This company is so weird. They spend a ton in advertising. I had them out and their salesman was excellent. Knew everything but didn't deliver. I have a townhouse. They quoted me $7,500 for the work. I knew it was worth $2,000. So I got them down to $3,000 because I wanted to get it over with. My installation day was tough. They didn't tell me the time of day when they were coming. After repeated calls they showed up at around 5:00 PM. The crew was friendly but unprofessional. The truck they used caused me an embarrassment to be in my driveway. Looked liked they picked it up out of the junk yard. The installation went way to fast and they didn't do any of the services in the contract. Didn't check gutter pitch, didn't clean the gutters, etc. They left a bad edge on two pieces in the front that cut my American Flag into shreds. I do love the product so I haven't complained. They are heavily promoted at Lowes but I would not use them unless you get a really low price. Again, the product is really good. read more

Not a trustworthy business! We had leaf filter come out to do a free quote for the gutters and let them know upfront that we weren't interested in buying anything today, but needed to know roughly how much this would cost so we could plan for it in the future. The salesman we had, I will admit, was a nice guy. He seemed personable and we connected well with him, but I had a meeting for work and he pressured my husband and I to sit down and just take five minutes to listen to his speech we figured sure... and reminded him we weren't interested in buying anything today, but we would hear what the cost was. This turned into a 15 to 20 minute sales pitch with increasing pressure to sign documents then and there that day in order to take advantage of a deal. Originally we were quoted at like $9000 but the deal of the day was going to be 7500. Then he comes up with some additional discount so if we sign right now it's now $6000. I had a meeting that I was already late for and the salesman said that we would be able to sign and have 3 days no commitment to decide to proceed or cancel. With all of the pressure and my need to end the conversation we decided to sign the document and talk about it later that night. Ultimately, we decided to hold off. We weren't ready to spend that amount of money. We called back and let them know. Then we started getting texts and calls about better offers and the final offer we got was $2400!!! After being quoted $9000. This tells me that this company is just after your money and is not giving transparent pricing. We felt so disrespected by the first quotes and felt like we were just being swindled from the beginning. The $2000 range was more what we initially expected anyway as a quote so this is probably closer to actual cost of this system, but we chose not to move forward with this company because of their shady pricing and high-pressure sales tactics. read more

I had this company come out in 2023, to install gutters on my home. They did a terrible job. 3 years later, and all gutters are leaking, and all the fascia boards are trashed. At the beginning of experience. This company installed the gutter improperly. They failed to install the gutters underneath the roofing shingles. They had a service tech come out, and he told me, " oh yeah, they installed these incorrectly, but there's nothing we can do " 3 months and 3 higher ups later. They finally send a guy out to my property, to look at the terrible job they did. He sends the same service guy who told me, there's nothing they can do, and he just barely gets the gutters installed properly. Mind you, they used drywall screws to install fascia boards. They dug a hole in my roof on the back of my house, trying to pry up shingles. Just a horrible job. I should have contacted BBB, 3 years ago and reported them. I just had such a hard time with them, trying to get them to do the job correctly, that by the end of the experience, of the first go around, I just wanted them out. Horrible experience. Sales man, went away the second there was any hint of a problem. They kept passing me off, from one guy to the next. 3 years later, all the fascia boards are trash. And my roof is leaking. We have used leaf filter twice now. The first time was fine. This time they missed a section of guards. It is a small section. The job was done in November of 2024, and we didn't climb a ladder and check there work. That is kind of the point of their commercials. So now after paying 4,942.00 they want additional 125.00 to come out and look at the section that they failed to install. Looks like I'm gonna have to climb a ladder after all. Hired LeafFilter to remove my old gutters and guards and install new gutters. They sent a contractor out(not employees). The crew caused $4500 worth of damage to my roof which took almost 3 months to get them to pay. Besides the damage to my roof by trying to cut the old guard down instead of removing them they didn't install gutter aprons behind the new gutter. After going over all of the information, Bill quoted me a very high price for the project. When I declined, he greatly cut the price, but it was only good if I signed on that day, which, in my opinion, was suspect. I told Bill I wanted to look around and get several quotes, and he became quite difficult. This went on for a number of minutes, and the more I explained my point of view, he began to bully me and intimidate me. I finally told him to leave, and he just GLARED at me". He said, "WHOOAA!" in an angry and threatening tone. I told him to leave again, and he did the same, only more angry and threatening than the time before. I finally got him to leave. Right off, I need to say that I think Leaf Filter is the best gutter system. I ALSO need to say that their installation and follow up is worse than anything I can imagine. I paid cash up front to a gal who guaranteed me that our gutters would be cleaned inside and out (moss), our downspouts realigned to improve flow, and that we would be left with a "looking like new" system. What actually happened is that the initial installers (who spoke no English we could discern) did their install and left without cleaning or realigning ANYTHING. I was disappointed, and called to complain and schedule a 2nd appointment to fix things. Had to take time off work to be there. Was SUPPOSED to get a confirmation call the day before (didn't). Called the company that morning and they gave me a 8-12 window. Started calling the company at 1:00 and was promised a callback. No callback. Called again, promised a callback. No callback. Called again, got a gal who said she would reschedule another appointment. Another day off work? I have to be punished for their mistake? No thank you. Told her to have a manager call me. Manager finally called and said original "fixer" had had car trouble and couldn't make it. I asked if his car trouble meant his phone didn't work either. No answer to that. He also pushed for a reschedule. I was NOT interested, since they had missed THIS appointment no reason to assume they'll do better next time, after all. It costs me money to miss work. He went away, called back to say a manager would be out to do the work...I asked "all the work?" He said to realign the gutters. I asked about the exterior moss cleanup. He said Leaf Filter doesn't do that. I told him the gal who did the estimate (who I paid on the spot) assured me they did. I am (right now) waiting for that manager to call me (as the first guy said he would). Do not have high hopes at this time. If he DOES call, and he DOES show up, I'll amend this review, but right now I have NO hope. I gave them more than 10K to do what they promised, and it turns out they had NO intention of honoring their part of the bargain. None. Zilch. For 10K I could pay someone $250 bucks twice a year (which is what it costs) to have my "gutter problem" taken care of for the next 20 years, and still have come out ahead of the $10K I ALREADY paid Leaf Filter. Do that. Pay a neighborhood kid a fair amount to do something that will make you happy. Learn from my mistake!!! (What follows is any amendment I could make after/if the "manager" came out and fulfilled their part of the bargain): ?? Here is what happened next. A guy showed up. He found two BIG gaps in the original install, and he had to admit they hadn't touched our downspouts. Did what he could to get the downspouts realigned, but it turned out he didn't have the parts necessary to fix the big gaps. Guess what? Promised to come back the NEXT day. Another day off work for yours truly (sigh). The NEXT day he did show up with the parts to do the fixes, and I hope he did them right (I'm gonna have a buddy with a drone come and check, because no way am I going all the way up on the top floor). I am leaving this "meh" review because Leaf Filter absolutely did NOT provide the service their "estimate gal" said they would (which I believed and gave them a big chunk of change for). The first team DID do a sub-par job, because the "fixer" found plenty to fix (but it took him two visits to accomplish it). Based on the reviews I just read about LeafFilter installation, it looks like we dodged a bullet! Salesman came out on Monday and gave us the usual bs about this price is only good today. Reluctantly, we agreed and he said we could get the installation done on Wednesday morning at 8:00am. Ha!! At 7:00am, the installer called my husband and said they needed to finish a job from yesterday, but they would be at our house by 12:00pm. That came and went. No phone call, so we called the salesman. He said he would find out what happened and call back. My husband gave him 5 minutes. The gutters on my house were a mess. They kept getting debris in them, and the one on one side of my house was bowed in the middle, so water collected there and froze into something similar to what ended up crashing through Todd & Margo's window and destroying their stereo in "Christmas Vacation." So I did some online research and found and called Leaf Filter.. Salesman comes to my house that night. Goes through his whole presentation. Tells me I don't need new gutters, that they can shim the old one and get the bow out of the middle and add the screening on top. He also said they'd clean all the gutters and downspouts out, seal them all with 50 year guaranteed sealant that will prevent leaks, and put the mesh on. For the front of the house and the two sides he said $2500. I was a bit skeptical at the high cost but since my knowledge of gutters is limited I said okay. He said they'd come the next morning. When I asked if I needed to be home he said no, I could just leave the check in an envelope taped to the front door. Red flag #1. So I took the morning off in order to be there. Good thing I did. Around 8:00 the next morning a van pulls up. One guy gets out. I go back inside to let him work. Immediately I hear drilling and I'm wondering how he's cleaning and sealing the gutters when he already is installing the filters. By 9:15 he's FINISHED. I'm like what? How the hell did he do all that in 75 minutes? I go outside and he's holding a customer satisfaction form for me to sign. I tell him I'm not signing anything until I look at what he's done. The look on his face told me he did not expect me to climb up there and take a look. The pics below are of the MESS this guy did, and that's just on one side of the house. In one area the mesh wasn't even under the lip of the piece they installed. I can literally slide my hand under the mesh. I climb down and tell him I'm not signing anything and I'm not paying him until I speak with his manager. Manager calls me and I text him the pics. He says he'll send their senior installer out either tomorrow or Friday to make things right. I do NOT pay the driver, even though he looks annoyed. Sorry Charlie. Then a neighbor of mine who's a contractor sees the mess while I'm at work and calls me. Tells me he knows a guy who's been in the gutter installation business for years and was right in the area. Said he'd go by my house and call me. He calls like 10 minutes later and tells me he my gutter DID need replacing and that they were pulling away from the house, so basically Leaf FIlter were charging me a fortune and installing mesh filters on gutters that were about to collapse. The guy then tells me he will replace the old gutters with brand new ones and use a better method of filtering them for over a thousand dollars less. I call Leaf Filter the next morning and tell them I'm canceling the contract, which according to it is my right within three days. No call back. The next day I text the manager and tell him I'm canceling and for him to send someone to remove what they installed so my guy can start work. He says he'll call later. No call. This morning I text photos of the contract with the cancellation portion dated and signed by me to the manager. He answers and asks if I want someone to come and fix it. I tell him no, I've hired another company. Just send your guy to remove what was installed and if not the new installer will remove them and I would leave them where they could come and collect them. He replies and says he's not in sales so he's sending my "case" to his ops manager. I'm waiting to hear back from him. Thank goodness I read the red flags and withheld payment. After charging $6,000 to clean, repair, install brackets in gutters, stating that it has a lifetime warrant, for 132" clay leaffilter copper gutters, it turned out that they did not do all areas as indicated in the contract. I clicked a Facebook ad, filled a form, got a call the next day. The appointment-setter asked for my availability, then asked if my wife would be available at the same time, because they would offer a discount if we both heard the sales pitch - a smart sales move that probably gets them a higher conversion rate, but definitely on the creepy/shady side. Sales guy Joe came out the next day - friendly, professional, respectful. Took some quick measurements and wrote up a quote. It started at $4000, then became $2600 if I signed a contract same day, which then became $2400 with minimal effort from me. (I told him I had a quote for roughly 30% of his lowest number, which was true.) So, the list price is clearly BS, and there's loooooots of room to negotiate. He left, I went inside, and did a few web searches. Lo and behold, this company (which apparently is BBB A+ rated, Inc rated, the most amazing company on earth with lifetime warranties on all the things) has 1 to 1.5 star Yelp ratings nationwide. Huh? I texted Joe and politely asked him for his take on the horrific Yelp ratings. He said it was the first he'd heard of it (uh-huh) and that he'd call his office to ask. Then, radio silence. Really weird company. I called to get a simple estimate. I deal with contractors all the time, both professionally and for my home and this was one of the worst and most ridiculous experiences I can remember for something as simple as getting an estimate. Our appointment was scheduled for 3pm, and a guy, I believe Trevor (though he didn't have a business card on him, which was unprofessional), from leaf filter shows up at 12:30. Immediately after we are standing outside the house, he starts asking inappropriate and irrelevant questions about who lives in the house and explaining how he wants to speak to me wife as well. As if that is his right or something. It was sleazy to the point I almost couldn't believe I was hearing it correctly. I shut that down, explaining I'm looking for a quote, and that he can easily get dimensions of my gutter from google. I'm planning to get a few quotes to compare against just sticking with regular gutter cleanings. A pretty normal process, and one that most contractors understand as a perfectly reasonable thing to do. This guy was some weird salesman. Eventually he spits out a ridiculous price, $25,000 for gutter guards!! From my total lack of response, and Realizing immediately he overshot, he starts talking about discounts and if I lock in now, I can get them for like $12,500. It makes me both laugh and frustrated to have him waste my time with this garbage. I'm used to getting high prices in my area from contractors, but not the used car sales tricks with anchoring, exploding offer "discounts", trying to play spouses against each other, etc. This guy must be used to dealing with a lot of suckers, to try such obvious sleazeball and sexist tactics. Please read the 1 star reviews...this is not one to take with grain of salt. This should not happen to another consumer The salesman comes does the high pressure sales, he says sign here to secure the price covers the papers so all I see is the line. I said multiple times I have to speak to the co-owner to make decision. I said we need to discuss to make sure we wanted to do this. I was not given a business card. I wasn't even given a copy of what I signed (now I know why). In any event he had to look at something, because one of Leaffilter sheet says they realign the gutters and repair( that did not happen). I said to him yes definitely need the gutters realigned especially in the front. We were outside in the backyard. He put fear about my foundation if I didn't have the right system it will cause damage to the foundation. He went to go look at the front and my dog followed and she ran off. I went with my son to find her, finally got her put her inside, went in the backyard Trevor (salesman) is nowhere to be found. I was ready to call him and when he comes around yells "the system Is getting installed today." I say "wait I told you I won't be home." He says "you don't have to be home. " I am now nervous, because how do they have the product the right amount for my home. I said "did someone cancel am I getting used product?" He says "No we are a big company." Forgot a detailed part of the sales pitched not only did he mention a list of things the project includes he says Leaffilter does not outsource their work they hire their own and LEAFFILTER DOES NOT SUBCONTRACT. This was in his binder as the sales pitch. I checked my cameras and well they subcontract the work, the workers did not realign nor repair. The filters are in no way surgical grade, the one worker slipped them on and throws on the ground like garbage. Once I see the work I take pictures And looked at my camera footage. It was awful, the job is awful the ruined my fascia. Call Trevor no answer text and he says what do you want me to do about it. I asked for a phone number he doesn't know. Now my stomach is in my throat. I got scammed. Illinois has the 3 day right to cancel Contract Act, even if work is Initiated the contractor can not take the right away. I call the 800 I found get hung up on. Promised call back nope. Today a manager Josh calls and he says someone will call me today. Guess what no call. Leaffilter is a scam they pay for the good reviews pay BBB for A+rating pointless to go complain to BBB. Since they took my 3 day right to cancel away and basically committed Consumer fraud with the false advertising and saying they will realign repair etc and don't. This is going to the attorney general and has already gone to the FTC. I will need to have another company come out, fix the necessary repairs and damages they caused And remove The Leaffilters. LeafFilter will cause you more work than if you had to clean your gutters. It may be true, as stated in their warranty, that the inside of the gutters won't clog but the problem is the needles and leaves just piles up on top of the filter and the water overflows everywhere. It leaves needles sticking to the outer edge, and the water flows over the edge and down around the gutter to the underside and the wood eaves. Save your money and have your gutters cleaned, This is not a good design. read more

Extremely disappointed with Leaf Filter Gutter Protection, purchased these last summer. Sales was great, installation and service extremely poor. Had an installation date/time, installer was a no show. Several calls to get it rescheduled, 2nd installer was a no show. Scheduled between 1:00-5:00pm, I call same day at 5:05 asking where they are and was told he was still coming. Finally showed up at 8:30pm and the majority was installed in the dark. Called to complain and got no reply to calls or emails. Last week I woke to noise outside, it was the brand new leaf filters, an 8' piece, hanging off the roof and blowing against the siding. Called for service under the lifetime warranty, scheduled a repairman for between 1:00-5:00pm on Thursday, again a no show. Called to ask where my service was, they apologized and promised someone would call the following day (Friday) by 5:00pm to reschedule. Called again Monday morning and was told they would expedite a call back --- as of 5:30pm still no call back. These were not cheap. What purpose does their lifetime warranty provide you they do not provide the service? I would NOT recommend Leaf Filter Gutter Protection to anyone. read more

Leaf filter is a fraudulent company who's installers are LIARS! It has taken the company 5 visits to my home to install 2 new gutters and leaf filter on all new and existing gutters and the job is still NOT done right. In addition to telling me the job was completely when NO leaf filters had been installed. It took another 3 attempts to get the leaf filter to send the correct people back. I directly asked the installers if they had the leaf filter system on the two new gutters and they said yes. The next day, I can see they are not installed. The ones they did install have gaps and one flew off in the rain an was in my neighbors gangway this morning. So they were obviously not installed and secured properly. This company and its third party installers are purposely delaying, and trying to take advantage of me. Leaf filter is unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. Horrible customer service. They damaged my property. They left a mess. They even installed their own product incorrectly. The THREE times I called customer service during the three days immediately following installation I was promised a call back from a manager. I never heard from anyone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Shadow Me 2 minutes ago Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness The salesperson came out on February 24 2021. He seemed very professional and spoke to my wife and I. We agreed to have gutters on one side of our replaced because they were destroyed by ice. The other side of our house the gutters had fallen and were hanging on top of my window. They were scheduled for March 4 from 9-11. I got a call at 1020 saying they would b late. I called the office at 2 and the person that answered the phone said "this is exactly why we shouldn't give people times ". He told me the truck broke down and they were being towed. As I was speaking to him a truck pulled up across the street from my house and looked at one side and then pulled forward to look at the other side then left. The salesperson called me and asked if they had been there and then made a bunch of excuses. So it got rescheduled for March 16 no call no show. Then on the 19 they show up. I have to explain the job and am told they don't have the gutter clips and need scaffolding to put them up. Who shows up to do a job without the equipment they need. Plus they couldn't see the gutter was hanging from my window. They said they would be back the next day. Guess what no call no show. I called the office and they tell me it's been rescheduled for the 24 and they called and left me a message. I don't know who they called but it wasn't me. I told them don't set foot on my property we are done. I will now look for someone else to actually do the job and hopefully won't have to lose 3 days of pay with them. No idea. But they just called me 18 times in 16 hours, after being told 3 times to stop and an additional STOP in writing. Would never hire someone this desperate. Also, not very truthful. Their online form takes your information with the promise of pricing details and claims that your phone number will not result in sales calls. They never stop calling and they don't leave messages.
