Ok, I'm a professional pool player. I used to frequent this place when it was called Olympic…read moreBilliards in the 80's. Back then they only had 6 x 12 snooker tables. It was a great place to find a game. I have to say that now their tables are trash. Dead cushions, not leveled properly and absolutely way to dark. They have no over-hanging shrouded lights over the tables. Something I have never seen. Also they let you play darts for free but the board also has no lighting. You can't even read the numbers on the board, If you want to go to this place as a night out in a bar I would give it a two star rating, however if you are looking for a good pool hall you could definitely do better in Calgary. I vote this pool hall as a dud if you are a serious player,

I love going to this place on a Friday or Saturday night…read more 1.The beer is fairly well priced. 2. The Zymeta Video Jukebox isn't as good as the one at The Leather Pocket Pool Hall, but, it works well. 3. The past few times that I have been here, a DJ was playing some good stuff. Ok, so first with the good. 1. They have a couple bar boxes (3.5' x 7') and I believe, seven 4' x 8' tables. 2. The bar staff is very friendly, and are knowledgeable of pool (league players) 3. There is a good amount of distance between the tables, with only minimal space issues. 4. The tables are Red felt with Black bumpers. I thought it would throw off my game, but the tables are in good contition (with the odd pocket holes), fairly well level, and the rails have GREAT action. 5. If you are a regular, the guy behind the bar will sometimes pour you a shot or two, on the house. Not many places do this, and it's a very nice gesture. Now for the bad. I only have one, and it is a minor issue. 1. Holes in pockets. I know, it's a bar, and things get trashed...but every time I stop by, I am always noticing a new pocket with a major hole in it. Not very good when you pocket a ball, only to notice that it's bouncing and rolling halfway across the bar, and underneath someone else's table. If you ask the staff, they will gladly hand you some tape, or zipties to fix the pockets. But you can only do so much with the leather basketball hoop style pockets.....they are eventually going to wear out or get cut by some drunken clowns. I love coming here to hustle, or try to get hustled, because get all types of players on a fri/sat night. Overall, a great place, with loud music, and very friendly (not to mention that girl Sarah that works there is cute as hell!)

Met friends here for Wednesday Wing night! Found out that wing night is very popular with the…read morelocals. This was our first time at this pub. Who would have thought that a pub has over 100 different flavours of wings! From mild to extremely hot that you have to sign a waver before eating!! This establishment is not that big inside. Very rustic looking inside, more of a western feel with odd things scattered around. Like a Manikin in a corner, a machine that had a wizard inside that looked like the one in the movie BIG with Tom Hanks. Which looked very cool. As soon as we sat the server gave us menus and told us about special drinks and wings. Had a wonderful time even though it started to get very busy. After looking over the menu, we ordered Beer, Cesars, Wine for drinks and food was dill pickle wings, Applewood BBQ wings, Mango Chilli wings, Fry's and gravy. Must say everything was very delicious!! - located in a mini mall in a residential area - parking lot is very small shared with other businesses. We will definitely be returning!

I hope, fingers crossed, they are just finding their footing right now and are interested in improving their already characteristic business which could be on it's way up after 5 months of being open. (July 20, 2020). I KNOW you guys got this and I believe you have a gold mine on your hands, if you so choose. In the beginning... We had never heard of Wild Card until I happened to pop on the City of Airdrie's website looking at 'new businesses'. 'Wild Card Shack' struck me as a place we should know and like, so I Googled it. Website- Half built, only the menu available, no business hours, no promo's advertised. Facebook- Decent information available, no promo's, no business hours. Google- Leads to incomplete website, hours displayed wrong. Restaurant/ Pub- lots of unadvertised specials displayed, decent menu, hours displayed wrong (out front). Come on guys! Consistency among all your platforms please. 101! Where is your PR? It was a quiet Sunday at 12:30pm that we popped in for lunch. Service started well with our Server wearing a lower, plastic face mask. One table of 2 was already seated before us and another table of 2 came in about 30 min after us. Total= 3 tables (6 people). Drinks, great. Time to place order, decent. Wait to receive our order? Fifty five (55) minutes. I totally get the wait if the kitchen is busy, but this was not the case. The table behind us (who were there before we arrived) had to ask where their food was. Our Server had ditched her mask well before she delivered our food and didn't wear one for the rest of our visit. Lucky we didn't walk out in this day and age of CoVid. Food was both a blessing and a curse. The steak was done beautifully, the Monster burger, cooked to a perfect 'medium' (not sure if this was the cooks intention, some Canadians would have called the burger 'rare or underdone' and sent it back, but not us!) and the burger was dripping with bbq sauce (each patty seemed to be dipped in sauce). After 2 bites Hubs had to take a knife and fork to it. Not complaining about the size, it was just sloppily put together, without care. The fries, raw and flaccid. Sent back one order (I wasn't going to bother sending mine back even though I should have) and the second order came out the exact same way. We didn't eat any of the 3 orders of fries. Our Server gave us a 'staff discount' off the burger which was $2.85. SMH. Also, why are you serving chicken gravy with the steak sandwich or the aforementioned beef burger? Tons of character, great music, friendly-ish staff, tons of specials (can't really keep track) and the bathrooms were NOT pretty. Looking forward to when you get more established. With a little attention to detail you WILL be the best burger in the city. We will be back another time soon and hopefully with an updated review. It's 5:00 somewhere!

The place itself feels dated and divey but the service was really friendly. We had the nachos. They were pretty good. Kind of dry but even mediocre nachos are still good. This take it or leave it place is kind of nice as we don't have to go far to get a drink from the hotel. After checking into the Blackfoot Hotel, I walked from the west wing and right into the pub. Took a seat at the end of a small bar and looked around. Lots of locals hanging out, some shooting pool (they have 4 tables and a floozball) but mostly playing the VLT (video lottery terminal - pretty big here it seems). Was hungry and thirsty. They have a bunch of food and drinks on special. Ordered my pub grub and a few beers. Conversation with the staff was fun. There were less than friendly patrons who didn't like the only Asian guy in the pub monopolizing the local talent. I'm was there to have some fun and relax - it was a 14 hour day. If the "good ol'boys" take exception to my jovial nature - tough crap for them. The food is pub-food. Lots of grease and flavour - normally hot sauce and more hot sauce. Toss in generous pours of alCOOL and all is fine and dandy. If you would like the pub atmosphere but would like better food, you could ask really nicely to see if they can allow you to order the hotel restaurant food. All in all, minus the locals attitude, this is a good place to unwind. Cheers!
