Unintentionally, every time we visit my family in MD, it seems to have become a tradition to pick up a pizza from Ledo Pizza (LP) on our first night of arrival. It has been quite a number of years since our last pizza from LP as we lived in HI for 3 years and this is our first trip up to MD since moving to Savannah last year. This review will not have the usual subheadings I normally include with each review as I have not visited the establishment personally and was not the one to pick up the order. I have my husband and brother-in-law for that. This review covers only the food items ordered. - Eats - LP is known for their rectangular pizzas cut into squares and their flaky-like crusts. Not as flaky as a pie crust, but as close as flaky as a pizza crust can get. Personally, I'm more of the crisp-crust-with-a-chewy-interior-and-the-inflated-charred-bubbles-kinda-gal. 1/2 Cheese, 1/2 Hawaiian - no comment on this one, as I didn't taste it. I love pineapples, but not on my pizza. However, I've included a picture for you, in case you do. Pepperoni - there is a slice of pepp on each square they slice. The pepp curls up like a little bowl and then the oil of the pepp collects inside. Ledo Deluxe - this pizza is part of their Ledo Pizzas menu and it contains pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, hamburger and choice of regular bacon or pre-cooked bacon. We went with regular bacon and that turned out to be a mistake on my part. I guess regular just means they actually put raw bacon and let it cook with the pizza, because it came out pretty chewy. I imagine the pre-cooked comes a bit more crisp because it's precooked. The toppings were generously distributed on the pizza, but almost too much. The pizza dough underneath was cooked, but pretty soggy from the abundant toppings. Also, one thing I've noticed is that the mushrooms tasted like canned mushrooms which is pretty disappointing. The rest of my family does not care for mushrooms, so I take every opportunity I can to have it when we eat out, so when they are canned, it's so sad! From my experience, it seems that most pizza places in the US, seem to use canned mushrooms, unless it's a crafty pizza place, which is super disappointing. Italian Salad - nice variety of vegetables, with shredded cheese and bread pieces (I think that it's the same dough as the pizza crust). All in all, if you love pizza and your love has no limits, Ledo Pizza should not be ignored. Their crust is unique and they're pretty generous with their toppings. Until we visit MD again, see you next time LP!

It's a small restaurant in a shopping center very nicely decorated. My server Elmer greeted me right away with water and a menu. He explained that everything is homemade, even the desserts. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety across the board. I looked at the specials first l, I wish my wife had been with me because the salad special sounded great and we usually split one. The entrée specials also sounded really good. I was already thinking to myself I'd probably be back if this meal was solid. I usually order chicken parm when I go out for Italian, but I wanted to switch it up, so I went with the lasagna. Elmer told me I'd enjoy it and said the noodles and sauce were very good. Someone brought out bread with a garlic and oil mix. The bread was excellent crunchy outside, soft inside. The garlic and oil was good, but I'm more of a butter guy. I like a lot of butter on my bread, especially bread like that. When the lasagna came out, it looked amazing. The person who brought it asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese. I said no thanks I don't like changing the flavor unless I taste it first and feel like it needs it. First bite.....Excellent. The sauce had a lot of flavor, the noodles were tender, and there were a lot of layers had to be six or seven. Not like some places where you get three or four and mostly cheese. I ate the whole thing and used the bread to clean the plate. Elmer and the other servers kept checking in to see if I needed anything. I like seeing that kind of teamwork where everyone helps out, not just their own tables. Makes for a better experience and you're never waiting around if you need something. When I finished, Elmer asked if I wanted some of the "apple cobber." Funny thing -- when I first looked at the dessert menu, I noticed that typo and wondered if that was really the name. I asked him about it and he said it was a mistake and hadn't even noticed. I was surprised no one caught it before. I asked for the cobbler to go, but he actually recommended the tiramisu instead, so I took his suggestion. Later that evening I tried it and it was superb. Even my wife, who doesn't like coffee, liked the bite I gave her. While we were talking, Elmer gave me a sample of their espresso martini. I'm not big on cold coffee drinks, but it was actually pretty good. Definitely something I'd order there. Overall, one of the best Italian meals and service I've had and I'll definitely be back. I just wish it was closer to home if they opened up in Prince Frederick in Calvert County, I think they'd do great. Right now all we really have is Ledos Pizza

It's consistently tasty and well-seasoned, though a few times there were a few scales left on the skin. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. The vegetable side dishes tasted very fresh and complemented the meal nicely. And surprisingly, the mushroom risotto was actually really good, coming from someone who isn't usually a fan of mushrooms. Our son is a fan of noodles and enjoys the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. We've had the food delivered or we picked it up.

You climb a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. The inside is attractively decorated. Since it was a beautiful day, we chose to sit out on the covered porch, with views of the water. There were a number of parties there for Friday at lunch, but it was not full. We did not make a reservation for lunch, but I understand it is necessary at dinner. Our server was pleasant. We shared the fried green tomato appetizer (four slices, with marinara sauce & cheese). I ordered the chicken Milanese off the lighter menu. It was a fried cutlet, served with arugula and shaved parmesan, with a touch of a lemon dressing. Quite tasty. Others in the party ordered the lobster ravioli (which looked delicious) and the Bolognese. I would give the food five stars. There were a few hiccups with the service (having to repeat requests for bread, for a box for leftovers), but nothing that detracted from an overall nice experience. I would definitely go again.

Make sure to read the full description of each menu item as the short title doesn't do it justice. I ordered a braised short rib with risotto dish, which was amazing! But the short title was just "risotto", which I would have quickly dismissed without my friend mentioning the short rib in the description. We started with the calamari an appetizer. It had a nice crispy breading. They had deep fried jalapeños with it, which paired nicely with the calamari. Never had it like this before. The dish came out with a very generous portion of risotto and a large short rib on top. The rib was so tender that it fell right off the bone and you didn't need a knife to cut it up. So flavorful! The risotto was well flavored and have a nice creaminess to it. I could have shared this plate as it was very rich and filling. Service was admittedly slow, but I attribute that to our large group on a Wednesday evening.
