I was definitely impressed with the selection they had in the space that they had. If you're into trying new things and need some snacks, you should pop in and try it. Non-branded flavours like sour strawberry and blue raspberry were fun to choose from, but the texture left much to be desired. All of the flavours I tried were pretty watery with chunks of ice, rather than layering like a good slurpee should. Otherwise, shop was well stocked, my friend got a $2 chocolate éclair (which had frosting filling) but was otherwise passable as a $2 convenience store pastry. Staff were chill. Whole place was clean, honestly way cleaner than I expected. Very fluorescent white atmosphere. Four stars for convenience, but the slurpee alone would get 3 haha.
Combination slushie, texture was very off and didn't layer well

Red Rock Convenience and Cafe is where Silver City Food Mart used to be. It's a convenience store…read morewith a little snack bar at the front with some seating. Reminds me of the casse-croûtes I'd go to in Montreal for a hot dog (steamie) and some fries. I had been to Silver City Food Mart months ago and didn't realize they either rebranded or changed ownership. I was poking around UberEats looking for deals and new places to try and saw Red Rock Cafe pop up. They were having a few specials, $11.99 BOGO for sandwiches and spend $10 or more and get a 60g bag of All Dressed Ruffles chips. So I got 2 roast beef sandwiches and claimed my free chips. I ordered for pickup and it wasn't until I pulled up to the place that I realized I had been there before, when it was Silver City Food Mart, lol. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Pick up was quick and efficient. The sandwiches were good, although a bit salty for my tastes. I would have liked a bit more meat too, lol. It came with grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese. You got to choose the sauce between mayo, pesto mayo and mustard. I got mustard. You can have it toasted or pressed in a panini press. I got the latter. I found the sandwich a bit on the small side. I was satisfied paying the BOGO price, but would have found it expensive for regular price. Even with the in-store price of $9.99 ($2 cheaper than the UberEats price). They have Indian food at the cafe too like butter chicken, Biryani and samosas. I look forward to trying those items. On one occasion, I had ordered the Kongu Chicken Biryani ($20.99 BOGO on UberEats) but they were sold out, so I had to cancel my order. It must be popular, lol. I saw they have Chicken 65 too. Chicken 65 is one of my favourite Indian dishes! The convenience store had your usual convenience store items and prices appeared to be on par with other convenience stores. Street parking only. I was able to find a spot right out front on the other side of the street, but you may have to walk a block or so, depending on time of day and day of week. (29)

Roast beef sandwich (with mustard, cheese, onions and mushrooms). $9.99 in store or $11.99 BOGO on UberEats.
I like the note.

We were surprised to find a number of random items in the store, in addition to your usual snack and grocery items. There was a cash register, some electronics, purses, and other miscellaneous items on sale. The prices were all very reasonable and were actually much cheaper than other convenient stores we've been to. We were disappointed that they didn't have any hotdogs, but there were vegetable samosas on sale with sauce for under $2, which I will definitely try the next time I stop by. The lady at the cash register was very sweet. She asked us if we were new to the neighbourhood because she's never seen us before. We'll definitely be going back soon!

I went back to the same Pleasant Park Rd location--not to reconcile, just to make a point. I calmly bought a single lottery ticket and paid entirely in dimes hahaha. That's all they'll ever get from me now. No extra tickets, no snacks, no loyalty. I make my other purchases elsewhere--at places that treat customers with basic respect. Other stores, including Rexall, Petro-Canada, and even independent shops and other quickie stores, have never made a fuss when I briefly bring my bike in to keep it from getting stolen. The staff there understand--not act like they're doing me a favour by serving me. This store seems more interested in power-tripping than customer service. If that's how they want to run things, they can enjoy counting dimes.

They have a great range of flavours from moose tracks, heath bar, lemon, blackberry cheesecake, double fudge, peanut butter cup, tiger tail and a ton more that you don't need to know since you should just get the butter pecan! The lady stocking the shelves was super helpful and friendly, which definitely bumped this up from 3 stars to 4. The place is not very big and kind of has a weird layout. I wasn't able to pick up the exact ciders I wanted but I was able to find others I like. I was able to pick up all the 4 different types of beer my roommate wanted though. The lady working the cash was super friendly also, although it might have been nice if she asked me before stacking all 16 tall boys in one bag, it was a little heavy to carry and would have been nice if it was in two bags. Overall, the location has the basics of what you need but probably not some of the more specific things you might be looking to find. The staff is SUPER friendly though which totally makes up for not having the ciders I was looking for.

The store is clean and has a good selection of products. I have an unusual fascination with small independently-owned convenience stores, so I like checking them out. I especially like finding some prepared foods in these types of stores, as they are usually made with love. I had heard that Abbas Grocery had good sandwiches so I was excited to check them out. I was expecting paninis but the sandwiches are in fact sandwich bread sandwiches (like Wonder Bread) in comfort food varieties such as tuna, egg salad and ham and cheese. Radi assured me the sandwiches are freshly made each morning. The ham and cheese sandwich was around $4.49 and it did have a generous amount of ham, but it did look like something I could put together at home (sandwich bread, a slice of processed cheese and some slices of ham), so I passed. They had a few slices of cheesecake and I asked where they were from. I thought maybe a local baker, but was advised they were from a distributor in Montreal. I didn't end up getting anything, but enjoyed looking around. I can tell that the owners take pride in their store. Prices are reasonable and Radi was very nice. If I lived in the neighbourhood and needed convenience store items, I would definitely go to Abbas Grocery.
