    Dessert!

This is a good restaurant with great service. My husband ordered the Chicken and rice and it was good, needed a little salt but otherwise good. I had a hamburger that was a little undercooked for me, but my bad for not telling them well done or for sending it back. My dessert was divine! The restaurant is crowded with groups of Americans touring Normandy. That was a nice treat for us to visit with them.

This was the absolute most vile restaurant I've ever experienced in all of Europe. I would classify this as a disgrace to French food but really it's a disgrace to food, full stop. We ordered pizza with Burrata on it and the Burrata was turned. Like sour and would make a person sick. I notified our server and another woman came over to yell at me that "six other people ordered it". Okay fine, but it's still turned. My brother ordered steak that might as well have been tartare it was so rare. He wouldn't even comment because of how rude the woman was. Nobody finished their plates as the rest of the food was absolutely disgusting. The onion soup and the bolognese was wet and soggy and tasteless. My husband called it "worse than cafeteria food". The table behind us said that "the chicken was a cold piece of chicken with some sauce on it". Skip this total disaster.

This bistro is so cute!!! I love this place... The food is good, the location is good, the wait staff is good.....All the guests here are friendly......We will eat here tomorrow night as well!

La Fringale is a small but cute family-owned bistro-like restaurant. Food was well prepared and very good. The escargot was served without their shells but similar to what you would find normally in the U.S. The foie gras pate was deliciously rich and tasty. The duck breast was very tender and the fries were cooked well. The creme brulee for dessert was a wonderful ending to a satisfying meal. Nice homey ambiance with tables fairly close to one another, but service was reasonably good to provide an overall great dinner experience.

So delicious. The best duck I've ever had. Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. My friend got the veggie burger, it was not one of those meatless burgers trying to fool you--the "bun " was potatoe, and the insides were vegetable. It was delicious. We were a large group, the food was slow to come out but worth every minute. The creek brûlée was great, the ice cream thing was even better. I tried the chocolate mousse and the lemon tart. Love this place. Highly recommend it.

This was such a cute little place ! The decor was really nice and the place was run by a couple who seemed really cool ! The food was delicious , especially the escargot which came without the shells! A great price for the amount of food!

Part of interior. Nice and cosy.

Nice place. Friendly service and good food. Wel prepared. Nice atmosphere and clean toilets, not that common in France. And free good working wifi! Would go here again!

Stopped in for lunch here. Close to the Tapestry so try it if that's where you're headed.

    La Normande - Tagliatelle Bolognese

Our hotel (The Churchill) recommended this place. Even still, in low season, we had to wait another 30 minutes beyond our 8:30pm reservation, to get a table by the front door. I equate these tables as more of an 'after thought's consideration, particularly since it's 30 degrees this time of year. Nothing daunted, our group was starved by our nearly 9pm seating. For reasons unknown to us, the restaurant specialty is Tripe. (Shrug) I wasn't feeling so adventurous and so ordered Tagliatelle Bolognese while my fellow diners ordered Tagliatelle Carbonara and Tuna. The tagliatelle wasn't great - mostly pasta without much sauce and not well seasoned for me. The desserts were very good and beautifully presented. All in all a nice place to try if you find yourself in Bayeux.

I was an even bigger fan of the Salade Normande, a colorful mixture of dressed greens topped with local specialties including two pieces of gooey Camembert cheese wrapped and baked in a thin phyllo pastry; slices of smoked ham from Manche; apples cooked in cider; a fried egg; and new potatoes. All the different components of the salad made for a delicious combination, and I especially liked the hot Camembert in crispy pastry, which was salty, unctuous, and flavorful.
