The fourth star is for being an all-day service kitchen, rare in this part of France, serving meals from 11am-10:30pm. You can stop by here anytime after or before a tour of the magnificent coliseum which is parallel to the pedestrian zone where this restaurant is found. The restaurant right next door, the pizzeria l'avenue, is owned by the same two brothers but has been around much longer and takes a break between 3pm and 6pm. I had a lunch pre-fixe, a three course meal which included a Zander filet better known as pikeperch perhaps. Tasty white fish was served with a side of rice, zesty salsa and fresh grilled veggies. Then two of us had the standard burger with fries. Here the waitstaff showed great patience taking the orders: hold the onions for one, hold the pickles for the other, and so on. And when one arrived without the cheese we had ordered, it was sent back right away and corrected. The fourth member of our party ordered the goat cheese salad, a fresh and well-presented dish. The highlight was the dessert with espresso which came with the pre-fixe. I have a picture of it here, I loved the three-portion plate. Lovely! Great service plus great presentation for famished tourists on a hot day in Nîmes makes this a great place for a snack or more filling meal. read more
