Looking for a quick bit or a beer? We stopped in on the way back to our B&B from the Normandy Battlefield Museum. Place was bustling so we gave it a shot. First: order the appetizer plate for two, it was loaded w cheese, Salami, Spec, Bread etc. I had the omelette w bacon for dinner. That too was excellent . The burgers looked awesome at the table next to us with tons of fries. The owners were on site and made sure everything was going well for you. Check it out, you will be pleased. Please be aware of you are hoping for food here there is none. Pictures and old reviews would lead you to believe otherwise Someone posted previously that there is a menu later in the evening and maybe this is true. We got there right when the guy was opening at 5:30 and he said there is no food so I wouldn't count on it. Wine was good though! read more

I love this place. We are sitting here right now, finishing our beers. we found this place on yelp and decided to check it out. well worth it. The waitress was at our table right away, very friendly and happy to take our order. I got the ham and cheese with fries, it was excellent, best I've had in normandy. beer are cold. atmosphere is awesome, we are seated at a small table but the window so we can watch people walk by. prices are better than reasonable. do not miss this place whole visiting normandy. We stumbled across this bar on our way to the tapestry and ended up coming three nights in a row. Very very nice English speaking staff, great atmosphere, good food and drinks! We had the toastie (basically a grilled ham and cheese) and their "plateau duo" basically a huge cheese and meat board. Nice outdoor seating too. Highly recommend! read more

This was right outside the Bayeux Tapestry museum!! So since I was on a tour we had to eat here because time constraints. tomato soup and fish and chips was... very yummy! it was my first time eating fish and chips and i enjoyed it!!!!! lots of vinegar because i am filipino!!!!!!! i hate french food... so this was the best (lunch) i had while in france. why does french food only taste like fats and stuff? very gross... so strange. wow read more

We arrived in Bayeux after a long day flying, touring and driving around France. Wanted a great meal at a reasonable price. Found it at Le Conquerant. Loved the fish and chips and a bottle of Le Conquerant Blonde. Friendly service and their willingness to throw together a plate of pasta for our daughter who wasn't feeling well back at the hotel was very much appreciated. This is a definite place to go to while in Bayeux! The owners are Irish and French and are the nicest people in town! It is more of a local hang out than a tourist place, so I got to know a couple of the locals who even took me to other places when Le Conquerant shut down! They speak English there, which was nice since I don't really know that much French! They have a smaller selection on their menu, so you might want to get dinner somewhere else, but their menu is great after you've had a couple of drinks! The atmosphere is great! There is inside and outside seating. I chose to sit at the bar and talk to the locals, who were brilliant! This is a must when going to Bayeux! read more

What a lovely place to have lunch! The wait staff here is what really makes this place special. I was with a huge group, about 8 girls, and were seated immediately with no issue. The waitress spoke English with us, and when there was a term she did not understand, she was able to call another waitress who was able to help us. The food was prompt to arrive, delicious, and very inexpensive. Highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area! read more

Nothing special at all. For beer / wine, it might be a decent spot to pop in, but if you're looking for anything more than a quick lunch bite, this isn't the place for you. Cheap prices relatively speaking and service was decent. Only options on the menu were toasties (grilled cheeses), hamburgers, fish and chips and omelettes. read more

We had the best time here! The first night four of us went in for dinner after a long day of driving. It was the perfect end to the day. Every thing we ordered was tasty and the beer was very nice. While staying in Bayeux in March 2016, we spent two entertaining evenings at Le Conquérant. It's a gathering spot for Anglophones passing through Bayeux. Its friendly staff are a mix of French and Irish. On our first evening, we chatted with a high-spirited stag do (i.e. bachelor party) from England. On our second evening, we discussed politics with three gents from Dublin. After closing time, the owner brought out a bottle of his home-made Calvados liqueur, serving shots to us and the Dubliners. For a pub experience, it doesn't get much better than that. read more
