Shrimp & Catfish Dinner
Dawn T.

Fresh out the fryer, perfectly cooked golden delicious shrimp and catfish. Side of corn and coleslaw was great too. Fries were crispy to perfection. Pulled up to the pick up window and didn't even have to wait five minutes and my order was done. Friendly face at the window, decent prices and convenient location. First time here and won't be the last.

Shrimp Po Boy - 1/2 is enough

Very simple / very short DELICIOUS!! As part of a large group, my choice was the combo platter that had shrimp, oysters, and fillets. The fillets today were catfish that had a crispy breading. The rest of the choices ranged through the menu and all comments were very positive

Fried shrimp salad.

The best fried shrimp and friendly service. I love going here for lunch. It's so easy to call ahead and it's waiting for you, but just as easy to eat in.

It's a nice plate lunch. Prices have risen. But you will leave full and have some to take home.

The food is fresh and tasty. The drive through is convenient especially during a monsoon. This has been a good place to eat for years.

You can tell she really enjoys people and wants to make them happy. We started with flambéed shrimp and french onion soup. The shrimp were delicious. It was a spin on New Orleans style barbeque shrimp and we really enjoyed them. The french onion soup was good, but a bit oversalted. The seafood platter was huge, it could have easily served a whole family. The fish and shrimp were very good, but unfortunately the stuffed crabs and crawfish were a bit fishy. We would return for the hospitality but may stick to the french selections next time.

The menu's a weird mashup of provincial French and hyper-traditional Cajun cooking, prepared by Jacqueline Salser, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained French expat. I ate: Old-fashioned Crawfish Bisque, including heads stuffed with a filling made from ground crawfish tails, vegetables and spices Crawfish Étouffée Alligator Sauce Piquante Really excellent French bread from a local bakery If you consider visiting, believe every good thing you read about Chez Jacqueline's food and every bad thing you read about their service. The place is worth the drive out of town.

We did get there very early talking before 10am they were so sweet and amazing still letting us order what was available and answering any and many questions we had regarding food options. Service was 5 out of 5 for our first moment in LA everyone was so kind and made our journey so worth it. We got the crawfish fettuccine with the Crawfish dressing and regular rice and an amazing biscuit. (Honestly I could order a dozen just for the road back) All the food was a 10 out of 5 and so sad I don't live closer as I know I will be dreaming of this food for the rest of my life! They have other food there like a grocery store and really thinking of going back just to buy some for the freezer for when I miss it most. And always like to take a moment to talk about the restrooms and when going to places like that I don't expect the nicest bathroom but they shocked the mess out of me. By far the best restrooms. If there is a way to give a place more then 5 I would give them 10 out of 5 over all!!! Will be coming back!

People lining up outside before they open at 0800 and then there is a $10.00 cover charge per person. The music was good but a little too loud (if it's too loud, you're too old). Skip the endless mimosas. They're mixed up in pitchers diluted with a ton of ice and then poured into your cup. The food was atrocious - all our orders came out cold and the biscuits were hockey pucks. They automatically add 20% gratuities to all checks. $160.00 breakfast for 4? Never again.

Ambiance: 3/5 Parking is in front and next to the gas station. Once inside, there's table seating inside with ordering done at the front Restrooms could use an upgrade, but help get the job done. Food: 5/5 I looked over the menu and decided to try the Bayou Sampler. Comes with 2PC chicken (your choice dark or white meat or for extra cost can get mixed), red beans & rice, boudin link & biscuit. All had good flavor, except the biscuit, it was ok. Chicken wasn't greasy but moist with flavor. Red beans also very tasty and boudin link just as good. Service: 5/5 The counter server was friendly and so were the cooks, while it did take a while to get my food, it's cooked to order so that's understandable. Once I got my food, I wanted to take a photo and realized that my order was missing the chicken.
