I stopped in for something sweet after dinner and got a dulce de leche flavored gelato. It was very good. It tasted just like dulce de leche. The gelato was smooth with a good consistency. I liked it. It was a small shop. Inside it had places to sit. It was nice inside. They sell other things here like pastries, crepes, smoothies and coffee. The area has public parking. In front of the shop there is some limited parking spots. Not far a garage. The staff was helpful. The service was fast. This little shop was the perfect spot for a little after dinner snack. read more

It was a breezy Deerfield Beach night perfect for a late night cup of espresso. Le Rendez-Vous was definitely in a touristy area but the price for a cup of Vienna Austria Julian Meinl espresso was subtle at only $3.50 which I appreciated. The place had a strong French Café vibe. Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. The coffee was presented in a small porcelain cup on a saucer. Very strong espresso and could feel the buzz quickly. Normally I do not drink coffee after 4pm but it was an odd occassion. A fellow Yelper named Judy had a Dulce de Leche gelato and it looked good but I was already stuffed from dinner, so just coffee for me. The gender neutral bathroom was clean and had a disclaimer posted to the door that the business was not responsible for items left by customers. So hold your stuff close to you. read more

We dropped by for coffee on the way home after a Yelp event. The gelato looked wonderful, but I was too full to try. The coconut was calling my name though. Judy S said the dulce de leche flavor was very good. And Daren R liked his single shot espresso.... Will have to come back when next in the area for the gelato. Le Rendez Vous in Deerfield Beach. The name alone sets you up. You walk in expecting a charming Parisian escape. What you get is... Deerfield with an accent. Based on the website and reputation, I was ready for magic. Maybe violins. Maybe a life changing espresso. Instead, I got average coffee and average gelato at a price point that suggests I also purchased partial ownership in the building. The coffee was fine. Not offensive. Not memorable. Just there. The gelato? Same story. Perfectly average. If this were a blind taste test at a gas station, I would have nodded politely and moved on with my life. But at these prices, I was expecting fireworks, a standing ovation, maybe a tiny Italian grandmother to pop out and hug me. The vibe tries hard. It really does. But at the end of the day, ambiance cannot carry a latte across the finish line by itself. Three stars. Not terrible. Not great. Just OK. I will be lowering my expectations for places that look like they're about to charge me extra for breathing the European air. Probably won't be back. read more

After dining at the Whale's Rib across the street my friend and I came over for a little after dinner dessert. I was impressed by how much they offered. They have French pastries, crepes, coffee including my favorite cappuccino, smoothies, shakes, and gelato. It is much more refined than your typical beach tourist ice cream shop. My friend and I were most interested in the gelato which we both love. It's only $4.44 for one scoop. I can close my eyes and imagine I am strolling the cobblestones of Rome. I have never been to Rome but a girl can dream. For those who might not know the difference between gelato and ice cream, both gelato and ice cream contain cream, milk and sugar but gelato uses more milk and less cream than ice cream . Gelato also omits egg yolks which are a common ingredient in ice cream. The result is that gelato is less fat, smoother, silkier, and denser than ice cream. It is also served 10 to 15 degrees warmer than ice cream which means that your tongue can taste more flavor but in the sun of Florida you are going to get a lot of drip. Fortunately we ate a table in the air conditioning. They offered a lot of the typical gelato flavors but they also had unique ones that I had never seen before like strawberry sorbet and cotton candy. We both ordered the After 8, a mint gelato studded with large pieces of chocolate. It was so refreshing and was just the perfect little bit of after dinner sweetness I was craving. Les Rendez-Vous is located just steps from the beach making it convenient to walk over. Now that it I know it is here I will be sure to come back and try the other European treats. read more

Came to this place after the beach to grab some coffee and saw they had crepes.... So we decided to give it a try! The lady that took care of us was very nice and made the espresso as ordered and the crepe from scratch... (they have the batter ready). So she made the crepe and after it was done folded it and then placed some real Nutella on top.... For me, would have liked some more Nutella but my wife was very pleased as she does not want it to sweet! The crepe alone was good which makes it a very good crepe... texture and flavor were both top! As for the coffee, very well made espresso as well with a notch of warm almond milk on the side! I took my granddaughter in the middle of the afternoon. The lady that was working was incredibly patient as she sampled 3 flavors. She wasn't sure what gelato was, but she loved it! Parking is tough too so expect to do some walking. There is very limited seating once inside. Menu They have pastries, various types of gelato, crepes, hot chocolate, coffee and more. Their hot chocolate is very unique and taste more like a milk shake. I've been there twice and really enjoy their vanilla, which is yellow, gelato. Their sorbet options are yummy too.
