    Macarons

I attended the macaron class with my husband and 2 children and we all thoroughly enjoyed the class. Stephane made learning how to bake macrons fun and relatively easy. It was the highlight of our trip.

We booked the macaron class with Stephane and we had the best experience! Not only was he fun, but his instructions were easy to follow. It was definitely a highlight of our trip- highly recommend it!

We did the market and cooking class tour. This was such an amazing experience. I'm so glad we did this. Went to a higher end market with fish counter and La Fromagerie. The fish are all labeled as to where caught & manner caught. La Fromagerie was amazing. We took the metro and a short walk to Le Foodist store where the cooking magic happened. We made onion soup, potatoes so gratin, something similar to a Coq au Vin, a pear with chocolate ganache and vanilla bean ice cream. It was an amazing evening. The cooking class was definitely a working class. The whole time & totally worth it. The food was so good. The chef was awesome. Would definitely recommend this experience & would definitely do it again.

This was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and definitely the best experience of my trip to Paris, and I owe it all to Chef Frederic. Not only was he fun and enthusiastic, he is just a great person and instructor all around. He afforded so much culinary knowledge, and he said some things that are going to end up changing my life for the better. Bravo to him and all the staff at Le Foodist. I will be back for certain.

What an amazing class! Fanny was so much fun. We laughed, we baked and we ate. Pace of the class was great and we left with boxes of cookies!!! Highly recommend!

Our friend helped booking this experience via Viator and we were all impressed by the whole experience. we did add on to do the market tour which is very worth it to learn about where they source their food and trying some local cheese and learning about their culture through food. Then the chef took us back to the cooking school and we got divided by groups to help prepping the ingredients and the chef luc also explained each processes on prepping the dishes...and let's not forget about the wine while preparing the meal. Chef luc was very sweet and professional and very detail oriented and showed us steps of each dishes and explaining reasons behind why he was doing certain things while cooking. We learned about the food, the French culture and bonding with other people during the experience...will definitely try their other experience again such as macaroon making, baking etc.... Highly recommend!

Fun and enjoyable French dessert class with Chef Stephane! He gauged our knowledge and interest and made sure we enjoyed the class - it was a great experience! I'd recommend this for anyone interested and would be definitely come back for another class.

    Having fun!

Such a wonderful experience! We loved our Chef Luke. He was more than a Chef, he was a guide thru France, the food and the wine. If you are a cook or if can't or don't cook you should still make this a stop when you are in Paris. The meal and experience are worth the time.

If you love French patisserie, you will love the Dessert Cooking Class at Le Foodist! Stefane gave very clear directions and guided my husband and me through making crème brûlée, chocolate soufflé, financiers, and crepes Suzette. Everything was amazing and we learned so much! Looking forward to making these at home!

What an incredible experience! My daughter and I loved the baking class by Chef Luc. We made soufflés, crepes, crème brûlée, and financiers. Instructions was simple and food was yummy! Looking forward to trying all of these at home.

I decided to take a cooking class while I was in Paris. I found Le Foodist. It was in 5th Arrondissment aka Latin Qtr. I walked there. Classes were a blast!! I signed up for croissant class first. What a cool experience. Then I decided to sign up for breakfast and dinner classes. Mostly all Ameticans, I met some awfully nice people. We worked in teams. And afterwards sat at the long dinner table to eat together. If you have food allergies, be sure to send a note before you sign up. They accommodated mine like a champ!! I'm tell you, when I return, I'm heading back to Le Foodist. I really wanted this great time learning a new skill. Chefs Frederique, Paolo, and the totally hilarious Fanny for croissant class could not have made it any better of an experience. Sign up directly on the Le Foodist website. Again, ask questions. I did and Fred was sooooooooo helpful. Merci, Le Foodist!!!

    Stephane and his fan club!!

We attended the croissant and macaroon making class. It was so much fun and held the interest of my two grandkids completely!!! Stephane was the best!!!! He made the class so enjoyable and entertaining. We not only learned but he made us comfortable in a challenging setting. Stephane was patient, kind, funny and full of knowledge and experience. The tasting was awesome and a treat to bring home samples. Thank you Le Foodlist and ESPECIALLY Stephane for helping make our Paris trip so successful.

Our family signed up for a private 3hr macaron class so that our 10 yr old could participate and due to our other daughter's pistachio allergy. Fred was wonderful coordinating by email to book the class and it was a wonderful family experience! Chef Stephane walked us through the entire process start to finish! He was very personable and my husband and I as well as our three daughters (15, 13 & 10 yrs old) enjoyed his teaching style and direction. We made two batches of macarons and were able to choose 2 colors and created three fillings (chocolate, lemon & vanilla) from scratch! We all learned a lot about baking and macaroons while we worked. It was a lovely environment too! We were down in the basement and the space was perfect and neat to be in as well. Such a lovely setting to bake and cook in! We left with four boxes of macarons and can't wait to share them when we get home! Oh and we now have the recipe and can make them whenever we want! If you have the opportunity to take a class here go for it! You won't be disappointed. A lovely family bonding activity as well as a fun time with friends or a date!

Unfortunately, LCB does not cater to beginners, despite their claims that no experience is required. That simply isn't true!! Classes moved at a relentless pace, leaving little room for actual instruction! Instead of focusing on techniques, we were always rushed and then told what we did wrong. This led to injuries, mistakes, and a lot of unnecessary frustration. If you're new to cooking, this environment is more overwhelming than educational. It became clear that LCB is designed for those who want to work in high-pressure restaurant kitchens. But in my class of 16, only four students had that goal (and most classes had this same ratio). The rest of us were there to learn for personal enrichment, to open a restaurant/ café one day, or to explore culinary arts more deeply. Unfortunately, the program doesn't seem to acknowledge or support those paths. My disappointment isn't with the instructors--(shout out to Chef Caals, Chef Yann, and Chef Hoel), who were excellent given the constraints they were under. The issue lies in the LCB system itself! The program feels more like a factory line (taking your money) than a school, pushing students through their machine, rather than investing in their growth! For the cost and prestige, I expected much more. Le Cordon Bleu needs to rethink how it supports students who are genuinely there to learn, not just to survive the next service rush.

The class was held in French and i was the only student who did not speak it so they gave me an interpreter who professionally translated everything our teacher was saying. Speaking of the teacher, he was very friendly, engaging and skilled . Their kitchen is huge and really well equipped. Our class i think lasted about three hours and it was pure joy. We made two kinds of very tasty ice-cream. The process was rather complicated but it was very well explained, not rushed and it was just fun. We also made meringue, sauce and some edible decor to go with the ice-cream. Of course at the end of the class we ate our creations. It tasted really good. They gave us the recipe and step-by-step instructions to take home. I would give this place ten stars. I will definitely attend more classes at the Ritz when i visit Paris next time.

Never are you in such a position to cook this way yet I was able to bring lessons home to our own kitchen. The day started with meeting the concierge who guided us 'behind closed doors' and into the depths of the Ritz. Surprisingly, the back of house is quite nice and took me by surprise. We met our two chefs in a good size room adjacent to the main kitchen. The lesson room included a full kitchen, a large prep table, selves full of dry goods and china, and a large dinning table. From the first moment we started preparing courses and learning about every step. Wine and small dishes (we prepared) were served throughout the day. Finally, my group and our two chefs sat down for a lovely meal and interesting conversation (in English). A great experience.

No need to find the exact address on rue de verrerie). The prepatory space is transformed into a dining space, and it's all enclosed in a glass room - so even though there may be people peering into you, you eat in relative privacy. The chef is really nice, friendly, and can speak some English, though one of my favorite memories is this: "Here, you rape ze lemon -" Everyone tries to restrain their laughter politely, but a man intercedes.
