This charming spot has a very tiny kitchen and flimsy tables and chairs outside right next to the Forum. Some tables have umbrella coverage. Our waiter was very nice and spoke English too. They take credit cards including Amex. The tomato salad was large and fresh with plenty of herbs and included prosciutto and cheeses. I had a cheese, ham, and vegetable sandwich on the most delicious baguette of my visit to France. It was 38 euros for a salad, sandwich, and 2 drinks. At some of the other restaurants, that's about the price for one lunch.

In France, I always hope for fresh, simple, but excellent food - bread, wine, and cheese - and this was everything I was looking for! We had the melon and prosciutto plate and the cheese plate, with bread of course, as well as a couple glasses of wine. The owner recommended a great white wine as well as a rosé (it was a hot evening, so the chilled whites and rosés hit the spot). They were delicious. As an added bonus, the location is fantastic! It's right next to the Roman arena - very cool view while eating. As a final pleasant surprise, the bill was far less than we were expecting for the quality of the wine. This place has great quality for a great value, the owner was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend!

Maybe if you're are a skinny French girl who only eats a salad for dinner, then this place is for you. The food here is good, but I can hardly imagine wanting to eat this stuff in general.
