This school creates a nurturing​, fun environment, that kids thrive in. A huge emphasis is placed on outside time, where the kids are allowed to explore, garden, use their imagination, or simply just run and play. I believe that the Rancho location has the best outside space, with huge sectioned off area to segregate the varying ages; so infant, toddlers, and older children can all play outside freely. They also maintain a spectacularly clean facility and provide nutritious​ organic snacks and lunches. The teachers, the director, and the assistant director are all caring and all are just so amazing with children​. My child has been able to stay with the same teacher since being placed in the toddler class, and she absolutely loves Ms. Samantha, and so do we! She takes extra care in listening to each and every child and also seamlessly uses the Reggio​-inspired approach to redirect tantrums. She has taught my child so much, from the alphabet (before she was 2!), to shapes, colors and so much more. This school is everything you could ever want! It is always scary and extremely daunting to leave your little one with someone else, but with Little Sprouts, that fear instantly dissipates when you walk through their doors. I have to say I really liked it at first and the app is wonderful. But they don't always log diaper changes. My child was in the preschool class and they didnt really log if he ate or not. They just wrote down the menu for that day so I wonder if he ever really ate even though they said yes when I asked. My son was always big for his age and it seemed like there are too many kids here and they weren't able to give him the time and attention he needed. The ratio is 12:1. When I dropped my son off one morning, poor Ms.Kelcey was changing a diaper while 10 other kids were running around and one was crying in the corner. Nothing on Ms.Kelcey; shes great and she handled that like a champ. They just need more staff here. I noticed one of the teachers had quit when my son first started and the teachers here seem kind of burnt out. The director met with us and said my child wasn't meeting his milestones and that the teachers hadn't observed them. But, when we got our son evaluated by his pediatrician and a speech therapist, that was not the case. His outbursts at school didnt improve. From looking at the footage that they DID show us, it appeared it happened whenever teachers were looking away, so I do feel bad for the other kids. It seemed like he was always getting written up and they looked for any reason to write an incident report. Most times that we asked to see the footage, we wouldnt get it. The director would just say she watched it and tell us what happened. The director pushed for my son to get evaluated through the regional center and even after I went through the process of doing so to get him the help he needed, he was still terminated. After my sons occupational therapist went to the school (she went and observed him his last week there), she observed that our son was not the worse behaved one and that he was just copying other kids behaviors. Now that my son is in a different pre school with a smaller ratio, he is doing better. So, maybe this school isn't for neurodivergent kids or for shy kids or for kids that are big for their age. For the price, I would say you get what you pay for because the facility is beautiful, always clean, and the yard is nice. Food is good from what I've seen and super healthy. But, it is packed with kids (12:1 in prek) and they really need more staff!! read more

My daughter attended this facility for two days and it was an awful experience. The teachers including management is very rude and dismissive. When we brought up anything to them their response was we can't watch all of our friends. I did see a bad review and it looks like it got deleted so my review may get deleted as well. A WARNING to all considering learning jungle. They pick their favorites, my child was eating sand (two days in a row) had marker all over her clothes (she could have had it in her mouth), had an ice cube they use for accidents in her mouth (choking hazard) because somehow it ended up in the classroom accessible to her, got sick on the third day when we withdrew her. Everytime we picked her up there was one teacher playing with the same group of kids and one just standing around, but not paying attention to what the kids are doing. Also they never answer their phone so if there is an emergency you have to go to the center to speak to them. They called me on the first day to ask me to come pick up my child because she wouldn't wake up from her nap and the other kids can't go outside and supposedly there is a rule stating that they can't wake her up even though it's past their nap time. This is unheard of and so inconvenient. I wasn't able to pick up my daughter because that day I already had to go back to the location twice before because of their lack of communication. Save yourself the headache, this Place may look like it's good for your child, but internally it's all messed up. My child has since been taken to a daycare facility near our home and she has been thriving. Learning jungle is the worst daycare I have ever dealt with. read more

My 4 yo struggled at this last school with some aggressive outbursts. With only 5 students in the class, we wondered if he was bored or something was going on with the teacher. After moving him here, he is SOOOO good. He loves school, is excited to go, loves Ms. Lynn, and is just all around a happier kid. No outbursts, and he's doing just fine. We spent almost 3 years at the Rancho SD location and the best way to describe it was an overpriced emotional rollercoaster that didn't end well. As first time parents we truly felt that "you get what you pay for" when it comes to childcare, but that just isn't so. The center has a great "vibe", is surely "instagram" appealing and a well-written website; but whether your child gets "enriching, quality care" they claim is questionable. Red flags include: - Shortly after my son was enrolled at the age of 1, both teachers (and the floating teacher) quit. There's no denying; turnover is high here. - The cost is almost double with annual enrollment fees and annual tuition raises; yet the teachers are still asking for donations for basic items such as markers, construction paper, etc. - The owners seem too cheap to hire an evening or morning cleaning staff, so you'll find teachers stretched thin between actually teaching, cleaning, and posting on social media. - They don't promise the healthy, organic foods on a daily/weekly basis (if it's not available at the Smart & Final next-door, it's substituted.) A "clean environment" is questionable as well (at no fault to the teachers), but there was a rodent issue during our time here where students had to bag their items in their cubbies. - The "Reggio inspired program" is also questionable along with the level of competency of several staff members. While we can speak highly of our son's preschool teacher (Miss Karen; a class where he thrived) the same cannot be said about his his PreK teachers who on several weeks had more elementary play-based experiences. We got the impression activities were set-up in the morning times for a photo-op and the majority of the day was a "free for all". - There was clear favoritism taking place that other parents noticed as well. It's possible some of this cattiness we experienced was due to assistant director being roommates with our son's teacher. - We watched the staff turn cold and callous overnight on us; leading us to believe they never truly cared for our child and that he was just another headcount in the school. We agree with the other review about everything being all "smoke and mirrors" at this place. Much of what you read on their website is simply good marketing. While management will say they're being transparent; it's obvious they've been coached to recite from a handbook. Any issues you speak to them about will likely result in "no action taken". Several families left this location for similar reasons stated above. I'm happy to say our son is now thriving at another nearby preschool; where a few other little sprouts students have ended up at. The Learning Jungle recently purchased all Little Sprout locations, so maybe there is hope for big change - including new management. read more

I couldn't be happier with this pre-school. I looked and toured 4 other pre schools, before finding our home away from home here at Little Sprouts. Their decor, furniture, toys, activities, food is top notch. I love the serene feeling I get just walking through their doors. Not to mention the cleanliness of the Pre-School. My son Michael has been coming here for 1 month now part time ( Tues/Thurs). So the transition has been a little difficult during dropoffs, but adjusts within minutes to his Pre-School environment. Michaels social skills have improved immensely. (since he's been with his Nana full-time since 4 months old) I'm shocked over one of the bad reviews regarding Ms.Sandra, the director!! She has been nothing but accomodating and kind during my son's transition. Yes we are also 100% Hispanic. I feared Michael would have separation anxiety. So Ms. Sandra and Ms. Sammi before Michael even started pre-school, allowed us to bring my son to Little Sprouts 30 minutes during outside play and 30 minutes in the classroom. So he can be acclimated to his new environment. Ms. Sandra and Ms. Sammi have both been so helpful. Thank you to both of you for working with Michael and me for a smooth and succesful transition. This review is long overdue as our LO's last date was in October 2017. I'll keep this simple - smoke and mirrors, poor ownership and directors, and turnover of the best teachers. We have been with LS for over 3 years (son started at 10 months old), referred several families, and got along well with all his teachers. The problem is the way Administration handled a transition during the restructure of their ages in classroom. After multiple meetings with Sammy the Director and Yasmine (Happiness Director), the end result is NO SOLUTION, NO ACTION! Administration clearly has a disconnect with the Teachers. They provide you scripted answers in a robotic manner and lack any type of genuine emotion. Their inability to connect and work collaboratively with the families is due to their lack of experience and (frankly) immaturity. Simply, they do not care! In addition, our daughter had a total of five physical injuries/incident reports in a span of three months. Again, after communication with Administration, the only solution is "Oh, that's how kids are at that age." Our LO had a vicious bite on her arm, bruised forehead and eye, bruised cheek, and busted lip. Enough is enough. If you can get through LS without having to deal with Administration, good for you, as the TEACHERS are truly the best here (if they can keep them). Again, this warrants a repeat, there is a clear disconnect between the Administrators and Teachers. I'd suggest looking into other Reggio schools with a harmonious environment between staff and families. read more

My son has been attending Little Sprouts for over a year and a half (started at the Mission Gorge location and recently moved to the Rancho SD location). I couldn't possibly imagine a better environment for him. My son is genuinely excited every morning to go to school. I love that the teachers and staff genuinely care so much about his well-being. Also, I am very particular of what he eats. We eat only organic, whole foods at home and I love that I know he is eating so nutritiously at school as well- that's such a rarity. I would highly recommend Little Sprouts, it's the best childcare you could ever receive!! read more

Bad first impressions. This review is only for the communication as we havn't even been able to tour the school. We moved to the area and were recommend to this center by a neighbor. It has been over 2 weeks trying to reach someone to get info. I have received an email from a "scheduler" who has perceded to reschedule me twice and now our tour is almost 5 weeks out. How is that acceptable for a new family researching for childcare? The most basic of questions like what is your tuition, hours, and availabilty cannot be answered because I cannot get anyone on the phone or email. All the scheduler does is send me a marketing handbook without actual details. I have toured and spoke with 2 other preschools nearby all in the time I have heard nothing from Learning Jungle. It's a shame but this one is no longer on our list. If you can't be inviting to someone new, how will you be once we are signed up? read more

We moved due to a new job and my LO no longer attends there, but we sure miss it! My toddler attended there for about 6 months and it was the best experience. This particular location was about 25 min from our home which meant that during high traffic it would take up to 50 minutes to get there, and yet it was worth it. The facilities are clean, bright, and spacious. Your kid won't feel like a sardine here. The food is healthier than most places. For the 6 mos that my daughter went there, the staff stayed the same and it was mostly the same group of kids (older kids advance to other classes so that is expected). The extremely low turnover speaks volumes of how much parents/teachers/kids love it there. My daughter had stranger anxiety for a bit, but the third person she hugged was Ms. Tina (besides her dada and mama of course). Before she hugged her own grandparents! Lol My only recommendations are (1) that they get an electronic sign in/out system in the future and (2) at least try to get one photo of each kid a day. As a parent, you *need* that one photo to get by. More so than coffee! :) If we were ever to move back to SD, I hope they will consider opening up more locations in Clairemont, La Jolla, etc. read more

Our son has been with Little Sprouts for over 3 years now, starting out at the Adams Ave location and then moving to Avocado a little over a year ago. I can't imagine a better daycare and pre-school out there. I find the facilities to be clean and modern but warm and inviting at the same time. You won't find this place overly cluttered with a sea of plastic bits but they are plenty of stimulating toys, books, props, instruments, puzzles and games to keep my child entertained. The rooms are bright and spacious while the outside play area is wide open with ample room to run around, climb, ride, and generally have a good time while getting a healthy does of physical activity. Where this place really shines is the quality of the teachers and assistants they've been able to attain. I'm not sure how they've managed to consistently bring in so many caring, attentive and qualified individuals at one place. My son has gotten along so well with all of them and it really gives me peace of mind knowing that he connects with them they way he does. They are funny, smart, and creative, with seemingly endless ideas for interesting ways to spend the day learning, creating, and playing. They understand what it means to provide the necessary structure for a child by providing a firm, yet gentle and compassionate hand. Over the years it has gotten to where it feels like they are an extension of our family and I don't think you could really ask for anything more. The bottom-line is that we are really comfortable with this place. The teachers are amazing, the facilities are near perfect, the food is nutritious and well planned out and we feel confident each day that our child is thriving in his environment. The reason I'm giving a one star is I've been trying to contact them to enroll my daughter but no one ever answers and I've left voicemails and 2 emails and still no response. My grandson started 2 weeks ago. The first week was tough but with the help of the staff/teachers they've made my grandson feel safe. Two weeks and three days later, he's walking me into class. I could not be more happy with this school. My son just graduated from the Mission Gorge location. Every time I came in, teachers were fully engaged with the students. The teachers were all well trained, and fully believe in the philosophy of the school. My son grew so much under their care, play and activities. Also, the food is well prepared and all organic! Excited to enroll my son into a organic eating different way of teaching lifestyle I enrolled late October. I was a first-time parents leaving my son at school for the first time so I was very concerned especially with all the mass shootings and in child abuse going on in school systems across the country. I asked if I could contact the school anytime for my son. I was insured that someone is at the front desk Monitoring a secure keypad lock door at all times. first day goes by , they let me know I can come by anytime ,so I do and I came to ajar door and unmanned front desk. anybody could've walked in. I bring that to the attention of the director. Also I bring up the fact that I thought that all the food was organic, find out it's only organic when they can get organic, the idea of false advertisement is in my mind. I address it to see if anything can be done about any of these issues. but like Celeste said in the other review that was before mine "no action ,no results " that's the type of vibe that they put out. Despite them being in them being wrong I was asked to leave,I was willing to Except their ways of doing things and I even apologized, I apologize multiple times I have sent multiple emails trying to be a part of Little sprouts given that it was just a first missunderstanding and I just didn't know how schools were ran. After visiting other schools I could appreciate Little sprouts so much more but unfortunately for now it has to have a because I don't think that me and my son should be punished for being concerned about safety and just wanting to get what we're paying for, Which was advertised. Why on God's green earth is day care so difficult to find? And why do people not know how to communicate effectively? You are expected to pay for a service, the business wants $1400+ up front (fees, deposits, tuition, etc.) They fail to provide you with a detailed list of said fees, explanations of fees, deadlines to pay, and then charge you with late fees. Even after multiple questions were asked. They failed to answer our questions, and set our minds at ease about where all this money was going. They want the money up front before they will provide you with a list of their Policies and Procedures which then outline fees and costs, and the money is due prior to scheduling your registration appointment. You request phone conversations so you could get clarification and NOTHING. When they do respond to your email inquiries, your questions or concerns are not answered directly, you will receive a response dancing around your questions or concerns THEN when you call them out on it via email that they failed to address your concerns or answer your questions directly b/c that's the only way they will communicate with you they get offended and then call you to tell you they are declining your son's admission because they take respect seriously. Well what about the respect you are failing to provide the parents by ignoring the questions / concerns that were posed to you.... What happened to customer service? What happened to effective communication? What happened to setting a parents mind at ease? Especially when you are entrusting them with your most valuable asset!!! They are providing YOU the consumer with a service and can not effectively communicate, answer questions, provide explanations of their own service fees, or accommodate your requests for information. Little Sprouts Academy is a joke. They're administrative staff is inadequate and incapable. While their facilities may appear pleasant, warm and inviting, their administration staff is rather the opposite and severely lacks communication skills and customer service. Don't be jaded by the facility... In fact, they will make assumptions about your parenting skills and CALL CPS ON YOU. That's right, our first experience with them the Director called CPS and opened an investigation. The social worker made statements that this claim was unwarranted, a waste of her time, and it was NOT made by medical staff. Be forewarned- you will be JUDGED, you will not be treated fairly, you're child will come home with random bite marks, rashes, HFM repeatedly (in our case 4+ times), and conjunctivitis in both eyes and when you question their methods and cleanliness of the facility you will be made to feel like you are being a troublesome parent. Not to mention on several occasions I picked up my son in a soiled diaper which I changed myself before our departure. Or how many times upon drop off the kids had snots running down their nose and into their mouth. Only upon casually making statements about the snots the teacher would stop their personal conversation with another staff member and then proceed to clean up the kids. I can see why now FT working moms quit their jobs and stay home with their kids.... the daycare industry is a NIGHTMARE! Thank you Little Sprouts for reminding me how god awful you business model is and doing us the favor, and how atrocious your administrative staff is, and how you lack customer service, and lack attention to detail. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt the 2nd time around, but clearly I was wrong. I am just glad that all this transpired BEFORE our son, started at their facility. read more

This review is MOSTLY ABOUT THE DIRECTOR, "SANDRA" ...My wife and I were really excited on bringing our 2yr old son to this new preschool. Our main focus was to have our child interact with more kids and be in a more open environment. We met with "SANDRA, THE DIRECTOR" and she seemed nice/okay. After telling her why we wanted to bring our child to preschool, she said a school environment with more kids will help him be less defensive and will eventually learn to cope with other kids. She specifically stated that preschool is a learning process, and that it would take time for him to "ADJUST", time we were never given. To make a story short, 4 days into my son's 1st week, we get a call from "SANDRA, the director" stating that our son had to be picked up immediately. My wife was very concerned due to her urgency. It turns out "SANDRA" , wanted our son removed from this academy because he apparently fought with kids ( something we previously stated before enrolling). She basically told my wife that it would be better for us to either put him in a smaller daycare or with a nanny at home. She also mentioned that there was perhaps a language barrier (Something we previously stated before enrolling) and that there was no one who spoke spanish. She also stated that they did not have time to spend one on one with him because he just required too much attention and were understaffed. Clearly, SANDRA basically wanted to just fill up the classroom, but at no point she really cared about providing a great experience to a 2 yr old. Everyday for those 4 days my son would wake up in the middle of the night having nightmares, and we would wonder why..Now that he is finally out of that place, he is perfectly happy and has had no nightmares since. We really felt awful because she basically made our son look like he was a problem to her. We also felt discriminated due to the fact that we are Hispanic. We were not Given the proper 10 day adjustment period, which their website clearly states. It has been about 2 weeks now since I spoke with 'SANDRA" about my refund, and I am still waiting for my $1150 refund. She has been ignoring all of our calls and emails. At this point my wife and I are through with this, We will let our attorney handle our lawsuit and hopefully we can get our refund as well. Parents please stay away from this place for as long as she runs this place. We are definitely not the only ones with this thought, look at the reviews for "Little Sprouts Academy" on Adams Ave and you will see for yourself, She used to be the director there before Rancho San Diego Opened. read more

I would definitely recommend Little Spouts for anyone looking for a clean, educational focused environment for their children. Their simple clean layout with the focus on the kids and their activities is what really drew me to them when we visited. Things like the organic food, natural cleaning supplies and engage staff solidified us in choosing Little Sprouts. It seemed to us that Little Spouts is striving to build a next level idea of childcare, rather than being just another convenient daycare/childcare, which was really important to us. At a minimum I would definitely recommend taking the time to go see for yourself, we couldn't be happier with all that they have offered for us. read more

My daughter attends Little Sprouts. She has been attending for 4 months and has really blossomed. The facility is very clean, organized and modern. Her teacher, Miss Meagan, is amazing. So caring and sweet! Staff member, Miss Kristen, is also one of my daughter's favorites!!! She is the best!!! She is so loving, fun and is always engaged with the children. My daughter loves her! And my daughter is not the only one. All the children flock to her. I wish more of the staff members were as involved and loving with the children as Miss Kristen is. read more

My granddaughter attends Little Sprouts and is 2 years old. We love the staff, including Ms Sandra, Director, and teachers Adrian and Sammi and Meagan. The daycare is spotless and run exceptionally well. The children are constantly engaged in activities outside and in the classroom. There is even a garden and the kids get to water it and watch the plants grow. The children receive nutritious and organic meals. I give this daycare 5 stars. After My granddaughter has been at this facility several months we continue to be pleased. Little Sprouts is always adding new activities especially to the playground. I would like to especially recognize two employees - teachers Ms Meghan who is organized and efficient and Ms Kristen who is constantly engaged with the children in her care. She plays with the children and really seems to have fun with them. read more

Couldn't ask for a better place for my babies. Clean and safe class rooms, the teachers are the BEST, they really encourage imagination, play and kindness. I leave not worrying when I drop off. I like the updates / pictures they post so you can see what their days look like. The teachers are very communicative when you ask them for any updates, input or help. My youngest (6 month old) goes to the Rancho SD location and my oldest (3 1/2 yr old) goes to the Mission Gorge location. That's my only complaint I suppose, we have to do that terrible drive for the littlest one because the Rancho one is the only one that will do part time but we live two blocks from the Adams location and I work by the MG location. Having said that, that should be a testament to how much we enjoy having our kids at LS. Instead of finding a different place close to us, we're doing that terrible drive on a couple weekday mornings for our littlest just so we can have him where we know he is safe and very well cared for! The Mission Gorge location seems to be having trouble retaining staff as well, but hopefully it's now taken care of and the teachers won't keep changing so much. Also - I added a "tip" in regards to the review about the cell phone tower as that was a concern for me. read more

I don't know of any other child care center/pre-school that is THIS GOOD. Little Sprouts has all of my trust, and that's hard to give when you have your child with you for all of their little life. When it's time for your child to be with other little munchkins, this is the place to turn to. My son has attended Little Sprouts on Adams Ave. for almost a year. Upon enrollment, they allowed me to bring him in every day for an hour or more to be WITH him at school and get used to the place. For a whole week. It was a great experience and helped him (and me!) acclimate. He's enrolled in the Rancho location to begin pre-school when he turns 2 1/2. I've had only good experiences with all locations (visited Mission George too, but their wait list is really long). ALL Directors and ALL teachers I've dealt with are so very sweet, personable, and have a wonderful knack with children. My little guy has made so many friends and is excited to go to "cool" most days (when he gets enough sleep at night). :) The teachers are very invested in the kids and show them so much love and support. They do tons of fun art projects and activities and get to help in the garden and eat what they sow. The way they treat the kids is excellent. They don't reprimand in any negative ways whatsoever. They get down on the child's level to work with them. If you're considering a child care center or pre-school, do not hesitate to contact/visit Little Sprouts. I can't say enough good things about Little Sprouts in Rancho SD. My daughter has been attending here for a year and a half. We have loved both teachers she has had in that time, as well as the all the subs that came in while her teacher was out on maternity leave. LS is the perfect balance between structure (for safety) and freedom (being a kid). I feel like everyone that works there there is happy and really cares. I get updates every time I pick her up about how her day was, both good and bad. I talk with the teachers about how we handle things at home and how they deal with it at school. Any time I have gotten a call that my girl is not felling well, someone is always snuggling her when I come to get her. A terrific experience for us and for both of our kids. They are taken care of, they learn, explore and have fun. The staff is friendly and professional and we always feel our concerns are addressed.
