There are two things I loathe and avoid if at all possible, trips to the dentist and leaving reviews on websites, so it took quite a situation to make me do both. After years of avoiding it, I finally couldn't and had to visit a dentist so a colleague pointed me to Leaf. I can honestly say there was a stark contrast between Leaf and all the other dentists I've been to. Visiting a dentist for major work, any dentist, is going to be a miserable experience, but there are parts of that which the dentist can control and parts that just suck no matter who you see. The thing about Leaf (I saw Dr. Goldman BTW) is that if they can do something to make it better, they do, and they do it well. It is having a TV on set to whatever program you want while you are in the chair to distract you from the dental work. It is really convenient business hours, and appointments that start when they are supposed to. It is bending over backwards to be warm, friendly, and humorous to put you at ease. And, in my humble opinion, it is particularly about being super willing to numb the hell out of the part they are working on so you hurt as little as possible. Leaf is what happens when a great deal of competence is mixed with focus and a lot of motivation to do something well. I still loathe going to the dentist and there will be fingernail gouges in the sidewalk all the way back there if I ever get dragged into one again, but you can be certain they'll lead to the Leaf office in Dumbo. read more
