We only cooked dinner there once though, so I'm not sure if anything essential was missing to cook more. 5. Pool area was very nice. If you have little kids, they'd love spending all day out there. 3 pools, water fall area, lazy river, splash pad, one slide, 3 hot tubs. Cons: 1. There were no blinds or curtains on the huge back windows. That's fine during the day I guess, but sitting in a lit room at night was not fun. Anyone could see in. I didn't like that at all. 2. We had to buy toilet paper, there was only 3 rolls provided for 5 days. And no tissues or paper towels. 3. For the most part it was clean. But walking on the floors, and then looking at your bare feet, there was dirt. Someone's underwear was left next to the washing machine, and my husband found some items underneath the dressers. Cobwebs everywhere. It feels like just a light clean was done between guests, not a deep clean. Not worth the money it cost. 4. The 3rd bedroom was basically a closet. Room for bunk beds and that's it. No TV, no dresser, no closet. 5. All of the hot tubs were a lukewarm temperature. And the jets didn't work on the 2 outdoor ones. I did email the owner about that thinking she might not have known, but honestly that is something that should be checked daily. Also the hot tub turned our fingernails and toenails blue/ green. I have no idea what was it that water, but that's never happened in my entire life. 6. The pool water was freezing. That probably wouldn't bother kids too much, but as an adult it would be nice for the water to be at least 75-78ish. 7. There were only 6 towels provided for 4 guests, I just think that maybe 2-3 per guest would be better. 8. Very very minimal dish soap. If we had cooked breakfast lunch and dinner daily, we would've ran out on day 2. 9. Laundry Detergent pods were provided, but those were scented so we had to buy our own. 10. The water temp in the showers could've been better. It got hot, but not as hot as I would like. Also the water left a white film on all of our bodies. My daughter felt like she couldn't get clean all week, her hair felt like straw. This could be a problem in the whole town though, I don't know what kind of water we were washing with. 11. Our grill did not work 12. We only had people staying above us for 2 out of 5 nights. And thank God for that because the insulation was awful, and it was so loud. 13. Beds and pillows were too stiff. I realize I have more cons than pros, but we really did enjoy this place, better than a hotel. I would stay here again. I just think that with the price it cost, everything should be included. I shouldn't have to purchase toilet paper and dish soap and paper towels, unless we used an excessive amount. Which we didn't.

The breakfast was delicious- we had French toast with nuts and strawberries. There is a large common deck to sit outside and a sun room. The Mediterranean room has its own private deck as well. There is direct lake access from the property and you can use their two kayaks or paddle boat. The sheets on the bed are absolutely amazing and the two person jetted tub is wonderful and well kept. It was a wonderful getaway and worth every penny for its level of relaxation and seclusion. There is also free wifi and great cell signal.

We thoroughly enjoyed both of our stays at Anchor Inn on the Lake. We stayed several nights both times and had great experiences. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. The breakfast is delicious, unique, and different every day. There are paddle boats and kayaks to take out on the lake, a humongous deck to enjoy wonderful views of the lake and local wildlife, and spacious rooms to relax and stay in if desired. One of the rooms has a cool 2nd level with a jacuzzi tub that has a great 360 degree view. And the sheets....OH MY GOODNESS the sheets!! There are several layers of sheets and covers on top of an already comfortable bed, which makes for a night's sleep like no other. I always have trouble sleeping, but not there! The Inn is in a great location. It is out far enough to enjoy a peaceful and serene environment but close enough to the attractions of Branson and the surrounding areas. You just can't beat the great location. They also have a rewards program to earn free nights. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay around Branson.

A Sad Decline: My wife has been coming to Artilla Cove since she was a child, and I've been joining her for nearly 15 years since we got married. It's heartbreaking to watch this property deteriorate over the years. What was once a cherished family destination has become increasingly run down and mismanaged. This latest visit was the final straw. Unprofessional Staff & Operations: When we arrived at 4:15pm, the staff was already packing up to leave for the day with no one scheduled to remain on-site. I'm genuinely concerned about how guests are supposed to check in if the office is completely unattended. The staff we did encounter were rude and disorganized, which set a terrible tone for our trip. Hidden Fees: We were hit with a surprise $50 cleaning fee that was never mentioned during our online booking. This kind of dishonest practice is unacceptable, and we should not have been charged for something that wasn't disclosed upfront. Property Looks Like a Junkyard: The grounds resembled a used car lot more than a vacation rental property. There were multiple vehicles scattered around--some on cinderblocks, others with hoods propped open--severely limiting guest parking. We also spotted at least one boat and a small bulldozer on the property. This is not the scenic lake getaway we paid for. The newest house on the property was an eyesore with a door-sized hole cut into the siding on one side but not the other, directly obstructing what should have been a pleasant lake view. Inappropriate Behavior: Most concerning was witnessing someone openly smoking marijuana from a bong in full view of guests--including our eight-year-old child. The smell was overwhelming as we left for Silver Dollar City. While I understand recreational use is legal in Missouri, this kind of behavior in plain sight of families with young children is completely inappropriate and unprofessional for any hospitality business. Bottom Line: We came to the Lake of the Ozarks area for a relaxing family vacation and instead found ourselves in an uncomfortable, poorly managed situation. After years of loyalty to this property, we will absolutely be finding alternative accommodations for future trips to the area. Before grocery shopping, take inventory of what you need. Towels and swim towels provided. Toiletries include hand/bath soap. No shampoo, cream rinse, lotions or similar. No maid service. Towels provided as needed. If you want relaxation, quietness by the lake, peace, come here. If you want noise, stay on "the strip". If you want pampered, find someplace else to go. But this is getting to be our annual motorcycle road trip destination.

We have stayed at many B&Bs and one of the highlights were the extraordinary breakfast that were served and many provided an evening desert. We were totally unimpressed with the thin slice of store bought pumpkin roll the evening we arrived and the second night they failed to bring a desert at all. The first morning breakfast wasn't horrible, but not impressive, biscuits and gravy and 2 pear slices. It is the second breakfast that stunned us. It was a small sausage patty, a flour tortilla folded over with Nutella in it and sliced bananas on top. We always have enjoyed our B&B stays and one of the reasons for our choosing to book a B&B is the enjoyment of a great breakfast. I've read reviews of others touting the breakfast so don't know what happened. Don't think we will have a return visit.

I was told the property sold, all reservations were not going to be honored. Until threatening with the BBB, I heard radio silence. Then I was told they could do 50 rooms and make the rate better several days after the fact, which is completely unacceptable. Our group was 3 weeks out from our event date with printed assets finalized tied to this location. We immediately had to scramble to find another location and were even lucky we were able to find somewhere during Memorial Day week that would have the space. COMMUNICATION: Good luck getting confirmation emails. I played receptionist for 97 room bookings. Folks could NEVER get through to the front desk, I was constantly having to adjust bookings myself via excel sheet. I've been running group events ranging from 200 - 1,500 people for almost a decade and I've never experienced anything of this caliber like I did with this property. To top it all off, all "cancellation emails" were sent out as confirmations, creating mass confusion amongst our group who was just asked to rebook offsite after this debacle. Our private information was also breached with a mass cancellation email to all registrants without BCC'ing the database. Do yourself a favor and find another property because this one isn't worth the massive amounts of time and headache that you will spend correcting things, if you're even able to have your contracted rate honored. Absolutely the worst communication and management I've ever experienced in my life.
