The food was ok here, you have your pasta and pizzas. If you are not planing to order a meal for yourself I don't recommend you come here as they require each person to have their own plates. Found this place on the main strip, it was basically the only one that would take us without a reservation on a Saturday night. The food was fine, prices were reasonable. We got a bottle of champagne (50€ that was a little steep), 50cl of Cote du Rhône (15€ that was a bargain) along with menu items: escargot, onion soup, omelette with bacon/onions, cod, duck breast, steak. Escargot was in a parsley pesto which was interesting spin on the normal garlic & butter, onion soup was a little watery. Omelette was exactly what you would expect. Duck was cooked perfectly as was the steak. Cod had good flavor but a little to much sauce. Hot chocolate cake was good, but the Tart Normandie (apple) was the dessert winner. I had a hamburger that was a little undercooked for me, but my bad for not telling them well done or for sending it back. My dessert was divine! This was the absolute most vile restaurant I've ever experienced in all of Europe. I would classify this as a disgrace to French food but really it's a disgrace to food, full stop. We ordered pizza with Burrata on it and the Burrata was turned. Like sour and would make a person sick. I notified our server and another woman came over to yell at me that "six other people ordered it". Okay fine, but it's still turned. My brother ordered steak that might as well have been tartare it was so rare. He wouldn't even comment because of how rude the woman was. Nobody finished their plates as the rest of the food was absolutely disgusting. The onion soup and the bolognese was wet and soggy and tasteless. My husband called it "worse than cafeteria food". The table behind us said that "the chicken was a cold piece of chicken with some sauce on it". Skip this total disaster. read more

We walked from our hotel and noticed many restaurants with outdoor seating. We only wanted coffees and crème brûlées. Their brûlée was priced very reasonably. The young waiter was super nice. He spilled a tiny bit of coffee on one plate and kept asking if we wanted a replacement. Of course we told him not to worry about it. The crème brûlées were cold but delicious. The coffee au lait came with a cube of sugar and a piece of chocolate and it was also very good. This outdoor spot was very quiet compared to the noisy local hangouts down the block. read more

Breading was so hard on my tiny piece of fish hit it with end of knife. Huge amount of bread to fish. Greasy too. Sent back for chicken entree. Wait staff flooded and overwhelmed with patrons! La Fringale is a small but cute family-owned bistro-like restaurant. Food was well prepared and very good. The escargot was served without their shells but similar to what you would find normally in the U.S. The foie gras pate was deliciously rich and tasty. The duck breast was very tender and the fries were cooked well. The creme brulee for dessert was a wonderful ending to a satisfying meal. Nice homey ambiance with tables fairly close to one another, but service was reasonably good to provide an overall great dinner experience. read more

The service was good and the staff was friendly... however, that's the best of it. My wife had the onion soup and it was terribly disppointing. Nothing at all what a decent french onion soup should be. It was bland and had no cheese on it. There was a hint of parm(?) cheese in a separate tin, but that was it. She also had the chicken dish but the chicken was overcooked and tasteless. I had the fish and chips. The one piece of medium size fish was overly greasy and lukewarm. The chips (like a small handfull of shoestring fries) were sad - also lukewarm and bland. The cod dish was ok, the escargot was good and the ham pizza was probably the most decent thing. As for dessert, I had the creme brulee and it was cold and not great. My wife and one of our friends had the lemon meringue. It had been in the fridge waaaay too long and was soggy and not very good. Another friend had the chocolate mousse and it was pretty decent. All in all, 174 Euro for the 4 of us and we all felt we would've had a better meal at McDonalds. This restaurant came highly recommended with some great reviews, but fell WAY short. Like another reviewer said, probably the worst meal we've had in our several trips to Europe. Another reviewer said it was nice and quiet compared to the noisy hangouts down the block. There's a reason for that. Maybe we just a bad night where most everything went wrong, but seriously - go elsewhere. read more

So delicious. The best duck I've ever had. Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. My friend got the veggie burger, it was not one of those meatless burgers trying to fool you--the "bun " was potatoe, and the insides were vegetable. It was delicious. We were a large group, the food was slow to come out but worth every minute. The creek brûlée was great, the ice cream thing was even better. I tried the chocolate mousse and the lemon tart. Just mediocre. We happened by for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately but it took over 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The onion soup was a disappointment; instead of being baked with cheese and bread on top, it was served with cheese and croutons on the side. No way did it compare to the standard. We shared a serving of fish and chips. We asked for malt vinegar and were given balsamic. No ketchup for the fries. The batter on the fish was sweet. When we saw our server, she was pleasant, but the food quality was way sub par. read more

We were here and the food we ordered never came after waiting an over an hour( I ordered the beef bourgeon and my wife ordered the chicken dish). Excellent food and gracious, caring atmosphere. My husband and I each had boeuf bourguignon which was offered on the prix fixe menu that evening. A hearty meal of delightful flavors. The dessert, apple tarte tatin, was amazing. While dining outside the weather unexpectedly turned chilly and the owner immediately appeared with shawls for the patrons. Nice restaurant, very pleasant service and with very limited French still able to order as the waiter is very patient. The entrecôte was surprisingly big and very tasty. This in my opinion not often the case is in French restaurants. Desserts are relatively big and enough to share. We will be back. read more
