I went in to look at my options for a reliable and 'pretty' street bike with a few trimmings like baby seat, bike lock, helmet x 2 (one for the little one too) and a basket. I came out with an 'eco' bike with all the trimmings I wanted at a price just above what I expected to pay. Sherryn helped me out no end and I felt like I made a new friend. She was not salesy at all and knew her stuff, answering all my questions - and there were many. She was also very patient with my 10 month old daughter who was grizzly after a big day out and didn't want to try on heavy helmets. She was also patient with me as I took forever to decide between the pink and the green striped number (a gals gotta match her bike!) Sherryn organized for the team to fix the baby seat, basket and stand as well as deliver to my home free of charge within a few days of my store visit. Will, the ultra friendly Scottish lad who delivered my bike also showed me how to take the baby seat on and off. I can not recommend the women's Clarence Street Cyclery enough. P.S. the Eco Trek bike is made from recycled, locally or sustainably sourced materials and it is very nice to ride indeed.

Looks like the shop is in an old service station so heaps of parking & easy access from the busy road. The staff were friendly & gave me a few options when I said I needed chain oil. I saw a brand I had used before - Rock n Roll but forgot which one was for which type of bike. Quick question - easy answer & sold. The shop is not near where I live but I would head back there if I cannot find what I need for my bike close to home in the future. Friendly relaxed staff & a nice store with a good range of bikes & products.

Paid almost $100 AUD for the service and was assured everything had been checked and attended to. Imagine the surprise on day 2 when the front wheel almost detached from the bike whilst cycling... I looked up their number and texted Adam to see if I could get my bike serviced the following day. He got right back to me and I was booked in without any problems. I rode in and he arrived to open the shop right on 8am. A full service including parts cost just shy of 100 bucks and was done by lunchtime. Before replacing a few parts that cost a few bucks Adam even called to confirm that I wanted that done. Then when I picked the bike up he had all the old parts tied to the bike in a bag so that I could see what had been replaced, how worn out it was, etc. Apparently he also services strollers and wheelchairs as well. Really nice guy and an excellent service - I'll be back for sure.

I have been looking for a basket although now that my front tyre has punctured getting that fixed should be my priority. Anyway Cheeky Bikes has great baskets and their prices are really reasonable (I can get exactly what I need for $25 and it is a steel mesh basket). They also have some clever innovative items like a takeout basket, which comes with an insulated cooler bag all for $90 (very reasonable). Also Cheeky Transport offers hand built bikes made by the store's owner, they look great, if you are a serious cyclist or want a really stylish bike, they are an excellent option. And they sell a whole range of cargo bikes. The shop has all the bike accessories one could want and the staff are friendly and helpful, this may be the best bike shop I've seen yet.
