However the ambience did not prepare us for the meal that was to come. There was a wide range of starters to choose from. My favourite was the fresh peach filled with tuna and mayonnaise. Wonderful. There was a choice of main courses and these were delicious and beautifully presented. The cheese board, which had a wide choice was left on the table and I think we sampled most of them. Sweets were in a refrigerated cabinet for us to make our own choice. It was difficult to choose but my Ile de Flottante proved to be a good choice. Wine or cider was included in the meal which was followed by coffee. All of this was included in the 12 euro menu. Excellent!, A first class meal at a very reasonable price. If you are in the area, give it a try. It is good.

We began with the chilled buffet, which provided plenty of options to fill your plate. I loved the smoked herring salad. For mains we split between Turkey and pork both of which were in superb sauces and were accompanied by proper mashed potato. We skipped the cheese board, even though it looked great because we were in danger of severely overeating. Again, there was a wide selection of deserts and all this was washed down with our choice of wine colour and coffee. Great! Not the finest premises but a brilliant meal especially for 12 euros. Tell Baptiste I sent you.

Recommended by the Countess de Vanssay, we went to dinner at Manoir de Saint Quentin and if I could…read moregive it 10 stars I would! The setting and ambiance are beautiful, elegant and the service impeccable, yet fun and relaxed. Chef Faï was simply superlative. His cooking has the heart and soul of France and French gastronomy which has been kissed and painted expertly with nuanced Asian flavors and ingredients. A house cocktail of litchi, guava and white wine with a drop of vodka - I could drink pitchers of it all summer long... The starter of fresh crab cakes with fresh herbs and mustard sauce immediately set the tone for the evening. Fresh, sweet, delicate crab kissed with fresh herbs and a light mustard sauce was amazing. I do not like crab - but I ate every bit of Chef Faï's crab and wiped the plate clean with the delicious bread. The green salad with crispy fish skin, dressed lightly in a classic French style vinaigrette with classic Asian ingredients like Chinese or Japanese mustard, sesame oil and perhaps Japanese rice vinegar was just another level of culinary perfection. The dishes were all amazing, the bread and wine perfect, I could go on and on...but it's better to experience Chef Faï's artistry yourself - in person. I understand why people return again and again to his magical restaurant. I know that we will return any chance we have when in France because it is definitely an experience to enjoy again and again!! Thank you Chef Faï - incredible, incredible and 5 full stars at minimum - and deserving of a sky full of stars to be honest.
