The beer selection is organized by style along the shelves, not by geographics. The vast majority of the brews are from Québec, La Belle Provence. It's unfortunate that they have this issue but not everyone can handle booze well! The Vintages selection is seriously divine. I usually can spend around an hour here browsing and perusing the aisles to see what's new and what's recommended by the staff. They do have many vintage staples and an ever evolving selection. On my visit they did have some tastings and some mini pulled pork sandwiches. It was a nice snack while I was wandering around! I washed it down with a sample of Trius Red. Very nice contrasting flavours. What the LCBO and this location does amazingly better than my provincial SAQ is have a better selection of wines under $15. You can find hundreds of wines in the $13 or less amount. There is also a decent selection of wines under $10! You can find some decent tasting ones at this price also! SAQ needs to stop being so greedy! Also the LCBO has and does a fantastic job of promoting Ontario wineries! I'll keep coming back if the selection stays fantastic!

I tried to explain the name to the person working the counter who was in the middle of helping someone else (he asked if he could help and I told him to finish helping his current customer but he said it would take awhile) when he told me how how down I wanted to walk and what the bottle looked like! A brand new, ginormous LCBO right down the street from me?! AWESOME!…read more This location used to have one of the of the oldest, run down LCBOs in Ottawa, and it totally deserved this facelift. It's located right across the street from Carlingwood in the revamped Fairlawn Plaza. What makes this location so freakin' awesome? It's huge! It's size makes the selection great, and I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to it since it's were I first discovered pre-mixed Canadian Club and Ginger ale (SO convenient - right?!). Seriously though, the selection kicks butt, the staff are helpful and pleasant and it's brand new! What's not to love? Also, if you happen to be a drinking cyclist, they have a bunch of places for your bike (and they're used - a lot. I don't know how people have such awesome balance that they can bike home with a 2-4, but props to them). My only teeny tiny complaint it that they're only open till 9 p.m. most nights, but so are most locations that aren't downtown. Otherwise, thank you Ontario for this wonderful establishment!
