The atmosphere, service and food were great. If you're in town...it's worth going to. Affordable prices and you'll be glad you went. The fresh scallops and squash bisque were delicious and fresh. Would definitely come back.

Welcoming atmosphere that featured live Blues players on a Friday night, we were delighted by our dinner at Le Volet Qui Penche. Friends of ours recommended the restaurant to us and while it looks like just a wine bar, it also has some fantastic dishes for dinner. The daily special is a 30E prix fixe including an entree, plate and dessert. Our entree was a sweet and savory salad of melon drizzled with pesto and the main dish was a roasted lamb and risotto combo. We had ice cream for dessert (chocolate for spouse, vanilla with rum infused raisins for myself). Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I went to Bayeux with the plan on going to a particular restaurant we found on yelp but it was closed so we wandered around looking for another place for dinner. We stumbled on Le Volet Qui Penche. We didn't have reservations (recommend them) but we got lucky to have gotten there right when they opened and they had a table available. It is a cozy place with a small number of tables. The host was gracious and accommodating. I have to say this was one of the best meals we have had in France. The wine was excellent, the charcuterie was out of this world. For the main course I had the cod dish and my husband had the guinea fowl (it was a rolled filet with a mushroom filling). Both were cooked to perfection. The icing on the cake so to speak was the dessert...made from scratch chocolate lava cake with a white coffee ice cream...it was to die for. I think the menu may change periodically based on what's fresh and in season but I don't doubt what ever they make will be delicious. Highly recommend.

We had the most memorable dinner (and singing and dancing!!!) on 24Aug2017 at this fabulous restaurant. The owners and all the guests joined in with the terrific band for a night we will always remember! Great food, great drinks, great music and fantastic hosts. Oh what a night!!! Thank you!!!

We discovered le violet when looking to but a bottle of wine to take back to our Airbnb. Piere was so helpful that we bought six bottles. We came back the next night for dinner. My husband had the menu of the day. Appetizer - smoked salmon: ( he also had the oysters) dinner - roasted pork with mushroom risotto: dessert- lemon cheesecake with apricot sauce. The pork was amazing and the cheesecake light and flavorful. I had the French onion soup and a cheese board. The reason: I concentrated on the wine!

This is a must if and when you visit Bayeux! Menu changes daily. Great Find! Great wine selection.

After an amazing dinner at this wonderful find we just had to take a pic of our new found friend. We will definitely be back.

I would go here for the snails and wine but not for dinner. We had fish and chips and the fish was overcooked and chips were not great.

But all bottles are vertical, so we suspect that there is a very strong rotation. We are not here to keep but to turn. The written (therefore permanent) selection of wines is quite short and balanced. Then there are many interesting wines. In terms of dishes, many plates that don't require to much preparation work. Their real interest lies in a good selection of base elements, qualitative. Only the half saucisson with truffle does not have much interest even if I have no doubt that it pleases many customers. The crostino with gratin is nice and generous. Same thing for the duck burger, with quality elements. But hey, it's just a burger ... Only ravioli truffle and foie gras are really a kitchen a little worked. The whole is honest, the escalope of foie gras well cooked. I will not swear that the ravioli are homemade but they are of good quality. The cube parsnips that accompany the dish are seasonal. Bravo. But it is a very sweet vegetable. With the fat of the liver, this makes a too similar assemblage. Even if the added chives in order to clarify all this, I will choose rather a vegetable a little more typed. I always thought that adding sugar to fat is too much. That's why I never take sweet wines on foie gras, Monbazillac (without T!) or Sauternes. Sympathetic dessert: a fruit compote in red wine with several spices. Lemon ice cream and cactus (anecdotal!) just balance the massive dose of sugar. Only regret, a star anise in the verrine. When you bite into it, the rest of the dessert is dead. The answer from the waitress and the chef: "It never happened, the customers never complained", is not one. What is a bit (choose from the list according to your mood) fun, hilarious, disconcerting, despairing is the incredible series of rave reviews on some website. Between (I quote): excellent, PERFECT, a delicacy, a must, succulent ... (I stop the litany), we do not know where to turn. To conclude, it's a nice address as there are many. Its main interests lie in a selection of quality products, generous starters and a good selection of wines. It's a nice place, cozy. Check a bit high of 10% but we are in Trouville. As for the service, it is friendly unlike some comments read. But it is true that it was winter so quieter. I have no doubt that in summer, the two waitresses must be a little more "hard". Normal. There are many more people and there is a certain type of customers in Deauville / Trouville who must know how to watch so as not to see a service go into a spin.
