Similar to Samantha's review, Dr. Gargi left my mom and I in the dark for two weeks. She diagnosed…read moremy mom with terminal cancer and then proceeded to be out of the office when we needed to schedule a port installation and the following chemo treatments. Initially, she told us that the hospital more local to my mom's area would not take her insurance and do the chemo treatments there. She also told us that my mom had to get her port installed in West Covina. We would see her in Alta Dena but now that I'm seeing the address on this yelp page, it makes sense why she wanted us to go to West Covina. She also wanted us to go to her friend's infusion clinic in North Hollywood while she built her own clinic. In a city like LA, Dr. Gargi was making it out to seem like the resources were limited or everything was so spread out. Since our calls went unanswered, we arranged for my mom to meet with another oncologist but that appointment would take another 3 weeks and couldn't be rushed. My mom wound up in the ER because she was in pain again and she was able to meet her new oncologist since he worked there. After he found out everything that Dr. Gargi had told us, he was livid and we found out that the information about the port, insurance, and everything was a lie. This happened in 2022 and I am so sad to see that she continues to operate in this manner. Please do not go to her infusion clinic, do not take her advice, and switch doctors immediately. She will not treat you or your family with the respect, honesty, and consideration you deserve. This is a person that sees illness as a business and nothing more...I don't know if she ever ended up opening her own infusion clinic but I just think a lot more things can go under the radar in a place like that. So please be careful. I wish I had read reviews on her before we continued with her...Even if my mom's cancer was terminal, it would at least get my mom on chemo sooner rather than later. My heart goes out to everyone who has had a terrible experience with Dr. Gargi. Out of all the jobs you could choose to be bad at, I just wish it wasn't oncology.

My father was diagnosed with lung cancer in the hospital and referred by the pulmologist to Dr…read moreGargi. Our appointment was June 9 2023. She ordered stat/urgent labs and chest X-rays that day, that were done . We called back various days with no answer for results as my father didn't appear well. We waited finally on June 20 after no answer we reached out to the pulmologist for guidance. (Dr Gargi had stated in that appointment that he needed fluid removed from lungs and then she would do a pet scan urgently to know what treatment he could receive) After not receiving a call back from her we reached out to the pulmologist and she referred him to the hospital on June 20, 2023. When in the hospital I called and left messages various times to let Dr Gargi know my dad was in the hospital and what were the next steps as oncologist in the hospital was saying he needed treatment asap. Call was never returned until Today June 30 the office of Dr Gargi finally returned the call following up on my messages. My father had passed away on Tuesday June 27,2023. I told them what kind of treatment will you do on my father now that he passed away.

Went to City of Hope for treatment of stage 4 melanoma just over a year ago. I had a bad reaction…read moreto the imunotherapy medication, specifically Yervoy, which landed me in the hospital. I've since been informed how dangerous Yervoy can be. Another highly respected oncologist told us it is known a patient killer. My oncologist Dr. Xing was unavailable the entire time I was admitted due to the holidays, even though initially my wife and I were told she would always be available. Her nurse Deanna was rude and dismissive throughout my time there. Dr Xing never made an appearance, or made any attempt to contact us during my hospitalization. The attending doctors were treating my reaction to imunotherapy drugs with pain medication that sent me to the edge of liver failure. A simple google search of the side effects of these pain meds revealed that they were all toxic to the liver which was where the melanoma was. We had to demand they stop all the pain medication they were administering, against their advice of course. Once we made that decision I began a recovery over a few days & my liver enzyme numbers came back to a more normal level. At that point we decided to go to another institution because Dr Xing was going to start me again on the same protocol that almost killed me. A year later I'm doing much better, thanks to the care at UCLA. The tumor is shrinking under a different protocol. Please think twice before you choose Dr. Xing at city of Hope. I would not have survived had I stayed as a patient of hers & would have been just another statistic. I'm sure the "official" cause of death would have been the cancer, (which is now much better) and not the mismanagement of my symptoms of the imunotherapy treatment. If I could give a ZERO rating I would.

The doctors and nurses saved my life after I my surgery was put on hold by a private practice…read moredoctor. Had they not acted quickly and efficiently, I wouldn't be here.
