It was a good curry, but nothing differentiated it from any other good Thai curry I've had. The authentic Thai interior provided a good dining environment. The service was great! Our waitress was very sweet, and our food came out in record time; probably about 5-7 minutes. Verdict: I would totally come back here to try their other stuff. I've read good things about their breakfast!

This was our second visit to this location of Ben Thanh. Our first visit was 10 or so years ago and…read morewe remembered enjoying it, so we thought we'd go back. Unfortunately, this visit to this location didn't live up to our expectations. We both ordered vermicelli dishes which arrived promptly after we ordered. They looked pretty on par with the vermicelli at the other Ben Thanh locations. We both had shrimp on a sugarcane and honestly it just tasted strange. This is something I order at least 3 times a month and have done for many years, so I know how it's supposed to taste. First of all, it was about 80% sugarcane and 20% shrimp, but it was very dry and hard. The flavour was very earthy and not at all shrimp-like. The meatballs were fine and the spring rolls tasted good although they were very oily. The grilled pork was also tasty but very dry and overcooked. We were both extremely surprised that there were no bean sprouts, no mint and no chopped peanuts. The decor was in need of an upgrade. The stairs down to the washroom and the whole downstairs was very dirty. The floor in the ladies' room was sticky. The vermicelli dishes were more than $10 each, which is very expensive compared to the many other Vietnamese restaurants we frequent regularly. And the food honestly wasn't nearly as good. Based on this visit, we won't be returning to Ben Thanh's London location.

The only really downside is the fact that the servers take a pretty long time to get to you and they rarely check back to see if you need anything else. With that being said, I come here at least once a week. I can't help it, I fall weak at even the whisper of Pho or a Vermicelli bowl, and they do a pretty great job at making it too. What I personally didn't like though was the Pad Thai. I may be alone on this one though, because I've seen several people order it here and no one seems to have a problem with it. I like my Pad Thai less sweet. That's ok though, I really love the Vietnamese food here.

We stopped by during a recent trip out west after a friend highly recommended the restaurant,…read moresaying it was the "best Chinese food in town" and a must-try. While the food was good, it did not quite live up to the hype. We ordered the roast duck, eggplant pot, and beef noodle soup. The roast duck was cooked ok, the eggplant pot was comforting, but sauce and flavor were not rich enough, but kids love the beef noodle dish. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but none of the dishes stood out as particularly memorable or unique. Service was pleasant, and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, but based on our experience, it was good rather than exceptional.

We started with spring rolls and mango salad and had a vegetarian pad thai, veggie red curry and the Bangkok katsu tofu for our mains. The pad thai was good. I like it was less sweet than the last couple of places I had it but I would have liked it more if it was a little less sweet. The red curry with tofu and vegetables was excellent but the show stopper was the Bangkok katsu. It included panko crusted tofu with some stir fried veggies on ride in a peanut sauce. Absolutely loved it. When looking at the menu, most dishes contain meat but they can make almost every dish vegetarian or vegan including substituting sauces that do not contain fish sauce/stock. Had a really enjoyable meal. Highly recommend this place.

Service was…read moreexcellent as always, and the ambience and decor are perfectly suited for both group dinners and intimate one-on-ones. The curries, with varying spice levels, are my personal favorite and consistently deliver. The Pad Thai is another go-to that never disappoints. We also tried a chicken stir fry and a salmon with sushi dish this time; both were decent, but they didn't stand out like the curries and Pad Thai usually do. While the flavors were there, they didn't leave a memorable impact, and we probably won't order them again. Also on a separate occasion that I went, they had a Londonlicious menu where I got the khao soi (which is one of my favourite Thai dishes). While it was good, I do think their pad Thais are curries are much better. Overall, Thaifoon remains a solid choice, especially for their standout curries and Pad Thai.
