I had to rate Le Chat Bossu 5 stars because it was our 1st and best tasting dinner in Paris. This is was small quaint corner bistro that you will not want to pass up. Initially, we attempted to go to East Mamma's down the street but we were turned away because we didn't have a reservation so we stumbled upon Le Chat a short walk away and I'm glad we did. We were seated immediately, I ordered one of the best virgin mojitos I've even had (kudos to the bartender). We ordered the poulet fermier (chicken with mashed potatoes) and confit de conard (duck with roasted potatoes and a small salad). Both dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. This will be a go to whenever we are in Paris!

    Very good!

Great place and find! We were walking along the area and stumbled across this place. Sat outside to people watch and ordered the chicken burger and pasta of the day (penne with truffle cream). Service is quick and our waitress was really nice. The burger was good and fries crispy. Thought the pasta could have done with more cream though!

Great ambience - this place is bumbling and alive at 9:00PM on a Tuesday night! My boyfriend and I grabbed one of the few empty seats and ordered the duck/mashed potato and chicken/vegetable stir fry, and shared a tiramisu for dessert: Pros: -Duck was tender and crispy -Unbeknownst to me, the chicken dish was probably the least French thing on the menu. With that said, it was cooked (not drenched, like actual Asian restaurants tend to do) in a light sauce and some ginger -Complimentary bread bowl was filled with pull-apart, soft pieces of bread -Tiramisu was the star of the night! Not too sweet like your traditional tiramisu, but filled with slices of peach and berry jam -As with other restaurants in Europe, there are no rushed feelings. The waitresses will leave you alone even after you've finished your meal. There is a clear emphasis on conversational dining! Cons: -Duck was a bit gamey tasting -Chicken dish had cilantro. I hate cilantro...

The place is typical French tiny eatery but the staff was nice and attentive and the food was pretty good.

No! Us vegans want something to EAT, by jove. Thank God for Grounded. Everything is delicious and creatively presented, the hot chocolate is actually made with melted dark chocolate (um, SO GOOD,) and their menu is always evolving with the seasons. AMAZING food, guys. The two items we ordered were both SO good. We ordered some sort of toast that has almond butter, hazelnut butter, jam, and coconut flakes. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to satisfy a slight morning sweet tooth. The other item we ordered was the bowl of the month (or maybe it's the bowl of the week?) It, too, was wonderful, and so filling! Grounded is really cute and cozy inside, but I will say that it was HOT in this small space. Also, there isn't much seating in here. Maybe enough for 12-15 people. Still, the food here is incredible and the man working at the counter was so kind. Definitely stop in here if you can!

The duck confit was a little salty but very tasty. The beef tartare might not be everybody because it is raw meat and can be slimy for some people. However I loved it, and I think anyone who comes to France should definitely give it a shot here. Again it's a primer at an affordable price. Inside is nice and quaint. The waitress didn't really speak a lot English but she's really nice and tried her best. We got what we needed as we exchanged my broken French and her basic English. They take cash and card.

You get real friendly with your table neighbors :) No matter, because I think the homey cafe vibe is what they're going for. It's run by a hardworking Japanese-Lebanese couple, and you can taste how fresh everything is. If she wasn't so busy, we would've chatted with her more! Small regret not trying their wine, but we had just landed in Paris that morning and the jet lag was hitting :P This was our first reintroduction into their more leisure dining culture, no phones and only conversation. If you come hangry, you might have a more difficult time with their longer wait times and smaller portions (please remember it's a cafe/bakery, not a full-on restaurant experience). I would come back just for their desserts because their ingredient combos are so whimsical!

Oh, how I loved dining at Mokonuts in Paris!…read more The unusual name caught my eye when I first started my restaurant research. But it was the reviews and feedback that cemented it as a "must do" for me. We managed to get a resy at this tiny (22 seats), lunch-only, Mon-Fri only, Mom and Pop shop. And it lived up to the accolades. Super-vibrant Moko Hirayama greeted and seated us. She's an ex-NYC lawyer and amateur baker turned professional baker, plus front of house wizard. Back in the miniscule open kitchen we saw her husband, Omar Koreitem, furiously finishing prep and start to cook at 12 noon sharp, all with just one other staffer. By the way, this Japanese - Lebanese couple just released a fabulous, beautiful cookbook (Mokonuts, Phaidon Press)... and it tells the story better than I can here. Suffice to say - highest recommendation - order it today! On our visit in November, my wife and I ordered almost the entire lunch menu, small by design, but absolutely terrific from start to finish. Mokonuts is one of those special places you don't come across very often. If you're headed to Paris, please start working on securing a resy ASAP. If you're not travelling, get the cookbook and enjoy at home. Either way, you can't go wrong!
