Title: Horrible Customer Service - Rude, Disrespectful, and Misleading I had an absolutely terrible experience at this store, and I would not recommend it to anyone. First of all, when I walked in, I wasn't greeted at all. The employee was busy on her phone, which felt very unprofessional. To make matters worse, she implied that I was being deceptive about whether or not the toy had been opened, even though I had the receipt and there was no damage or visible signs of wear on the toy. She made me feel like I was lying about the condition of the item, which was completely uncalled for. The stores return policy states that the item must be in "original packaging and re-sellable condition within 30 days of purchase". Although, the toy met those conditions and I had the receipt , she still refused the return suggesting that it was not in re-sellable condition. She also accused me, more than once, of buying the item at a different store (even though the receipt had that store and location on it) I was absolutely flabbergasted by how I was treated. The way the clerk spoke to me was beyond disrespectful and unprofessional. It's a shame because it is a nice establishment, but after this experience, I will never be going back. This store is amazing and I feel so grateful to have it right down the street in my town. My daughter wanted to get her friend a gift that I was having trouble finding online. I sent the store a message on Facebook very early in the morning - and to my surprise I got a message back within minutes, telling me they had the item and that they would put it aside for me until I could get there later in the week. That customer service is unheard of at other stores. I've communicated with this store for specific items that I was looking for and when COVID restrictions were in place, they delivered items to my house! This store really goes above and beyond for customer service. The free gift wrap, birthday boxes, and always having the latest in greatest in toys and educational items in a welcoming store, make this store a real gem! read more

This is the place to go to find a gift for the children and young at heart in your life. They have all the best toys and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about what is best for a certain ages and specific interests. It is often difficult to shop for children if you aren't knowledgeable about what is cool, hot & appropriate but the employees here will make you look like an expert. You can select some of their products to have personalized, which makes your gift extra special. They wrap gifts for free which is an amazing perk, well worth paying retail for the gift. The selection is amazing, with both the "have to have" hot toys as well as classics. The best part is that they have little to no electronica toys. These are the toys that you want to buy the children in your life and that kids will be thrilled to receive. It is fun to watch children enter the store, the toy version of the Willy Wonka factory with huge smiles and eyes filled with wonder. There is also a discount area in the back where I can often find good gifts for marked down prices. What a great place! The staff is friendly and helpful and the toy selection is awesome. I also love that they stay open late. This is my go-to toy shop / gift shop for babies and kids of all ages. Yes, I could probably find a lot of their stuff cheaper at Target or Amazon or if I felt like hunting for it. But it's perfect in a pinch and it also feels good to support a small local business verses one of the big box stores. I'm shocked at the negative reviews of Learning Express - it's a local favorite and I highly recommend shopping here!! read more

The staff is very knowledgeable and has always helped me find age-appropriate materials and kits to stimulate varied interests and creativity. While the place has decent choice in toys, the customer service is horrible. If Ur an Asian or Latino or Black, you will not get the right customer service. Just last week, we finished our shopping and requested the staff to gift-wrap few items. It was still 6:30, good 30min before close. Yet the staff member (20-yr old student I guess) was very relectuant to do it. When she started doing it, it was done w/o focus and the packing looked quite ugly. When we asked why she cannot do it in a professional way, the answer we got was - this is complimentary and take it or leave it. If the complimentary item is introduced to wow the customer, why would one destroy customer satisfaction in this step. Similar effort for other white customers I have seen was done with care and focus. This is it for us at this store - we will either go to Bellingham/Newton but not here anymore. At this customer service levels, it will soon be out of business anyways. read more

Although this store has fun toys, certain policies they have stink. They are expensive, which I know before going in there, but they don't allow you to load their coupons from any site on-line, so unless you carry them around with you, you are out of luck, which is ridiculous in this day and age. They, of course, don't have any in the store to help you out either. I just let $45 worth of merchandise sitting on the counter because of it. read more

I will start off by saying I have no problem if a company has a final sale policy. My problem is that there was no sign indicating a final sale and there was nothing on the receipt indicating the item was a final sale. When I tried to return the item, I was advised I couldn't. When I questioned them, they said they told everyone about final sales when the customer checked out. There was no consideration that they may have forgotten to mention this to all of their customers. It wasn't a big ticket item, but what ever happened to the customer is always right. I have never had any problems in the past, but they've lost me as a customer. read more
