About a year and a half ago we had a sales person come to our home and tell us all the good things about this system. When they checked out our original gutters, they said ours were fine and could save us some money by utilizing the original gutters with their system. Even at that it was still $7500. But we financed it thinking this was going to save us the headache of having to replace them or having them clog in the future. We were told there was a lifetime warranty and to call if we ever have any issues. This system is impossible to fail - he challenged us to prove him wrong. We needed to replace or repair what we had so we went for it - buying into his lies. The next time it rained two corners of our roofline leaked and has ever since. This is on me, but it took me until now to have the time and energy to deal with this and have someone come out. We were now told that we needed NEW gutters!! And with the new gutters we'd need a new system! Basically starting from scratch!! They "cut us a deal" and could do it for $7000. No thank you. These gutters can rot off our house for all I care. This was a waste of time and a lot of money!! I'm updating my review. Twig if you're actually the business manager you don't seem to take the 1 stars too seriously. Every single bad review has the same canned response and no follow up. Poor customer service the day the repair guy came out and bad service even after a poor review. I guess who cares as long as you can sucker someone else into throwing thousands of dollars at you. To all people that are considering these types of gutter improvements. In theory it makes sense. In reality there is to many uncontrollable issues that make this NOT work . Issues are 1. Trees and types of trees on your property AND neighbors property. Small flower parts will get stuck in filters. 2 Wind bourn dirt/ dust. Will get stuck in filters. 3. types of roofing material. Grit shedding will get stuck in filters. Guarantee does not cover this. I've had to take these down only after 3 years and thousands of $ later from many customers. You fail to note the broken roof tile; the picture of the lack of cleaning. The installers never did rinse my gutters which every other gutter cleaner I have had does. Worse than trying to buy a car. They start out at 10k and end up at 3k if you haggle. I haggled with them but due to their tactics, I decided they weren't the type of company I want to do business with. I feel sorry for the people that don't know any better and pay 10k for a job that costs the maybe and thats a big maybe 1k in materials. I paid for the filter to be installed to just shy of the middle of the back of my house above my office window not only did the installer not complete what I paid for he stopped on the side of my house so they are trying to charge me for a incomplete job. Do not use these people they're rip offs starting from the quote to the installer. I wanted to get a quote from these guys. They double booked my free estimate. So they came out twice. That's really nothing though 1st issue they quoted me 14k I said no, than he dropped it down to 11k. I said no. Then he asked if I had any military experience or know a family member I said my grandpa is military. He than dropped it down to 9k. I said no again. He than dropped it down to 4k if I put a sign in the yard for a month. I said no this sounds pretty fishy. So I called them and canceled everything. Now the owner calls me while I'm at work. I put him to voicemail. That usually means I'm busy. He called me back 4 times I put him to voicemail every time. Then he text me....i have the thread and I'm debating on posting it.. He said he's helping me out because he thinks I can't afford them. I said money isn't the issue here. He proceeded to say that I made them come out to my house for nothing. ITS A FREE ESTIMATE!!! He than tells me to do the gutters myself. I said no I will pay someone to do it, just not you!" The salesman was cool that he sent out here though he did try to sale really hard though almost to hard. Senior Sales Executive (C. Brown) came to our home to provide a quote. After an examination of our gutters, he provided a very sketchy estimate without any specific basis. We asked for a breakout of labor and materials but never received it. He then proceeded to show discounts, one for senior or military and the other for an immediate purchase. Both discounts were significantly miscalculated based on percent of price. He never discussed the linear feet basis but had incoherent stated numbers scratched on the sheet he gave us, which included what appeared to be $800 with "Admin" written below it. Pricing for construction projects ALWAYS include administrative as overhead INCLUDED in pricing. He also never reviewed his pricing with us to explain his scratching. If a vendor wishes to isolate overhead costs, they will lose their customers. That is not the way to bid a project. After reviewing review sites for Leaf Filter, we discovered that the quote we received to be way over priced. MarketWatch showed an equivalent pricing of $5,400 for 200 linear feet. This Old House website showed similar pricing with other web reviews showing equivalent pricing. His pricing was twice what other sites showed for Leaf Filter. Additionally, a large number of reviewers claimed Leaf Filter was way over priced. Leaf Filter quoted the amount it took to replace our entire fence. For a company that has a contractor's license and is listed on the Contractor's State License Board (California), his quote was very substandard so that we would not trust that he or his company would prepare a licensed contract per California code. We are very familiar with construction contracts to know what they must include. Given the estimate we received, would not trust the work. Reading other reviews also makes us skeptical about the company's business practices and only affirm our own experience of obtaining a quote, which was not really a coherent quote but incoherent scratches on paper. It was quite evident that this sales person did not know how to prepare a project estimate. This salesman did not have an email on his business card for contacting him. We decided not to use Leaf Filter. Not worth the risk. We can purchase similar materials at Home Depot and install them at 10-20% of the price this company wanted to charge. read more

Zach Brown is probably one of the most unprofessional and rude people that I've had to deal with regarding business. When trying to converse with Zach Brown regarding a proposal, contract, the issues of their product etc., all he wanted to do was argue. I was treated disrespectfully, yelled at, talked over and was never able to address any issues. Again, I tried to communicate with leaf filter and try to find resolution to this MESS. Leaf Filter's employee/acting agent of their company, Zach brown, was unwilling to be cooperative, or try to negotiate any type of reasonable conclusion to our business. Leaf filter served us paperwork, without trying to resolve any issues or hear our concerns. Next thing I know, a process server served papers on us for court. This ridiculous, unprofessional situation is now being represented by our attorney. I hired LeafFilter North to install the LeafFilter product on my home. A year later I was on my roof washing my solar panels and noticed no screens on my LeafFilter gutters. I contacted LeafFilter North and they said they would be out the next day to take care of it. The representative did show up and told me that because my contract did not say "screens" on it, they would have to charge me. I told them to get off my property. This is a bait-and-switch technique and no one should ever purchase from LeafFilter North. You get a lot of promises from the sales guy that already are not coming true. Two of my gutter seams leak. I waited several weeks for the tech to show up. The guy showed up two hours outside of the window because he was "double booked". No call or anything to let me know they were still coming or running late. Then tech did a total crap repair that made the gutter leak worse than before he came. With the heavy rain last year, our gutters overflowed and I am too old to want to get on the roof or climb a ladder. I responded to a mailer from Leaf Filter as I have heard of them and thought their product would be properly installed and useful for many years. The Leaf Filter representative was friendly and explained the product and installation and also answered my questions. I was surprised by how quickly the installation was completed. if I could give no stars I would. bought into this system for its ads of professionalism, a great product and service. needless to say, one day after install, rain occurred and had water rushing into my home. Cause.... downspouts not cleaned out , the debris from downspout clogged an upstairs deck drain and caused flooding into the house. Damage was warping of paint, moisture on the new wood flooring, and some minor water staining. Trouble shooter came out, still got out 2 lbs of debris from the downspout, checked other areas, found silicone dam blocking another downspout and various other install defects. Now going on 4 months with their insurance company with them saying it's my fault. The manager of Leaf Filter North in Stockton has never got back to me by phone, text, or email. The product quality and lifetime transferable warranty sold me on this product. They come out to clean your gutters and drainpipes, reseal the gutter seams and add new support brackets. Can't wait for the next winter season to see how the reinforced gutters handle the snow and ice on the roof. I am also not going to miss no longer having to clean the gutters every year.
