The interior of the restaurant is very nice, with a cool overhead circular screen on the ceiling that portrays the night sky with shooting stars going past it. The hotel and the environment is definitely upscale, so it's a good place for special events. For the food we got foie gras, octopus, and lobster pasta as our dishes. Even though some other comments on Yelp didn't like their food, I think that it was cooked fine and I enjoyed what we got. The food is on the pricey side, but I think that's to be expected given the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. The lobster and octopus were done well, and the foie gras also was tasty. If you're in Nice, this is a solid place to check out if you want a nice environment to dine in!

The Pluma de patanegra with mashed potatoes was awesome this pork dish had so much flavor that I would have licked the plate had nobody been looking, really great. The double pork chop was very tasty with garlic juice and "granille"potatos. The hanger steak was also really good as well as the ravioli stuffed with "double nicoise", onions, mushrooms and slow cooked ham. The service, on the other hand, was deplorable. Our server made it very clear early on that although he spoke perfect English, he did not care for Americans. So, he went out of his way to give us the bare minimum of service. He did not clear any empty cans or glasses from our table over the entire two hours we were there, he did not attempt to be friendly, he did not check to see if we needed anything. He served me a room temperature bottle of beer, and when I mentioned it to another person they brought me an ice cold bottle...so it's not that they weren't available. We also arrived when the restaurant was essentially empty, and they went out of their way to seat us at the worst table available (sloped down the street so the table was tilted). Meanwhile, our same server was downright jovial with anyone that was fluent in French. Mercifully, we have had a much better experience at every single other place we have visited in our week here in Nice. La Ptite Cocotte seems to be the exception rather than the rule. That being said, we can absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant if you want to be treated like a guest rather than simply tolerated.

We did the prie fix menu of that week and the kids are still talking about their meal. Some of the dishes: gazpacho, mini "burger" of delicious cheese sans meat, pork chop over silky mashed potato, squid ink risotto, lemon ricotta ravioli, pannacotta, cheese board. We talked about how good everything was throughout the entire meal. I think we were lucky to get a table for our party of five because when we tried to return the following evening with the rest of our group (10 total) they could not accommodate us. My mom was disappointed she couldn't eat the pannacotta again. So maybe plan ahead for a big group- it's petite inside and has a little patio in front outside.
