My pharmacist was able to explain what the drugs were for, but they obviously couldn't give me any details about my specific case. I ended up calling 811 on the Friday following my ER visit to ask the nurse what the heck I was supposed to do! She was NOT surprised by my call. She said she gets a lot of calls like mine. This seemed to indicate a systemic problem. My kidney stone finally passed, but not after I became sick on the meds and sat in a walk-in clinic for over an hour waiting to see a doctor who had no answers for me. As I look back I realize there are several things that could have made my visit to the ER more effective: 1. ERs need to send patients home with WRITTEN instructions. This is so basic, it's crazy. 2. ERs shouldn't discharge people who are on their own and have been given medications that do not allow them to function properly. I think these simple steps would not only provide a better experience for the patient but in the long run, would save AHS money. Not only did I spend 8 hours in the ER, but I also called 811 and went to a walk-in clinic. I wouldn't have had to do the last two things if I had been discharged from the ER with proper instructions. It seems so simple....

My beloved husband was lost to us during his negligent stay at this hospital, specifically Unit 53. Due to contracting COVID, My husband was admitted to the Grey Nuns Hospital on November 30th 2020.. I had no idea that would be the last day that I would touch him, have a face to face conversation, or just be with him. During the course of his stay we, his immediate family, were not allowed to visit with him at all: not in his room, not in the nursing area, not in the common areas, and not outside. Our only contact with him was via telephone. We repeatedly requested the opportunity to have an in person visit, but were repeatedly refused. When we asked why we could not have a single masked family member visit, were were continuously told "it is not allowed". On January 24th 2021, at 2:15 am a CODE BLUE was called. The code team was delayed in arriving to my husbands room, ostensibly "due to a lack of N95 masks near the room". When the code team finally arrived in my husbands room, nurses were at the bedside, However none of them were preforming CPR. The code team initiated chest compressions and the use of a bag valve mask, but to no avail - my husband was gone. HE WAS ALREADY COLD. I have no idea how long my husband may have been in distress prior to passing. I have not received a reasonable explanation as to why it took so long for hospital staff to notice that my husbands heart had stopped. I have not received reasonable explanation as to why my husbands heart rate monitor/alarm had been shut off or inoperative. I have not received a reasonable explanation as to why my husbands body was cold by the time hospital staff arrived and noticed that my husband was still, lifeless, and cold. To their shame, hospital management was allowing family members of other patients in the unit to have IN PERSON patient visits, yet our requests were arbitrarily refused. The chance to hold his hand, have a conversation looking into his eyes, and to hug and kiss him was torn away from me. The scars on my heart feel as though they will never heal. I have NEVER received a reasonable explanation from hospital management as to why we were denied visits while family members of other patients were allowed to do so. Sadly, senior management at the hospital appeared indifferent and callous when this issue was brought to their attention. I do not recommend that you allow your loved ones to be treated at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. If possible, take them to a different hospital where management cares about how patients and their families are treated.

They called the cops on me, RCMP officer showed up at my property violating my civil rights and threaten to shoot my dog if HE forced himself in my house! Threaten to arrest me if i didn't go in the ambulance! All this stress soon as I jump into the ambulance I had 3 EEG readings and I was NStemi! I was having a heart attack! They rushed me into the U of A hospital where I had to get a stent put into my heart! Stay away from this hospital! They are murders And they leak patient info out as well!
