Mini Mushroom tart
LaShanta H.

The show was much better than the food. Almost all of the food was cold. Nothing had very much flavor. Although, the manager was very accommodating and she noticed that I had not eaten a lot of the food so she asked me what they could do to fix it. And she did bring me a salmon dish that was hot.

Le Petit Cochon is the French Restaurant on the "Heaven" side st the Hard Rock Riviera Maya Resort. We tried every restaurant at the resort and this was one of our favorites. The place is very small with indoor and out door seating. Compared to some of the other resort restaurants, at Le Petit Cochon, you really felt like you were at a stand alone restaurant and not just at another place in the resort. Our server was outstanding. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy. For example, when my Husband was not happy with the soup choices our server went out of his way to get a soup from the Italian restaurant. The soups the restaurant did serve, the Lobster Bisque and French Onion Soup were okay. For my appetizer, I order the Mushroom Duxelles, which was kind of like a mushroom crepe. Interesting, but not something I would order again. We all loved our main dishes. Two of us (including myself) ordered the duck which was absolutely fantastic. The other two ordered the Filet Mignon which was also excellent. Dessert, the Chocolate Soufflé was a disappointment. I have never seen soufflé like that and it was served with ice cream. Thankfully, there was always gelato served every night in the lobby! I was glad kids were slowed on the "Heaven" side that week or else our boys would not have been allowed to eat at Le Petit Cochon. If you are staying at the Hard Rock, I would make dining at Le Petit Cochon a priority.

Let Petit is a French restaurant in Hard Rick resort located in the Heavens lobby the all adult portion of the resort. We ate dinner here twice and we got Teo totally different experiences. First one being excellent and the second not so much. The second time the whole food and the service was off. Since the restaurant is small getting a reservation is more difficult but my recommendation is to reserve your time slots for all the restaurants you want to eat at the first night you arrive.

The Chefs special each night is really good. I have had the pork shoulder and the sea bass and both are excellent.

Small space but good dining. Service was great and food comes out pretty quick. Make sure you try the Plum Tart for dessert!

We went to brunch at Lara & Luca. Very cute place with easy parking in the front, a guide is there
read moreto help you park, which is nice! Walking in, they're very welcoming! The restaurant is clean and very modern. The ceiling is cute! They have egg cartons as their ceiling! I was surprised that I couldn't just got hot black coffee, so I ordered a latte, wasn't disappointed! They even designed a heart at the top! We shared an almond croissant and they gave out passionfruit yogurt with a crunchy topping - these two things were my favorite of the meal. We are even talking about going back tomorrow just to get these two things! We also shared the Luca sandwich - this was delicious!! The sandwich has ham, cream cheese, mushrooms, and truffle oil, and topped with an egg. So delicious! There was a salad on the side that had some type of vinaigrette on it. The only complaint was that the vinaigrette was soaked up in the bottom piece of bread which made those bites a little busy when all in one bite. If I ever get a chance to order this again, I'd ask for the dressing on the side. We also got the chicken and waffles. This is the only thing we were disappointed with, not disappointed enough to mark the rest of the experience down though. The chicken was pretty good, but some bites were really salty. The waffle was so dry, even with adding the syrup, it didn't help with the waffle much. Overall, we loved this place! So glad we got to eat here! And the service was wonderful throughout the whole meal!

Trendy food spot near Playa Car that's worth a visit
read more Stopped by this place after seeing how good the food looked coming out of the kitchen--beautifully plated, fresh, and clearly made with care. The vibe is casual yet modern, with a trendy beach-town feel that fits the Playa Car scene perfectly. I ordered the croquette sandwich with an egg, and it absolutely delivered. The croquette was crispy on the outside, soft and savory inside, and the egg added a nice richness. What really elevated the whole dish, though, was the aioli--creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor. It tied everything together beautifully. Honestly, they should bottle that stuff. A nice surprise was the complimentary yogurt with grains that came out before the meal. It was a thoughtful touch--light, subtly sweet, and a great palate teaser before the main dish arrived. It gave the whole experience a more refined feel without being pretentious. Service-wise, it was minimal but efficient. The waitress was polite but a bit dry--no real recommendations or extra engagement--but everything arrived promptly and correctly, so no complaints there. All in all, it's a spot I'd happily return to. The food is excellent, the vibe is chill, and little touches like the complimentary yogurt show they're paying attention. Definitely a solid find near Playa Car.

Great brunch spot - fluffy omelettes and delicious fresh fruit. They were offering two for one
read moremimosas when I visited on a Saturday. Service a little slow. Was surprised how reasonable it was, given the location. Their pastries looked incredible, they have a dedicated pastry shop in the back. My friend's crepe was just ok.

Labrioche was an unexpected highlight of our recent Playa Del Carmen vacay. Conveniently located
read moreabout 1/2 block from our Airbnb, this little slice of France in the heart of jungle-like Calle 38 Nte should not be missed when visiting the best foodie street in town. With its open air vibe and plenty of jungle foliage, not to mention the 80+ degree heat and borderline oppressive humidity, Labrioche can't pretend to be in Paris. But it's about as close as you'll come to a quaint Parisian sidewalk cafe when in Playa. The seating is outdoor only, with friendly table service; and you can also pick up coffee, pastries, and sandwiches to go if needed for a day at the beach or a relaxing evening in the condo. Our favorite here were the almond and chocolate almond croissants. They were absolutely divine and I have to confess we enjoyed these sweet delicacies at least three or four mornings. Twice we also visited for a sit-down breakfast, sharing the generous La Mexicana breakfast with red chilaquiles, the freshest OJ ever, coffee, and a brioche. On the last day we stopped at their takeout counter (located in the back) to order some sandwich deliciousness for the plane ride home. I opted for the smoked salmon sandwich with boursin spread, avocado, and fresh tomatoes - all served atop a baguette that was as good as any I've ever had in a French bakery. What puts Labrioche over the top for me is the pricing. One morning we each had a latte, shared a total of three baked goods (hey, it was vacay!), OJ, and the La Mexicana - the bill was only $21 including gratuity. Amazing!

Got to try the... - The mussels - good taste, in a nice wine sauce. - The escargot - delicious, cooked in a nice butter oil sauce. - Foie Gras - Not a big fan of duck fat, but this was good as well. - Scallops - The scallops for this dish was rubbery, but had a nice sauce on top. Overall, great service and delicious food.

This is the French restaurant onsite at Secrets Maroma Beach
read more From start to finish the service here is phenomenal. Our server did the whole "sell you the bottle" trick but backed down when I chuckled at him about the cost of the crap bottles they were selling. After that, it was smooth sailing and a nice time. He did a great job Inside it seems to be "Frenchy", but it does seem like it's a bit of a stretch. There are paintings depicting French scenes, but frankly you could put pics of French fries up and I would not care. The lighting was cool. The apps were great and I loved them all! Very tasty bites indeed. The soufflé looked burnt but was very good when you got into it. Escargot were tasty as well and the French onion soup was amazing! Real butter for the bread and I am in love. Entrees were just ok. C ate very little of hers, but I liked hers way more than mine. I had the Duck and it wasn't the best, but it's a gamble with Duck sometimes I guess. We were so full we did not even look at dessert when the time came. Overall, nice meal and a good time! I'd come back just to eat the appetizers again. '26 - 58
