Unfortunately the landlady presented us with the bill, which we paid without quibble, but she whipped it away again before we could check the individual prices and any surcharges. It never reappeared, and our knowledge of the language didn't extend to requesting another inspection. The beers were half a litre each and the supposedly large glasses of wine were nothing more than acidic normal UK measures in appearance. We felt ripped off and made a decision never again to cross the threshold!

So, I am going to say that this place was actually pretty cool - it had one of those atmospheres that I really liked, and actually felt like one of those hipster bars that I tend to frequent back home in Melbourne. Oh, and the bookshelf also gave this place heaps of character, and I've certainly got to look at going back again, if I ever land up in Boulonge Sur Mer again (which is unlikely).

Not only is the interior unique, but the beer selection is top notch (Cantillon Gueuze on draft!) and the company stellar. The beers here are amazing with over 20+ on tap there is something for everyone - and some must try Trappist beers. I absolutely loved this spot. Only reason for not having 5 stars? The service. Although the place was relatively crowded, it was not very crazy at all especially when we first came in after opening and the staff behind the bar were kind of rude. I asked for a flight and they seemed annoyed they had to make one instead of just pouring 1 beer, and i was reading the menu and didn't have all my numbers ready to fire off - more upset. Additionally, my wife and I sat down at the bar about 1 hour after the place opened and we both had glass all over our chairs and now in our bottoms. The bartender was annoyed when my wife asked him to clean it - he said some glass thing exploded there before opening... so you didn't clean it? And then were annoyed customers had glass in their pants? make that make sense.
