We were clients of Leaside Dog Walkers for about six months. It was a great relationship until it became a terrible relationship.
We chose Leaside because they're a small and eager company that offers solo walks. Our dog adored Christine, our walker, and the feeling seemed to be mutual. We paid a premium for the short walks, but felt that it was quality time.
Things turned sour when we returned from a ten-day vacation (which they were informed of) to find an email stating that our contract was being terminated, effective immediately.
It turns out that we hadn't sufficiently kept up with Leaside's minimum four-walks-per-week policy. In all fairness, the policy was explained when we first hired them, but what we found extremely unprofessional was that they dropped us with absolutely NO warning. Had we been informed that there was a problem, we would've taken steps to resolve the issue.
Needless to say, Leaside's abrupt actions caused us stress and left us scrambling to find a suitable replacement at the last minute. We were also disappointed that our attempts to salvage the relationship and communicate with our walker were ignored.
Prospective clients might want to think twice before hiring Leaside. They seem great at caring for dogs, but are surprisingly poor at caring for their owners. read more
