I had also done a couple root touch ups at home with clairol. I am not from the area and I don't have a regular stylist here. I saw all of the reviews on yelp and the before and after pics, on her website, so I booked a consultation with Veronica. She is highly educated and experienced and walked me through the processes my hair needed to get good color. She was thorough and gave me a time and cost quote as well. Super professional! Clearly the stylist had no idea what she was doing. The hair was not very short but not hanging on her shoulders length. I could not believe what I saw. So terribly disappointing. The shampoo job was another issue. My aunt told the girl there was a fair amount of hair spray in the hair, she used next to no shampoo and barely massaged what there was in , like she was afraid to touch her head. My aunt has been getting her hair done every week since I was a child and I am a young 70. I was pretty disappointed, so I called Simply Aveda to ask if they had someone there who might be able to fix it and they set me up with an appointment with Nicholas. He made me feel welcome and comfortable right away. He is so nice and fun to chat with! But most importantly, he is very knowledgeable and highly skilled. He listened to my concerns, came up with a plan to remediate the horrible hair that I came in with, and by the end of the visit, I walked out with a big smile on my face, the color I was hoping to have at my wedding, and a gorgeous blow out. I wish I'd done this sooner because it would've saved me hours of driving. This location is so cute. I got the chance to meet one of the owners who is actually a curly girl!!! They've been open for about 2.5 years and they're really close. The other two owners are engaged. Walking in from the parking lot will take you to the barbershop; on the other side is the actual salon. I got the cut and splice (I'm sorry if I murdered that) and it was $90. Idk if they publish the barber prices but I didn't see a price list for the salon. My experience with curly cuts is that it goes off of time and not necessarily what you're getting done. I wish I could take these folks with me! It's a contemporary salon that services men and women. They offer you not only great conversation but also a beverage. I wish I would've taken picture of the establishment because it was so funky fresh and hip. I really enjoyed my time here and loved that they didn't try to force me to buy any products or additional services.
