Amazing experience and show. Perfect for a date night. Service is good and environment is amazing!

The only complaint is the business that housed Le Petit Chef as the power went out no back up for elevators

We came to dine out Le Petit Chef in The Hyatt Regency in San Francisco as a group. The show was the fun part of the dining experience. It's a set five course menu with a show prior to each dish. The dishes were tasty and came in small portions. If you can't finish all they will provide boxes to take home. The Hosts were friendly and attentive. The environment was good for special occasions, families and for kids.

Giving four star but the pricing is a major deterrent. The experience was fun for the family, and we all enjoyed the show and meals. The food was good, the staff was great, and price was not matching either (too much for what it was). Yes it is in the city at a nice hotel, and the setup adds to the meal. No, it was not aligned with the intense bill for two adults and two toddlers. The kids meals were lacking, at a price nearly the same as an adult I would expect seafood in their soup, not just ginger carrot broth. Salad was same for kids, which was a very adult arugula, frisée, and bitter greens. Adults had a nice piece of chicken breast - kids had lightly seasoned noodles. Adults had a small piece of steak (over cooked), kids got half a piece. The soup was good, but hardly any seafood with only 1 shrimp, 1 mussel, 2 pieces of octopus. We ate everything, and enjoyed it. So important to state that, not out to talk poorly but want to explain for expectations (oh, kids did not eat salad or soup broth). I understand large parties having gratuity included, but 20% and other fees for a meal at $200 a person is steep (we had only my wife, two kids and me). This was for my birthday, and I'm very blessed to have my wife plan this for me. The birthday side of the event was a tiny add on dry cupcake that was the same tasting cake as the final dessert. Was not much of an add, which is OK. If you will not think twice about the bill, give it a try. If you're doing it for the best food at a $200 price tag - maybe it is not the right option. Recommend, only as noted above...

We saw some compelling ads for Le Petit Chef online and thought it would be a fun and unique way to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, at $195 per person for the Grand Experience, the whole evening fell very far short of expectations. And looking back, I honestly wish we had chosen somewhere else. While the animated show was creative, the food and its presentation were just mediocre at best. The main concept is that Le Petit Chef "prepares" your meal through a projection show, but most of the actual dishes barely resembled what was animated. Just compare the animated sundae to what was actually served.. Beyond that, the food itself was underwhelming. The chicken was dry, the flavors were nothing special, and the portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price. All in all, the idea behind Le Petit Chef is intriguing, but the execution didn't live up to the hype. This was nowhere near a $200 per person experience. Save your money.

4 stars for experience, 3 stars for the food. I wont spoil the virtual dining experience too much for those looking to come :) Great host, good voice . Staff very friendly. Alright now the food - salad great starter with heirloom tomatoes good dressing - crab bisque: more essence of crab? no actual crab. Portions not consistent, my soup bowl was halfway filled to the line while my bf's was filled to the top - chicken with mai take mushrooms: mushrooms tasted great chicken was dry but the sauce went well with it - aged flannery beef: again portions inconsistent, I got this tiny end piece while my bf got a bigger portion. Peppercorn sauce was incredible with it though. Was cooked medium would have preferred med rare, but they dont ask. - ice cream sundae: browned butter was creamy , small dessert probably better that way Overall a fun experience but for the price I feel like the portions could be bigger. Would I go again? Possibly for a special occasion

Loved the experience and would recommend trying only once if you are able to! Very cute for bringing families or just going with a friend. However the food was not worth it for the price and I don't think the experience was enough itself to justify for me to come back. Our party each chose the classic pre fixe set which was over $165+/person not including tax and tip. Each dish was just okay and portion sizes were small. They all tasted good but nothing outstanding and some tasted like something I could make at home. Especially since the price you are paying is already quite high, I was hoping for a slightly higher quality dish or at least bigger portion sizes. Disappointing it didn't meet my expectations but fortunate to try it at least once as the whole concept was creative.

My husband and I attended a weekday dinner featuring Petit Chef in the Hyatt San Francisco. The ambience felt casual and the crowd was rather small considering it was a weekday evening. The chairs were uncomfortable for a pricey dinner. Prior to each meal was a Le Petit Chef animation which appeared a little blurry to me. There was a magnifying glass on the table, but no instruction from staff as to why it was there. It was amusing to watch, the meals were "petite" and had flavor. But for my liking the dishes were a little too petite for my liking. Was it a good show, yes, but overall for the experience it was good and had room for improvement. Would I come back, maybe not. A solid 3 out 5 stars.

I don't know what to say. For the price ($200pp), the value was truly not there. Every individual dish was poorly cooked and underwhelming, in both preparation and taste. Chicken was dry, the 'crab bisque' strikingly lacked actual seafood (one shrimp, small slivers of octopus), the beef was overcooked (and had no marbling) and tasted nothing like a Wagyu, and the dessert was underwhelming and seemed not recently prepared. Actually, all of the dishes felt like they were reheated from earlier in the night, - we would liken it to airplane food. The staff was nice and the service was good though. The little chef projection experience was fine, nothing special, but was certainly not as advertised. NONE of the dishes matched the image and portions were completely off. I'm so so disappointed that we spent what we did on this experience and meal, and we would not recommend it.

You shouldn't expect particularly delicious food when you attend an experience like this. It's more about the show and the experience than the food. I went with my ten-year-old son, and we definitely enjoyed it. In my opinion, it's worth a one-time visit.

$276 divide 7 course meal = Over $39 for this piece of of chip = RIP OFF!!! Waste of money!

Rip off!! Disappointing! $276 per person = $1,104 for a party of 4 with tax and tips include. If you're going on a date = be ready to fork over $550+ for disappointing portions and mid food. You'll for sure still leave hungry, disappointment, maybe even resentful. Just a bunch of projections from the projectors shining down from the ceiling to your plates to guide out through your meal. READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEFORE COMING HERE!! Yep. One of the courses is just a chip (size of a dorito) with some toppings on top. You'll finish your meal feeling like a sucka.

We could not be happier with the recommendation as the appetizers and entrées were absolutely stunning -- both in flavor and aesthetics! Our biggest difficulty was choosing dishes from his diverse catalog of offerings since they all sounded delicious. He was also very accommodating and made various adjustments to account for particular food allergies that some of our guests had (without compromising on flavor at all). For appetizers, we chose: - Pepper-Crusted Seared Ahi Tuna (Seka Hills EVOO, Sicilian Pesto, Herbs) - Ratatouille Tarts (Puff Pastry, Seka Hills EVOO, Parmigiano Reggiano) - Pistachio Flatbread (Onion, Burrata, Honey, and Chili Oil -- this one was a extra-huge hit with all guests) For dinner, we started with a Local Harvest Salad (Farm Vegetables, Fruit, Vinaigrette, Cheese, and Nuts -- plating was particularly beautiful for the salad), and had three entrée options: - Wagyu New York Steak (Imperial American Wagyu, Roasted Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, Potato Galette, and Red Wine Jus) - Signature Duck (Mary's Crusted Duck Breast, Hind-Quarter Confit, Potato Cake, Charred Vegetables, and Duck Jus) - Roasted Butternut Squash with Cannellini Beans (Charred Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, and Saffron-Rosemary Broth) Throughout our entire wedding and afterwards, guests were telling us how impressed they were and that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! He and his team arrived right on schedule, set up (including silverware and plates) cooked and served outstanding food, provided extremely attentive service, and then cleaned up, leaving the kitchen absolutely spotless (while also deftly navigating a brief power outage!). We cannot recommend Adam Small Cooks highly enough! His food, attention to detail, and service are truly next level. Thank you again for making our wedding so special!

It was clear from early on she was knowledgeable in her trade and had great questions and tools to help guide us along. We wanted to do an Italian dinner for my dad's 70th birthday, and Italian showed up as one of Sweet Melissa's specialities when searching on Yelp-score! She provided me a sample menu with many delicious sounding options, but also was willing to customize to my dad's favorites. I host parties a lot and you sometimes don't really get to enjoy the event as you are working to get everything ready for your guests. Hiring Melissa allowed us to just enjoy the celebration. All we had to do was clear some space for her to work and she did the rest. She arrived about an hour and a half before the event to do her prep. She was as lovely as could be as was her assistant. The food courses were nicely timed with our three appetizers of brie and pear crostini, shrimp scampi bites, and caprese skewers ready as guests arrived and socialized. All three were delicious, but glad I listened to her recommendation on the crostini as it was so good. Everyone commented on how amazing the house smelled as they arrived. It was also fun watching her work in your house and getting freshly made food! Next was the big buffet of Caesar salad, pesto and tomato basil sauces pastas, roasted brussel sprouts with pancetta, chicken parmigiana, and Italian sausages in a balsamic reduction. The spread was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. There was plenty of food for all and I got such amazing feedback from our guests on how everything tasted. I would normally not of picked the Italian sausage in onions, roasted grapes, and balsamic wine reduction but Melissa told me it was one of her favorites dishes, and I think it turned out to be mine! So unique, so tasty and well executed. I had never had Italian sausages like that before, but hope to again. I honestly could say amazing things about everything we had. Melissa did not misrepresent herself in saying Italian is her specialty. My dad was SO happy and felt this evening was so special. Goal achieved! After the meal, she cleaned up so well you honestly would of never known she was there. This also included her boxing up any leftovers for us, which was a nice touch. Not having a big clean up to do after hosting the event was also amazing. I wish I could have a private chef everyday! But I highly suggest doing this at least for a special occasion and recommend doing it with Melissa. From looking at her website, she does all kinds of other cuisines that also sound delicious. She helped create the special, personalized, and delicious evening we were looking for!

We wanted to do something special for a milestone birthday party for our dad, and he just absolutely loves Italian food, particularly chicken parmigiana. We shopped around for anything from catering to personal chefs specializing in Italian food, and decided a private dinner made fresh in house was just the ticket. Melissa was very responsive via email, and indicated that Italian is one of her specialties. She worked with us to create a menu Dad would love, blending her own suggestions with a couple of special requests from us. On the day, Melissa and her staff arrived on time and got right to work preparing everything in our kitchen with a little help from her own tools. Throughout the event, she kept the space clean, the food line filled, and even did some bussing at the dinner table. She was exceptionally personable with us and the guests, and when she left, there was absolutely zero work for us to do. She cleaned everything, packed up all leftovers and stocked our fridge, and took out all trash. As far as the taste of the food, absolutely no complaints on this end! We had appetizers of shrimp scampi and caprese skewers while everyone arrived, and then flowed into a buffet style dinner. We opted for a ready-dressed Caesar salad, and her homemade dressing was spot on. For dinner, the highlight for dad was the chicken parm. Everyone had a wonderfully breaded chicken cutlet, adorned with fresh mozzarella and topped with a very tasty marinara. This along with her delicious take on Italian sausage in a reduced wine, grape, and balsamic sauce were amazing proteins. Pasta was plentiful as an accompaniment, both a fusilli pesto and papardelle noodles in marinara. For some veggies, she did a wonderful roast brussel sprouts with pancetta and balsamic. We had cake and ice cream for dessert, but I have no doubt if we'd asked her to do that, it would have been amazing too. All in all, I absolutely recommend using Sweet Melissa's for your personal chef and catering needs, you can rest assured you're making the right decision!

Chef ken was also very helpful in helping us pick out the dish wear and arranged all of the rental dishware which made the process easy. The only problems we had with Chef Ken was that he can often be non-responsive and difficult to get in touch with through email. He's definitely busy and has multiple private events going on but at times we had to really hunt him down. It was difficult also because his secretary went on vacation around the time of the wedding so I think he was managing everything on his own. Also, I would also get everything written in bullet points for Chef Ken as he's definitely busy and it's easy for him to forget things we agreed on such as quantity of amount of certain dishes, rental numbers, types of food we ordered, deduction of the initial taste testing, etc. Small things but it changes the overall invoice and required a bunch of redoing of the invoices. He also said he would help us come up with a custom drink menu for our wedding which we ended up scrambling at the end to make our own menu. Again, I think there was just too much for Chef Ken to do on his own without extra help. Overall though, the wedding day went extremely smoothly with no issues. The staff he hired was solid and exceptional. The bartenders were awesome and fun. The food including the entrees, dessert and appetizers were amazing and it was unanimous from the guests that the food at our wedding was by far the best from any other wedding they've been to. Highlights was everyone loves the Miso Chilean Sea bass, Korean Street Tacos, Poke Tacos and the Tomahawk steak. My personal favorite was the Garlic Noodles!

If you really have no idea what to have made, you can pay to have a more in-depth consultation where they craft custom meal plans for you. Although these services are ideal for meal prep for a busy week, we had Chef Stephen cook for a small dinner party of 4 and it was a hit (we also had a weekend full of leftovers which was perfect). We requested Thai food (pad kee mao aka drunken noodles with chicken, pad kra pao aka Thai basil eggplant with ground pork, and som tam aka papaya salad) and he delivered! The recipes weren't followed 100% but it was all good and the result was for some very tasty food. What was great was that the hot dishes reheated nicely too (my husband thought they even tasted better the second day)! Finally, we appreciated how clean Chef Stephen was and that all used dishes and utensils were placed neatly in the dishwasher. All and all, I would say this is a really great and efficient service, especially for folks with diet restrictions and/or who want to eat more healthily but who also want more control in terms of what they eat (hence my hesitation about subscribing to food delivery services as what if the flavors that week don't match my cravings?!). I tried to post a longer review but Yelp doesn't seem to let me do it. In summary, if you have a special event coming up DO NOT consider this caterer for your event. They will show up over 2.5 hours late, with no explanation as to why they are late, be completely unprepared despite regular communication leading up to the event (missing utensils, an extra table they said they are bringing etc...) They will not apologize for nearly ruining your event (unless you ask them directly why did you not apologize?) and then expect that they should be paid in full. They will claim it's for the "ingredients" for their food and the "custom labeling" of food which is just a Sharpie marking on the tin covers (see photo).... Their food is nothing to write home about, their service atrocious and their professionalism is somehow even worse than atrocious. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me and I will be more than happy to give you the details of their behavior at my event, which was a brunch for my baby shower and birthday celebration. I initially DM'd the business as I didn't want to have to leave a 1 star review but given their response to their issues I do think it's necessary for customers to know what they are getting with this business; they gave a paltry amount 10% refund of the total we paid for what they did (or rather didn't do) and still didn't explain why they were so late! When I complained they said "oh we'll be happy to give you 20% off for your next event!" Pretty audacious to assume that I would ever hire them again! Maybe this is a radical thought but I do think that caterers should actually show up to events so guests can actually eat the food. That is a significant part of what you are paying for as a customer, a service. Clearly they do not consider this to be the case at all! So why exactly would I hire them again? Overall do yourself a favor and look for another caterer. I hate to put out such bad vibes so I will end by saying that my event was salvaged by my wonderful friends and family who worried about my stress over this caterer, still claimed they had a lot of fun and it was also saved by vendors who did show up on time and provided lovely entertainment for our guests who had to go hungry for almost 3 hours. I hope this review helps someone; please look for a different caterer and save yourself!
