This dog daycare has been great from day 1. They've made it easy to help my puppy socialize give the restrictions from the pandemic. The staff are good at identifying problem behaviours and trying to correct them. My pup always leaves feeling satisfied and wanting to come back ASAP. We've had the great opportunity for the team at Paws Playgrounds to take care of our 1 yr old Labradoodle for the past 8 months. Whether for a half day, full day and even 2 weeks of overnight boarding, Ryder is always so excited to go and play in their large space with a variety of toys, climbers and of course other dogs; with the Paws team who treat her and all of the dogs in their care, like one of their own. After their essential service qualification last week, we were so happy to hear that the owners and team were willing to go above and beyond to continue to provide their professional and personalized services despite the potential risks during these crazy times. Found a photo of my dog wearing a full face muzzle in the background of a photo without disclosing it to me. They had it on him for 4 days, 6 hours a day, 30° weather. Bougie downtown place. He was too "energetic". It rubbed open sores behind his ears. Also had puncture holes in his face, must have gotten bit while there. 2 kinds of skin bacteria. $2k bill. Owner told me to take a hike. I just picked my little Italian Greyhound up from a holiday stay at Paws Playground. Such a great place to leave him when we travel! He gets lots of personal attention and spends the day with the other little dogs happily engaged rather than alone in a kennel. I feel so confident leaving my pup there -- I always know that he will have the very best care from the thoughtful staff Just returned from another successful visit. Had a very bad experience with Paws Playground and I would not recommend that anyone take their dog there for daycare. We had an initial assessment with Sue for our 7 month old lab/shepherd mix puppy. The assessment went well and she informed us that our dog is on the larger size of breeds that they would accept and that all male dogs must be fixed after 10 months of age to prevent any aggression between dogs. This was completely understandable and we both agreed to a 3 hour play date the following Saturday when Sue was working to see how our dog fit in. We dropped our dog off on the Saturday and Sue was not at the daycare like she told us she would be but we were greeted by another employee at the front door. We told her that if there was any trouble to give us a call and we would be back quickly. We did not hear from them for the 3 hours and arrived back assuming everything went well, however upon going in the front door we could hear our dog crying and whining. The one employee on staff that day came out 5 mins later and got our dog out of a confined kennel area not from the daycare area. She informed us that the daycare does not take dogs over 7 months that are not fixed for insurance purposes (contrary to the 10 months told to us by Sue) and that they do not want our dog at the daycare. We asked her how long he had been locked up in the kennel on his own and she told us he only lasted 5-10 mins playing with the other dogs before he got too "energetic" and she separated him at that time. I have no issue that they do not want our large puppy at their daycare, each company has the right to choose dogs that will fit in well. What we do have an issue with is the fact that after 10 mins they made up their mind that he wasn't going to be allowed and proceeded to lock our dog up in a kennel for the other 2 hours and 45 mins when we told them to call if there was a problem. When we picked up our puppy he was clearly distressed, panting, drooling and he had the runs for a day after. We attempted to email Sue to discuss this issue but we did not receive a reply or any reasoning for this poor treatment. read more

I was having a really hard time finding doggie daycare for my husky rescue dog. He got stressed out with any kind of compartmental set ups and high walls. So when I went to check out Paws...I got so excited. It was open concept with a fence that looked like a dog park (which my boy was familiar with) and open space leading out to a huge outdoor area...He thought he was at the park and trotted right in not even looking back. Jay and Sue are very attentive and have a calming energy. It's clean and welcoming. They are very accommodating to my schedule and needs concerning Harley. I went into Paws Playground for an initial assessment this weekend for boarding my small yorkie. I had really liked the website and the emails with staff were quite professional so I had high hopes for the facility. I was very disappointed in the reality. I have a small dog, so I knew for his own safety he would be separated into a small dog area. The area was quite dirty and had used pee pads on the ground. The facility itself was small. The staff member who greeted us and showed us around was not very encouraging or knowledgeable. I had concerns about my dog eating and she said it was not uncommon for a dog to go 3 or 4 days without eating their first time boarding and not to worry. This is completely unacceptable. When she took me out back to the large dog area the dogs were very aggressive. I asked if my dog would every be taken outside during the 4 days I would be boarding him and she said if he wanted to go with the big dogs he could. I said I wasn't comfortable with that given how large and aggressive they were. I told her that he wasn't pee pad trained and that he would have accidents without being taken outside which would ruin his training (he's only 1) and she said that was fine. Overall the inside portion of the facility was small and underwhelming and poorly kept, and the staff didn't seem to care much about my dogs well being. He would have had little exercise and no outdoor time for 4 days while being taught to pee on the floor in a dirty environment. If you have a large dog who will be outside, then fine. But this is not a facility for smaller breeds or breeds that need some TLC. read more

I have nothing but praise for Paws Playground. Bella & Kingsley love going there. As soon as I say the words PAWS, they have their leashes ready in their mouths, pushing me to take them there ASAP. Why I love PAWS: 1. Sue & Jason care about all the dogs that go there. Every dog looks forward to seeing them (I have seen it with my own eyes hehe :)) 2. They are super flexible with pay methods (you can pay once per month, weekly, daily via cash, debit, cards & e-mail transfers) 3. My dogs are very well exercised 4. They take photos of dogs playing 5. My dogs love going there - emphasis on LOVE 6. They pick them up and drop them off (which is super convenient for me and my spouse due to our crazy work schedules) 7. They have been there for us when we had to to ask them to pick them up last minute or drop them off last minute (Their customer service is fantastic) Again, my dogs love it there. My 2 small dogs have been boarding at Paws for 2 weeks now. I visited them yesterday and have never seen them happier or healthier. They are having a ball and my Finnegan has gained so much confidence! They are truly being treated like family. I've searched for years to find a place that would treat them like I do. Highly highly recommended if you want the peace of mind that comes with knowing your dogs are being loved while you are away. I think my dogs will be disappointed when they come home. read more

My pup absolutely loves it at Paws Playground. I drive her out there from the west end because Sue and Jason are so amazing with her. Some days she doesn't want to leave. Always lots of other dogs to play with. Clean and spacious location. I highly recommend it. read more

My dog Sherlock is better behaved with Sue, Jason, and Yael, and all the rest of the team than he is (I'm ashamed to say) with me. He loves to be there and they make him very happy. Sherlock is a little guy who loves to cruise with the big dogs, and so he does! Sherlock is a multiple-rescue- apparently a few relationships didn't work out. No issues now....none at all. Nice place for pets, really poor customer service. We left our two tiny dogs for a 5-night stay over the Christmas holiday. They were 100% healthy when we dropped them off, but one of them had diarrhea when we picked them up. For some reason, they decided to not bring this up to us, although they acknowledged he was sick since one day before he left when my husband called in. Two days later, he was much worse, pooping blood, and the other dog had diarrhea too. According to our vet, they both had been contaminated by a parasite and were medicated with antibiotics and de-wormer. We got in touch with Paws Playground to report our frustrating experience and all they told us they found "very strange" that no other owner has reported that, but they wished our dogs feel better. They clearly did not believe our dogs got contaminated there, however, we live in a condo and our dogs haven't been out since over a month due to the cold weather. They have been in complete isolation from other dogs for several weeks and suddenly, after staying at Paws Playground, they came back home with a parasite. After paying almost one grand for their stay, we had to spend an extra $400+ on vet bills and on top of that, we were locked at home over the New Year's long weekend to look after our sick dogs. Fortunately, after 3 days of de-wormer, they got better. We are reasonable people and we know it's not their fault, but they must be accountable for what happens to dogs over their stay. However, Paws Playgrounds made absolutely zero effort to overcome our poor experience and make a better impression of themselves. All they did was to give best wishes to our dogs, exempting themselves from any responsibility on what happened. read more

My two dogs have been with Paws since they first opened. Both of my huskies run to get there in the morning and return home happy and healthy every day. The owners truly care for my pups and this makes me feel comfortable leaving them there!
