3.5 stars! A little cafe located in a hidden alley, Le Grain…read morede Sable is an oasis featuring organic, local, homemade vegetarian dishes with an ever-changing menu based on seasonal produce. Though expensive, it makes for.a great light lunch option, and both the restaurant space and servers are warm and inviting. On our visit, we tried all five dishes from the main menu. The cold soup of carrots with ginger/cumin and coconut milk was thick and refreshing, and the coddled egg with butternut cream was hearty and went well with the basket of bread. We also had the piping hot zucchini gratin with egg/garlic/sage; a simple herbal farro salad with tomatoes, green beans, and cucumber; and a bruschetta with a "tchoutchouka" topping of cooked onions, peppers, and tomatoes! Every dish here was freshly prepared and reflected local, seasonal produce, though I thought the seasoning could have been more refined. This is definitely one of the healthiest, earth-friendliest restaurants around that you'll find!

We went here strictly based on the yelp reviews and, I must say, I was delighted. This place has…read morebeen under new ownership since July but the new owners have decided to continue the concept of a vegetarian restaurant. This place is located in a lane way and not something you can find as you walk along. It's a gorgeous cafe with basic interiors and a glass wall to the kitchen so you can see the chef in action. There are about 20-25 seats in the inside on two levels and some seats outside. The staff here really made it for me. Extremely friendly, helpful and whilst their English was not great were willing to try and help us. The chef spoke ok English and explained the menu to us. Service here gets top marks for friendliness :-)) They have a daily menu and you can pick 2 or 3 choices of courses. We picked two and it comes altogether in a plate. I had a lovely zucchini cold soup and a fabulous quinoa dish. The flavours were good and I loved it. For dessert they recommended a local speciality which is a fromage blanc (fresh cheese) with a fruit compote and I loved it. Slightly unusual start but a fantastic finish with the intense fruit compote. Being a vegetarian in France is always hard as the choices are very limited. This is an exception and it tastes great. I would happily come back here for a meal and enjoy the delicious vegetarian feed. A great find in Marseille :-))

This is the best restaurant in Cassis…read more There I said it. Not only will you find the best vegan and vegetarian meals here, you will find some of the best seafood in all of Provence!* During our four nights in Cassis, we ate dinner here four times. It was that good. First off, the menu is humongous, the wine list is endless, and the hosts are the best. The environment is great too as each one of the different areas gives you a different experience. Inside you'll have the AC, but lack of people watching, on the right side you'll be in a more secluded spot in a more narrow street. On the other side, you'll have plenty of people to watch, and cats to pet as they roam in front of their owners house. Anyway, the food was a blast. Having authentic mediterranean/lebanese food was fantastic. The hummus was beyond delicious. If my wife would let me, I would have licked the bowl clean. They also had home made baklava, which was succulent. The wines were mostly from the Cassis region, and paired well with my vegan meal and my wife's pascatarian dishes. On top of it, they had fruit rums (four kinds!!) that the hosts would give out during the desert. Bottomless and delicious, these drinks sealed the night with the aforementioned baklava. I wish every city in Provence had as amazing food as D'une Rive a l'autre had! *A claim by my wife. I cannot confirm this statement with my own taste buds.

The food was so amazing and so refined! The waitress was so nice and attentive (not always the case in France!) We were just visiting Cassis--but, if I lived there-I would definitely be a regular there!
