On an Island renowned for gastronomy, the choices for lunch can be daunting, we have passed Le Portugale for years and decided to finally stop in for lunch, the outdoor patio was packed, mostly guys on their lunch break, thankfully invited us to sit inside. Lunch was a simple, two choice menu. At first disappointment set in by lack of options, but that quickly subsided by the most delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen. Served fantastic bread with amazing Portuguese olive oil accompanied with an ice cold Super Bock. Lunch soon followed and I was treated to possibly the best duck I have ever eaten. Wonderful casual Portuguese restaurant recommended by our fishing guide. We started with complimentary marcona almonds and olives and bread. Next were light fluffy beignets with sausage and cheese. I had a ribeye steak with fries and salad. My boyfriend had filet migbon with mushroom cream sauce. Too much food for dessert. Lots of fun and friendly hosts. read more
