Recommended by the Michelin Guide, this place had to be good. It was. In the spring and summer, dining under 4 large (huge) Plane trees is just so peaceful. It turns out that several restaurants share this space on the square. As we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table. The daily menu, shown on the blackboard changes daily. All the meals are reasonably priced and prepared well. I started with a just picked, fresh salad with heirloom tomatoes. Deliciously dressed with fresh herb balsamic dressing-simply divine. The volaille (chicken) supreme with truffles and freshly roasted potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and onions wonderfully tasty, hearty and satisfying. Local wines from the Cote du Rhone are the way to go as there are a number of very affordable, delicious choices. We settled on one from Vinsobres, the newest appellation in the region. Dessert was a fresh apricot tarte with almonds. Delicious. Service was excellent. We went inside to pay at the end and were delighted to see a warm and welcoming dining room and the kitchen where many of the dishes are prepared over an open flame. This was very good, reasonably priced country dining. read more
