He deduced that the particular line of helmet I purchased couldn't be manufactured correctly in the size I ordered, which ended up helping out everyone involved. I admire their enormous Christmas cactus on a regular basis. It's a beaut.

The diner is open for breakfast & lunch- the lunch is good and has hot and cold sandwich options, but their breakfast is my favorite. Biscuits, pancakes, eggs...all the good stuff. There are definitely regulars, and it seems like the staff and customers are all old friends- probably because they are. Wheelers may seem kind of simple and unassuming; but it's great- definitely a kind of business that you don't come by often, and I'm glad to have it in the Lexington community.

It was such a delight to walk through these doors. This location is clean, spacious, and pleasing to walk around. World Market offers tiny shopping carts with seats for kids which was the perfect size for browsing with my toddler. And since it was around opening day, there were many people available to help me. I swooned over the macrame plant holders, the woven rugs and baskets, the international foods & treats, the simple and affordable kitchenware, coffee mugs, candles, the Christmas decor (unlike anywhere else), the nostalgic toys, the throw pillows, the quirky gifts, and more. It's kind of an eclectic store -- with a mix of international and fun. When it comes to gifts, you can probably find something for everyone here. They also have dining tables, chairs, couches, lamps, and other such furniture and decor for homes. Think mid-century modern. These are all a bit on the pricier side. (Not everything is in store - you can look online and get a better idea of these offerings.) If my entire home could be decorated with World Market, that would be amazing. We left with about $60 worth of gifts, marzipan, ornaments, and other trinkets for the holidays. I wasn't even planning to spend any money. Oops. Green Tree is an antique shop and tea room in a historic district of Lexington that offers a noon luncheon Wednesday through Saturday. On the day we visited, they were packed with parties of all sizes from duos to a group of 13. Everyone has the same menu which changes each month and is published on their website. The tables were covered in crisp linens and accented with fresh flowers and pretty flatware and dishes. For $19.95, you get a soup, a homemade scone, a specialty entree (petite portion), finger sandwiches, and sweets. And, there's a seasonal, hot tea. May's menu started with a delicious, cold strawberry soup. It was like strawberries and cream in a bowl. Next was a fresh from the oven, cream scone with lemon curd and Lafayette cream. I had high expectations for the asparagus crepe with moray sauce after thirst two dishes. Sadly, the crepe contained room temperature rice and veg. The moray was excellent but the entree would have been better warm. The finger sandwiches served in a buffet included shrimp toast, cucumber rounds, and egg salad sandwiches. All were delicious. The desserts - dark chocolate mousse, strawberry wafer cookies, and mini coconut cupcakes were a terrific finale.
