We stopped at a larger producer to have whites, went on to have a fabulous lunch with fresh cheeses and salad, tried wines from the barrel at different stages and then headed to some caves at a smaller producer that had a lovely combination of reds and whites. Our tour was so perfect we engaged him for a second tour, of Reims and Champagne region. Luiz took us to the historical Notre Dame of Reims where we got a little history lesson and then off to a larger facility that produces champagne (Mumm) where we got a very in depth tour and background of how traditional champagne is made. The highlight was a stop for a toast in some vineyards with a special bottle he selected of one of his favorites. At our last stop, Robert Allait we were able to try a variety of champagnes. Both tours were a highlight of our whole trip because of Luiz. He is passionate about what he does, thoughtful and a wonderful educator. My friends and I are trying to figure out how to take him on a trip to Italy .

Luiz went above and beyond for us. He made sure my friend & I had a great trip. During the drive we talked in great length about all the difference wine regions. We visited a large Champagne house and a smaller house. I had very specific requirement and he meet every single one of them.

I'd bookmarked Barthélémy when looking for new places to enjoy for a recent solo visit of mine then coincidentally my bff recommended them to me a few days later mentioning Ina Garten loves this cheese store, so I knew it was a must. When you walk through the door you will feel what it feels and smells like to have entered cheese heaven! You will say Holy Cow!!! pun intended but it's not all cow, it's goat, and sheep and everything your little cheese loving heart could desire. This is the most gorgeous cheese store. I have my favorites here in the states... Murray's, Cowgirl Creamery, Rogue Creamery and many others but I was ready to dive right in to the delish French options here. I was greeted immediately and provided with superb service. I had no one particular thing in mind I simply wanted to purchase a whole bunch of everything. We spent a good amount of time going over many of the cheeses and I selected several to vacuum seal to bring home in addition to a couple to enjoy during my stay in France. If you are a cheese lover, you must visit Barthélémy.

They offered several samples for us to try prior to making our purchases, which we appreciated a ton. We also appreciated that the cheeses spanned all kinds of budgets; we got a budget-friendly soft cheese and splurged a little bit on an aged one. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Located at 33 Rue des Abbesses, this small, warm dining room feels more like a neighborhood living room than a restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, intimate, and unapologetically authentic. The beef stew arrives in a copper pot, generous and deeply flavorful, with slow-braised beef that falls apart at the touch of a spoon alongside carrots and potatoes. It tastes like a dish that has been given the time it deserves. The house champagne is excellent and priced honestly, and the cheesecake aux fruits rouges is the best The Famous Chef Thomas has eaten, perfectly balanced with fresh berries and a bright fruit coulis. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, Le Vrai Paris cooks for the table, not the crowd. Cappuccino Has to be the most beautiful fluffy one I have ever seen. They do a lot of foam in Paris for cappuccinos love it. Hot Chocolate Very good, needed a little sweeter asked for honey, chocolate here has higher chocolate content. French Onion Soup This is the real deal broth so rich. This was a challenge in culinary school. I can say this was the best French onion soup I had in France. Our server was very charming and provided great customer service. Plan on coming back for happy hour. It is only 3:00 pm.
