My wife had overpriced braised beef cheeks that you could get in the states called pot roast for $5-8.00 and just as good? But the Quenelle de Brochet was awful ! First the dumplings were freezer burned and all dried out,they developed a tough skin on top and were pretty disgusting. Then the chef? For what ever reason decided to put watery lobster/ shrimp broth over them to bake and puff. Too bad because the broth in itself had excellent flavor, but you have to thicken and cream this sauce so it adheres to the mousse.This chef's version is a $38 chf Disaster.I'm very disappointed and recommend sending the Chef back to cooking school.

The staff was great across the board, and the concierge was especially helpful--assisting with booking local attractions and providing excellent recommendations. The hotel offers three restaurants. The main-level restaurant is open most of the day with the longest hours, serving pastries, teas, snacks, and desserts throughout the day. There's also a breakfast restaurant that converts to dinner service and holds a Michelin star, which is extremely rare to find in a hotel. Unfortunately, when we had a reservation there in the evening, several menu items were unavailable, so we decided not to dine there. We did eat at the rooftop restaurant on the seventh floor, and it was absolutely incredible--amazing food, great service, and an overall fantastic experience. The hotel also has a great pool, spa, and gym. The spa offerings were excellent, and I booked a facial and massage that was absolutely incredible--it made for a very relaxing day and was a highlight of the stay. The room itself was excellent with an amazing view, heated bathroom floors, and all the amenities you could need. Room service and in-room dining options were also very solid. Overall, this was a great stay from start to finish and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Lausanne or Switzerland in general.

We did have to call down to the front desk a couple times because housekeeping did not replace items in the room, but the front desk was very nice and responsive. Our room was in the back of the hotel on the first floor, so we didn't have a view but I'm guessing there are some great ones available since the hotel is right on the lake. We weren't planning on spending much time in our room, so it wasn't that important to us. I think hands down my favorite thing about this hotel was definitely the breakfast buffet. There is a great selection of hot dishes, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, meat, cheese, fish, and even salad to chose from. They will also cook you eggs/omelets if you ask. The staff at the buffet was super helpful and kept everything well-stocked even when things were busy. This was definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts I have encountered. One small note on the rooms if you're planning to travel with someone you don't know that well....the doors in the bathroom are glass. There is a divider so you can work around it, but it could still be a little awkward with a coworker or something along those lines.

It's also some additional steep steps away from downtown. Great for exercising, especially if you've been eating too much of the delicious pastries and chocolate you'll find all over town! :) The place has been around for a while but management has kept the hotel in a good overall condition. The rooms are modern and quite spacious for European standards. The staff is polite but I wouldn't say they're exceptional. They do their job and that's fine by me. There are a couple of restaurants in the premises but I didn't bother trying them as I think they're over priced and I'm not interested in the menu options. There are too many great restaurants nearby, too many nice bakeries, for me to be bothered with the options here. If anything, the restaurants look nice and seem to be busy most of the time. The rooms have free wi-fi, safe, cable, toiletries, a nice bathroom and some tea, coffee and hot chocolate alongside an electric cattle. For the affordable rates, great location and good rooms, I think this is one of the best places to stay in Lausanne. Definitely recommended!

I slept with the A/C on which worked great (I could've slept with the window open which would have been nice too). I ate dinner in the Thai restaurant in the hotel. I had one of the Blackboard dishes which was more of the local fare, I had the Green Salad with hot Salmon and it was delicious. The breakfast in the hotel was great, lots to choose from and the croissants were outstanding.
