I'm not a bike person. From a food perspective, I didn't have the best service experience, having ordered in advance and getting there to some confusion as they didn't seem aware of my order. Then it seemed like they left it lying around a while before actually telling me it was ready. Other customers had similar struggles. I tend not to focus that much on service because it varies person to person, but it wasn't ideal. I was happy for the option for a vegan breakfast burrito, which had tofu, avocado, and potatoes, but for the price I wasn't impressed. My potatoes were likewise fine, but I wasn't sold that either was worth the cost or the wait. The chai latte I really came for had a peppery kick and wasn't sweet at all, which may be a good or a bad thing depending on one's perspective. I could imagine them doing better, and particularly I wonder if it's better to eat in person. read more

Great for cyclists, or a community event... Decent coffee but really good food. It's not my first choice of coffee shop in lexington, but with a group or if you're in that area, I highly recommend stopping in for lunch. The coffee was so so. Picked up some breakfast sandwiches, coffee and smoothies before we hit the road and this place was delicious! The sourdough bread they use is scrumptious and was crisped to perfection. The hot to trot vegan bean patty sandwich was pretty dang spicy and I like it hot! The Green Vaccine matcha smoothie I had was different but definitely tasty. I've never had anything quite like it but definitely felt very healthy. Only bummer was they were out of non-dairy milk for the coffees and smoothies. Service was super friendly though both in the cafe and when I wandered into the bike shop. Definitely in a cool neck of the woods where hipsters can hang out and get some good veggie/vegan opts. read more

I've been here a few times for both breakfast and brunch. I love the outdoor seating area on a nice day and food here is great! The vegan BLT was a first for me but I loved it! The "bacon" is smoky marinated carrots and the sourdough bread with salad really elevated my meal. They have really reasonable prices and great atmosphere for hanging out or catching up with friends. The only reason I'm taking a star off is the service. While the workers are very friendly and helpful, expect to wait a bit for your food. Additionally, when I came for breakfast, my boyfriend ordered a very carnivorous burrito while mine was vegetarian. When they brought out the food, the staff mixed up the two. Luckily, he took a bite first and realized the "bacon, sausage and chorizo" burrito was mine-- with avocado and tomatoes. If I had taken the bite first, I would have been much more upset. read more

I feel like many people don't realize that Broomwagon has a little cafe in addition to their bike shop (even though they call out coffee in their name). I've found it to be a neat little spot for lunch, or a quick stop for coffee. Their menu is very vegetarian friendly if that's your thing and you can enjoy your lunch either inside (in non covid-times) or in their outdoor courtyard. Aside from their small parking lot there is plenty of street parking so I've never had a problem finding a spot. I did find it odd that, while they are a coffee shop, they don't open until 9am which means I'm unable to stop by on work days. read more

We contacted Broomwagon and Bikes who in addition to a brick and mortar store, have a mobile van, fully equipped to service and/or repair our Schwinn 6 speed bike before passing along to granddaughter. We scheduled the time on their website and they followed up with questions about the bike. They arrived on time, were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. This was a DoorDash delivery during COVID 19. I ordered the breakfast wrap, made with fried eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella. I added bacon, which added a savory component. I also added grilled onions, but I couldn't taste them. The wrap was grilled well and had plenty of cheese. It was pretty tasty. You can add a multitude of veggies, cheeses, jams, and other toppings. I also got the Puerto Rican beans a la cafe, which is vegan and has beans, potatoes, onions, and "secret spices." Toward the end of the beans, I got a little bit of a kick, but the spice seemed a little uneven, as it was bland before the end. This could also be due to the dish having to be transported for delivery. I ordered chips and salsa too. The chips are locally produced. The salsa has a lot of flavor, is fresh, and produced in-house, but it's not typical. It was very chunky and tasty, but also had a citrus or fruit taste to it. It was good; just don't expect regular salsa. This restaurant has a lot of breakfast fare, coffees, smoothies, and vegetarian and vegan dishes. I would try this place again. read more

This bike shop has a firm place in this family's heart. We've been back in Lexington for a little over one year now and have had nothing but fabulous service from Broomwagon for our bikes and jogging stroller over three visits. Each time, we're met with kindness, joy, and professionalism. No issue is too small (tire valves on the stroller) or too dirty (completely rehabbing and repairing bikes long neglected in a barn). And we're so grateful for their mobile service! The prices are totally reasonable. It's the best bike shop I've encountered. And, the sandwiches and coffee next door are yum-yum! read more

I came here when it first opened and wow! It gets busy with college students! I like that it's both a bike shop and coffee shop. They now have a beer garden. I had iced coffee which was pretty strong (at the time). Outside, my friends and I took pictures by a mural. It had origami birds all over it. Can't wait to come back again sometime! read more

The employee was very nice and informative and we really like the option they sell, the Kona bike is definitely one we will be considering. What an incredible, unusual, and eclectic place to visit. The interior was nicely decorated with large windows to see the beautiful garden. I ordered a small mocha latte and a breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was by far the best I have ever had. You could just taste the freshness of the egg, cheese, and tortilla shell. I loved this event because I'm always trying to find a new spot to check out and this was one on my list. Glad to have experienced the wonderful hospitality of the staff and explore both sides of the cafe and store. The food selection is very elegant and tasteful, not a lot of meat options but that's okay, as the fact that they serve coffee and alcoholic beverages make up for that. Besides, their salads and sandwiches were super delicious along with the bumble buzz coffee, which was very yummy. I'd highly recommend trying this drink. So glad this month's Yelp event was held at Broomwagon this evening- otherwise I may never have discovered this unique establishment! Both a bike shop & restaurant, this place is truly one of a kind. The food was distinctive & tasty. Definitely recommend the chickpea cilantro salad and veggie wrap! The kale salad was fresh and not bitter in the slightest (truly a feat), and the grilled cheese on sourdough had a hint of lemon and basil to it- which sounds odd but was delicious. Looked around store little, went around to cafe window ordered Third Eye coffee, and 2 egg breakfast wrap. Came with salsa, peppers slices, and and awesome maybe habanero sauce. I have to say, I had never been in here before. I don't exactly ride a bike (I know how, I just don't have one) or exercise (yeah, I got no excuse for this one) so I never really had a good excuse to some in here. There is a stunning amount of decor and art around the place. First, there is the bike shop. You can buy a buy, test ride a bike, have your bike fixed air up your bike...you get the idea. Then there is the little cafe area. The menu is filled with coffee, teas, milkshakes, beer and smoothies. I would have thought the place was a vegetarian cafe except they seem to offer a BLT, because even vegetarians love bacon ;) They offered us some snacks that I probably should be eating like a refreshing chickpea salad, pickled squash, and kale salad. I say should be ya know because of the lack of exercise, but I am also the same person with a bacon tattoo. The grilled cheese was interesting. It has a citrus twist to it. I have friends that this is going to be a perfect place for them to chill, tinker on their bikes, have a cup of tea, maybe a pint (or two) and listen to music in the side yard. This is probably a great place to chill during the night market. The prices aren't over inflated and you can still people watch. I want to thank Tiffany (and the crew at Broom Wagon) for hosting us and sharing their dreams about their bikeshop/cafe. It's great to see so many coffee shops around downtown lex. I really enjoy anything that isn't Starbucks (admittedly love Starbucks too!) for something different. I just got a brewed coffee at Broomwagon but they have lots of other options plus some food items too. I think it's neat they are a bike shop/coffee house all in one. Ordered delivery from here but unfortunately the food that arrived was pretty inedible. My husband had the breakfast burrito that was covered in cilantro and tasted mainly of salt. My vegan breakfast bowl was not as advertised - unseasoned and hard potatoes topped with massive chunks of salty carrots and rubbery tofu. No black beans, sweet potato mix, zhoug or avocado was included. Really poor. The smoothies were fine. Don't do delivery online if you are not going to uphold your standards. I brought my mother here while we were in town since she is a huge cyclist. Half of the space is a bike shop and the other half is the coffee shop. She ordered a coffee and grabbed a bottle of locally brewed kombucha from the fridge, I ordered the bumble buzz latte (latte with bourbon honey, HIGHLY RECOMMEND), and then a cauliflower quesadilla to split. While we waited for our order she happily looked around the bike shop and found a few things. The food was great and the beverages were amazing! My review is based on my experience with the bicycle shop rather than the coffee shop. If you're looking for a decently priced, well stocked bicycle shop, don't come here. Everything from the tires and tubes to the tools are all heavily marked up. I spent ~$350 for one gatorskin tire, portable pump, and to have my bicycle packaged and shipped. I spoke to one of the workers and he encouraged me to bring in a bicycle box, since they were low. When the day came to ship my bicycle, a different worker said they had plenty of boxes. They never took down my email address, so I did not receive a tracking number. Thankfully, I received it with minimal issue. For some reason, they placed my handle bar cockpit through the spokes of my back tire and it was fairly difficult to remove while trying not to damage the bicycle. The only positive thing is they accept the UK Bicycle Program vouchers. Overall, my whole experience was not great. I would advise going somewhere else in town for your bicycle needs like Bicycle Face right down the street as a more affordable option with better service. Although, their bourbon ball Latte was phenomenal during coffee week! read more

There is just so much to love about this place and not enough space to list it all. When you mix a bikeshop and a coffeeshop, you get Broomwagon! The bike shop is small but don't let that keep you away from talking to the staff. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and fun!!!! They carry some unique bikes and I have already fallen in love with one. If only I still lived in Lexington to go back to buy that beauty!!!! Anyway, back to the review...once you spend some time at the bike side, walk to their café side. It's small but they serve quite a variety of drinks and foods. Smoothies, juices, coffee, tea, and BEER!!! Yes, they serve local beer!!! Let's not forget the sandwiches, soups, side salads.. All made in house.. All very fresh.. and all so delicious! Coffee is good and locally roasted! The latte with bourbon maple syrup warms you inside and out with a touch of sweetness! They make their own chai tea, which is so different than the commercially available concentrates many shops use. My friends like the smoothies here! The BLT sandwich is a killer with perfectly crunchy bacon and lots of flavor! Both the corn and the clam chowder were delicate and satisfying. Many of the accessories from light fixtures to toilet paper holders are bike related..And the most important part is that the staff is pretty AMAZING!
