I love this place! I've been going here since I was a little girl. The current workers and staff members are really nice and polite. The ice cream is soooo good, in my opinion I love the traditional banana spilt for two people ! It's so yummy. The sitting area has always been a bit dirty tho but my family has always eaten in the car but there are two side where you can sit so we always end up in clean seats so no complaints here. The view tho is so pretty it's a big open field. It mostly get packed when it's time for sundown bc there's a very pretty view.

I found a hair in my ice cream the last time I went there. Won't be going back. Lots of handmade ice cream places to visit, instead.

Do not go here. Plenty of Richardson ice cream shops around with better people behind the counter.

Can't go wrong with ice cream from Richardson's! Prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are good. Definitely recommended!

Expensive. Blaring radio outside. Whizzing traffic. And did I mention expensive? Go to Stillwells instead.

There are a few tables with chairs inside to enjoy your treats. They offer a selection of NH made & regional products, "penny" candy, homemade chocolates, fudge, freeze dried candy, coastal Maine popcorn, teas, honey, 30+ flavors of homemade ice cream/frozen yogurt/sorbet including vegan flavors (cones, bowls, waffle cones, sundaes, floats, freezes, frappes), smoothies, bubble tea drinks, refreshers, mocktails, coffee drinks, cooler drinks, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, lobster rolls (seasonal), homemade salads, clam chowder, pasta dishes, and seafood. They also offer specials here (check their Facebook). There were no fried foods at the time of this posting (on pause), though they previously offered fried seafood & fries. I placed an online DD order to Audet's very recently since I had a promo and credits to use. My order was all set to go in about 45 minutes after placing my order back at my home. I took my time to head over to East Hampstead for pickup. My order was just about ready as I arrived. I ordered the Clams (with shell) Scampi ($21.95), The "NH" Wich ($10.95) with chips and a Small Homemade Cucumber Salad ($3.50) and headed back home to enjoy my food. The scampi had 10 littleneck clams in the shells of soft butter garlic fettuccine noodles with a soft dinner roll and seasoned broccoli & carrots on the side. The NH Wich had homemade chicken salad with small tender chicken pieces, cranberries, red onion, celery, dill, light mayo mix & leaf lettuce on soft egg bread. I actually toasted the bread slices and put the sandwich back together before eating. The side of salted chips were crunchy. The homemade cucumber salad had fresh cucumber slices, shredded carrot & dill in a light vinegar dressing. Overall, all of the food I ordered on this visit was very tasty and fresh. I will definitely have to stop back in again for some ice cream and other food offerings.

The hard ice cream seems like it comes from Bliss Dairy, similar to the other ice cream place in town. There is plastic picnic table seating with umbrellas in front of the trailer. I stopped by Josie's for a cold treat after having dinner. I ordered a Large Sundae ($8.50 plus tax) which includes choice of ice cream and choice of 3 toppings. I am aware the typical sundae is topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherry. However, I decided on Mud Pie ice cream, topped with Reeses peanut butter sauce, pineapple sauce and crushed peanuts. My sundae was made as ordered and ready in 5 minutes. This large sundae had plenty of hard scoop mud pie ice cream (coffee ice cream with chocolate cookie pieces and fudge swirl), dense peanut butter sauce, plenty of crushed sweet pineapple and lots of crushed peanuts. I enjoyed this sweet cold treat with my dark roast iced coffee. Overall, Josie's Ice Cream Stand is a good convenient place to stop for ice cream, especially on those hot days.

See, if you're familiar with their Derry location, then you'll understand how annoying their parking situation is. I mean, it's practically non-existent, par from the 5 or 6 tiny little spots inconveniently situated a mere two feet from an otherwise busy street with active traffic. So basically if you park nose-in, have fun trying to back out safely without inexorably causing an unprecedented collision. Suffice to say...that isn't the case here in Salem. I may start coming here from now on if I'm driving from home. Because the ice cream quality is basically the same, 'cept I don't have to dodge cars whilst parking just to acquire the tastiest of ice creams. Oh, and I thought I should mention they DO accept Apple/Google Pay and credit cards now. Or rather....they probably have for some time now. I read an earlier review that mentioned them only accepting cash and that they had an interior ATM on the premises. Never found that ATM though. But it didn't matter. That earlier review was over 7 years old. Yelp really oughta update the amenities section on this place. Anyways, the parking lot is big enough to fit a G6. So, if you want to go to a Moo's that's more accessible via car, come here. At least you won't have to stand in a line of people that damn near trails out into the middle of a busy street. What can I say? Sometimes it really is about the simpler things in life. Moo's in Salem gets 5 regular sized creamy Peanut Butter Cup ice creams out of 5.

Had a soft serve in a cup with chocolate dip. The cup was less than half full. Not at all what I've come to expect from Moo's. On Saturday night, we arrived at 8:15pm. There were 10 people in line. First order, they were out of Bada Bing Cherry. And told us two other flavors that were out. I've never seen Moo's out of flavors this early in the season. Two of our party ordered Sundaes. Barely had any fudge or peanut butter. It looked like they thin coated the edges, and that was it. After we paid for our order, the cashier "reminded" us that they close at 8pm. I said your website says your open until 9 to which she said, well that's wrong. It needs to be changed. Why is that the customers issue? Maybe is just early in the season, new staff, etc. But, it definitely feels different.
