We love Epiphany Preschool and are about to enroll our third child. I highly recommend Epiphany…read morefor all kids because of the expertise and passion of the teachers. I love nature based education for my kids and our family. I love the way my son's imagination and capabilities skyrocket from his time at epiphany. When the giant snow storm came and the kids in the neighborhood all went inside, my son played for hours. Epiphany had taught him to put on the right gear and how to stay warm. But I recommend it to anyone, because I am so impressed by the staff. Jason and Amanda have built a community that really cares about the children, families, and staff. They go above and beyond other schools in the area ensuring safety inside and outside for this community. They are creating a space most higher level schools and even employers haven't mastered to help our natural environment help give us tools to be more resilient and adaptive and even find more joy in life. They have created a team with incredible credentials and experience paired with passionate energetic newer teachers. I realized a few month after sending my two oldest, that every teacher knew who my kids were. The whole campus really cares about each other and helps each other's passions grow. I thought our son found the perfect teachers for him as a Sparrow with Ms Araz and Ms Nancy matching his energy and enthusiasm. And then he became a Cardinal and Ms Melanie and Ms Shannon have matched him perfectly where he is developmentally and now he is making up songs every day. Our daughter became more confident in her own strengths in the Hawks class with Ms Wendy's support and Ms Heathers ability to match each child's individual entry points and the best method to take the next steps. Due to moving from Atlanta, this is our third preschool experience and Epiphany has the spark of magic I want for my kids. The community events help me reflect on the changes in nature and the joy of friendship. The staff have this ability to remember all that each young child holds most precious, while also having the patience to get them dressed in the right gear for all the different weather. (The gear is important, but they give great lists to help parents be prepared and we've been able to get almost everything on Buy Nothing from our Neighborhood group so it hasn't added extra cost.) My kids are both more practical and more imaginative from the time at Epiphany. I am grateful for the space for kids to really get to be who they are and fully seen. I have loved getting to know other families and finding support as we all figure this out together.

Their hearts are big and they truly partner with you to help your child grow and thrive! All three of our kiddos have gotten to experience the joy and wonder of an outdoor campus. The climbing tree is a famous celebrity. Kids come home all smiles on days that involve puddle jumping or snow sledding! Epiphany let's kids be kids in all the right ways. Highly recommend!

Our family would give this school ten stars if we could! It is a great place to start out your…read morechild's early education. Compared to other Montessori schools in the area, the price is really affordable. The tuition is fair and there is no gouging with large mark-ups for children that stay the full day because their parents work full time. The teachers are very, very good. Our oldest daughter really excelled under Ms. Afsaneh and Ms. Dilhara. They gave her a solid foundation to early letter sounds and reading. Our younger child was in the toddler room with Ms. Janna. Both loved going to school. The teachers made learning fun, engaging and encouraged their natural curiosity. The school also provides meals, it's part of the tuition cost. All the meals provided are peanut and nut free - which was great for us as our oldest daughter has that allergy. The teachers were also trained and competent with epi-pens and emergency response, if needed. Our youngest daughter is allergic to eggs. The catering company provided me with monthly menus and ingredient lists so I could send alternate meals with her on the days she could not eat the school food. It was very organized and worked well. The school is located in an office complex, which has a lot of green area. They have their own playground and often take nature walks along the tree-lined parks and paths. The school provides Spanish lessons once a week. And, there are optional music and soccer classes. The teachers are very understanding and great about communicating with you on your individual child's development and needs. The school really caters to working parents. Any family-event activities are at the beginning or end of the day. And, their pick and drop off times are flexible. We recently had to move to California for work, and it has really put into perspective for us how great this school was. We've tried two different Montessori schools in San Diego, and in addition to being a fair bit more expensive, the teachers just don't compare. I would highly, highly recommend this pre-school to anyone looking to give their child a fun, positive and safe place to start their early education. Your child will have a solid foundation in basic reading and math while still supporting their natural curiosity an growth. There is a bit of a wait list, so be sure to contact the school in advance. If you are trying for the infant room, call when you know you are pregnant. For the 3+ class, the wait isn't as long, but call to find out. It's worth the wait.

Children who do not adapt to these strict expectations are labeled learning disabled and parents are encouraged to get the child evaluated. I was told my 3 year old son had a cognitive learning disability because he did not listen. When I challenged the teacher on her ability to diagnose my child she got very defensive. When I told her my pediatrician said he was normal and he passed a hearing test Tasneem said that pediatricians do not evaluate children the way LD therapist do. When I told her we were not getting him evaluated and they should try giving him stars for good listening or try something esl she told us that we needed to leave the school in two weeks. Another parent told me her son did not do his work was not allowed to go to the playground. Other children have been expelled because they did not ask for assignments. But by far my biggest complaint is that the teachers speak horrible English. Ms. Afsahneh plagerizes her monthly newsletters from other sources. The part of the newsletter she does write is full of grammatical errors. I also note that the newletters are monthly and in arrears. When I asked her to give me updates on my son's naps, lunch, etc. she said that with a class of 18 she could not be expected to do this. They do not even give you a list of the other students names. The assistants are nice but unable to carry on a conversation in English. Ms. Asfsaneh is very unstable when faced with anything hard. When I asked her to help with potty training she got all flustered and upset with me that he was not fully trained and told me he had to be trained at home. Tasneem also told me that my 3 year old made Ms. Afsahneh cry because he would not stay on his nap during nap time. At our only conference and the one where we were asked to leave Ms. Afsaneh could not look us in the eyes. She sat with her arms crossed sething, angry that our 3 year old was "doing nothing". She would not entertain any ideas to help assimilate him to the Montessori classroom. The most frustrating part was when my husband and I separately visited the classroom our son did do the work...although he hung 2 eggs on one branch of a tree when apparently you are only supposed to hang one egg per branch.

His then teacher (Ms Yashu) went out of her way to print out the phonetic spelling of Korean words and put it in her classroom to further communicate with my child. I thought that was so endearing and that they truly want everyone to be included. On top of that, they have done a great job potty training him so now he can go to the bathroom by himself as a 3 year old. Even his new teachers learned some Korean words to communicate with him as well. I also really like how in the Goddard app they specify what he ate and didn't eat from the school lunches, or even the separate snacks I provide him every day. It gives me an idea of what his favorites are, and what he enjoys eating. The multiple photos a day they provide are always a great snapchat of his fun-filled day. They have somewhat of a curriculum, which is great for kids to get accustomed to at a young age. They have weekly activities such as PE, learning Chinese, learning Spanish, singing songs with an instructor, as well as plenty of outdoor time. Laura (the owner) does a great job in running the show because there are so many events per month that really show you that they care and that it really is one big family. There are multiple Fall events, Halloween parade, Parent appreciation days, International night, back to school nights, etc. It almost feels as if there's one every other week! After touring between maybe five other daycares, I'm very happy with our decision to come here. The progress my son has had in learning English, learning the alphabet and numbers, potty training, as well as becoming more nimble with his arms and legs. Thank you for everything Goddard of Tysons!

This review is based on my experience, I am not a care or education specialist. The below is purely…read moremy observation and opinion. We have had our children at this Goddard location along with beantree Westfields. To me this was not a "school"- it was a childcare facility with childcare staff and not educators. For the steep price we paid here- there should have been more focus on education. Unfortunately- this location for Goddard was not run well: the two year old class had a teacher that we and other parents witnessed snatch, drag, yell at at and verbally accost several children. Despite three documented compliants to management (two written and one verbal) nothing visibly changed. This staff member remained at the school and even had the audacity to ask my wife on several occasions why we carry our child (a two year old at 7am). I'm addition: -nap times started very late and lasted until after three pm. -despite knowing that my child did not touch specific foods- it was reported on several occasions that he did eat said food. -there was no clearly structured teaching format and unlike Beantree- students were confined to a single classroom for most of the day. (This is my observation) -did not see any specialized educators or areas for them (an art teacher, tech teacher, etc- as well no specialized rooms) -despite proper notice and several emails- they did not give our deposit back! Although I am no school expert- both of my children shine at beantree but my son was visibly worse off and miserable at goodard. As a caring parent- I URGE YOU to look at multiple caretakers before you send your children here. The front desk staff is very pleasant and it's a shame because there are other excellent caretakers at this facility.

The head of the center Miss Hala is a lovely lady is always there for all our questions, goes out of her way to accommodate any requests and makes sure all the kids and parents are comfortable. I once asked for the syllabus of the next stages and it was sent to me the very same day. Miss Lisa at the front desk is the face of the center, always smiling, knows each kid and wait for it most parents names as well (She knows my and my husband's name and can even recognize our voice over the phone.. great customer service) She is amazing and we love to interact with her. Miss Nicole is awesome as well. Also knows all the kids names and she is always running around getting things done! There is not a single question I have had that she couldn't answer. Love that the staff is so well acquainted and skilled. Now for the teachers. My child has been in the infant's room since he turned 4 months. As a working mom, it was really hard for me to part ways with such a small baby but Ms. Hind and Ms. Kamala put all my fears to rest. They are the most loving teachers/care takers that my kid could ever have. They treat my boy as family and are always there to welcome him with open arms. He loves cuddling with them :) makes me slightly jealous that he loves them so much.. haha. Both Ms. Hind and Ms. Kamala have taught him a lot, and are so particular about his diaper changes and meals. I remember showing up earlier one day and my boy was eating a nice warm meal (home cooked one which I sent). I was pleasantly surprised that they cared enough to warm it before feeding him the purees. They also sometimes suggest on what I should start feeding him at home at each stage. Love this informal setting while still being really professional in the way they approach things. The app feature is amazing and makes me feel a lot better that I can see each notification on when my child ate and was changed and slept along with fun pics. Among the floaters, we really like Miss Zorina and Miss Farah. Very polite staff and love the amount of detailed attention they give to my baby. All in all this center gets an A+ from this mommy and we will keep our kid here till we can!

Coming from a Nanny and due to personality/preferences, our child had a very hard time adjusting to being in a group care setting at first but his current teacher here made a world of a difference. She is loving, kind, nuturing, and very patient. Most of the teachers here seem to be nice as well. We truly really like this center in general and continue to be happy with our decision. In addition to a curriculum that is fun, engaging and fosters learning with a good amount of structure, the Director Ms Hala ensures the place is kept orderly and clean. They have actual separate classrooms for each class/different age groups, which makes it organized and more structured, as we've seen it can get chaotic and disruptive having a one big open space without separate rooms (at other centers). Love the fact that breakfast, lunch, and PM snack is all provided, very well-balanced planned out meals. They have a very nice indoor gym play area as well as a nice outdoor playground. Another plus is that they are very current with technology. There's an app that we get updates of all of the meal and diaper/bathroom stats, along with pictures throughout the day each day. They are very good with communicating updates through emailing weekly Parent Newsletters of what's going on and what's coming up in each of the classes. The center celebrates holidays such as Mother's and Father's Day, Valentines, etc. and makes it a fun environment as well. We are happy with the staff that we interact with including Ms Hala (the director), Ms Lisa (the front desk business manager) who is so helpful and answers every question and concern thoroughly, as well as Ms. Anita and Ms. Simi (current teachers), who really put their hearts into caring for the kids in the class. Our little one is very happy here. Cost is on the higher side but totally worth it for the peace of mind and a healthy, thriving, and clean environment for our little one! I have to say while touring the many daycare centers in our area, this and only one other Bright Horizons (Greensboro) gave me a true warm feeling where I could feel that my child would be safe, comfortable, and clean, and that I could actually leave my child there.

I am severely disappointed and angry about this experience. I was lured into this place by an ad for 3 month SAT prep and then was steered and pressured into an expensive and useless 6 month contract -although they said during the evaluation that my child did not need remedial work. They said the 3 month SAT prep is a National Promo and not something they were doing but they could still help her prepare for the SAT. We decided to try and if not a good fit we'd cancel during the allowed time period. Great. My child attended 2x a week for 90 min and worked on worksheets. No one on one tutoring or lessons or group co-hort. It was loud and boisterous and she compared it to a babysitting service for little kids working on math. If that's what you need then this is the place for you. However look at the contract and all the fine print-it's like a shady gym with many fees designed to keep your money despite poor service. We joined on Nov 14th and paid $453. There was Thanksgiving break- ok. We cancelled on Dec 10th. They had charged us $509 on Dec 1st (2 weeks after joining!) and I asked for a refund for the month of December since she'd only attended 4 classes - one class in December. I explained it's a bad fit for a high school student- it's loud and geared for little kids. Furthermore, tutors are high schools students and not a great fit. They said no we don't charge a penalty for leaving but we can't give you your money back once it has been charged. They dismissed my email with a breezy "we hope you understand." They are a scam. This means we paid $240 for each class. Outrageous. Shameful. Horrible place.
