The setting and ambiance are beautiful, elegant and the service impeccable, yet fun and relaxed. Chef Faï was simply superlative. His cooking has the heart and soul of France and French gastronomy which has been kissed and painted expertly with nuanced Asian flavors and ingredients. A house cocktail of litchi, guava and white wine with a drop of vodka - I could drink pitchers of it all summer long... The starter of fresh crab cakes with fresh herbs and mustard sauce immediately set the tone for the evening. Fresh, sweet, delicate crab kissed with fresh herbs and a light mustard sauce was amazing. I do not like crab - but I ate every bit of Chef Faï's crab and wiped the plate clean with the delicious bread. The green salad with crispy fish skin, dressed lightly in a classic French style vinaigrette with classic Asian ingredients like Chinese or Japanese mustard, sesame oil and perhaps Japanese rice vinegar was just another level of culinary perfection. The dishes were all amazing, the bread and wine perfect, I could go on and on...but it's better to experience Chef Faï's artistry yourself - in person. I understand why people return again and again to his magical restaurant. I know that we will return any chance we have when in France because it is definitely an experience to enjoy again and again!! Thank you Chef Faï - incredible, incredible and 5 full stars at minimum - and deserving of a sky full of stars to be honest.

So I'm a huge fan of Foie gras, it's definitely one of my favorite things to eat. Unfortunately…read moreit's not very abundant where I live (Hawaii) so it's expensive and you get this tiny little portion about the size of a 50 cent piece. When we ate at Le Mére Hamard, my friend ordered the Foie gras with banyuls and carmelized turnips for dinner and when it came out, my eyes bulged out their sockets. There were 3 cutlets of foie gras each the size of a scroll wheel mouse! SERIOUSLY?! This dish would be equal to getting 7 or 8 foie gras portions in Hawaii. The cutlets were in a rich butter and banyul wine sauce that (I think) had demi glace in it. The diced carmelized turnips added just the right texture to the fatty livers. Holy schmolly this was incredibly good. The other dishes ordered were: Pressed rabbit terrine and Foie gras Steamed mussels in curry cream and crispy mushrooms Slow braised veal shanks (special of the day) Desserts: Baba ah rum with vanilla ice cream Pain perdu with fresh raspberries Raspberries in creme anglaise Everything was over-the-top delicious! There were also 2 amuse bouches served prior to the main dish and a small plate of sweet petit fours before the dessert. The great food and the friendly staff (that all spoke english very well) made this the most memorable meal of the trip. i hope to return.

We had no complaints about any of the courses. The prix fixe was great value, and the ambiance of the restaurant is small and special. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Blois, and I highly recommend the croq chou, one of the top, if not the best dessert I have ever tasted! 10/10.

Service was friendly and efficient enough. No complaints there. I chose the plate of the day, which was a steak in red wine sauce. The dish was visually appealing, with artfully diced and presented squash, asparagus, and carrots, potatoes, and the sauce with shallots. However, the flavor was lacking, and the meat was unevenly cooked and tough in spots. The appetizer of 3 shrimp in a carrot-cardamom purée was good, but not exceptional. The presentation was outstanding. I also had a glass of very average house wine. My companion's fish with coconut-lime sauce was better, with nicely cooked scorpionfish. Verdict - this sounds terrible, but while the value was good for the meal (e29 total), I wish I had stopped at the bakery-cafe down the street instead as I expect the dishes would have been more flavorful. Either that, or my palate was just off during the visit. I've never touched the salt shaker in France before but this time, the flavors needed a boost.
